My beloved Young Miss
71. Steve's Trap

"Wouldn't it be a loss for us to pay the semester fee if the lecturer doesn't just enter a class like this." Dave said while putting his college supplies in his bag.

There was just a notification that the lecturer who will teach at the last hour cannot attend.

Alvin who was also in the middle of entering his book just shook his shoulders relaxed. "Yes, loss is. Our money is in vain. But how else?"

"Yes, at least he stays there as bad as any day. If it were us, he would not care and still cross our names in the attendance book."

"And even worse, we're told he's not there fifteen minutes before he gets home. You suck."

"You can't protest either."

"really. Protesting is just the two of us who don't like it. The other friends seem ordinary."

Alvin and Dave circulated their views to his friends.

"I mean, he's the only lecturer who rarely goes in and teaches. Just imagine Vin, in a month already twice he was not present in our lecture hours. Waste of time this way."

Just then, the phone that was in Alvin's pocket rang, notification of incoming messages. Alvin quickly grabbed his phone and read the message.

For a few seconds he seemed to furrow his brows while reading the contents of the message. Dave could see Alvin's changed face.

"What's wrong with your face?" ask Dave wonder.

Alvin just kept quiet, didn't answer anything. This made Dave curious.

"The vin? You're okay, right?"

"This message." muttered Alvin.

"What message?"

"I mean, this is a message from Karina" said Alvin still staring at the screen of his phone.

Dave suddenly raised his eyebrows, staring dislikefully. "Marina?"

"Yes." Yeah."

"Okay, then what?"

"Karina wants to see me." continued Alvin while putting his phone in his jacket pocket. With a quick movement he put his college stuff in the bag.

"Want to meet you?" Dave stared at Alvin's hasty movements in confusion. "But for what?"

"He said he needed me. He's in big trouble right now."

"What problem?"

"Some people were bothering him in the back garden of the campus."

"What does this have to do with you?"

Alvin stopped his movement of packing the contents of the bag and sighed. "He's asking me for help, Dave."

"Yes, I know he's asking you for help. But I mean, why should you? She has a big boyfriend who can help her easily. Then why ask yourself to come there?"

To be honest, Dave didn't want to interfere. Alvin is his best friend. And for Dave, Karina is Alvin's ex-lover who Dave doesn't like at all.

"Where do I know." Alvin answered annoyedly.

"No, no." Dave's got Alvin. "Then you just let him get some other help."

"You crazy? He's in danger, Dave. But you asked me to just leave him there alone, didn't you?"

"Yes, it's because you guys have nothing to do."

"But helping others is an obligation. No need for a relationship."

"And helping others should also know what kind of person. The problem is Karina, the snake girl, Vin."

"I'm leaving." said Alvin after closing the zipper of his bag in a hurry without answering Dave's previous words.

"Wait!" hold Dave.

"What?"

Alvin stopped his steps and turned to Dave. Alvin stared fixedly at Dave who was currently also staring at him.

"Why?" ask Dave.

"No Dave. You're not going to come. I'll go there myself."

"Why can't I come?"

"Karina asked me to come alone. He doesn't want a crowd there that would put him to shame." Alvin told Dave.

"He bullied people but didn't want to get help?" Dave looked suspiciously.

"He wants to be helped, but-"

"But you're the only one who can get there." cut Dave.

"Yes, he doesn't want people to know."

"That's the problem, Alvin. Karina needs your help because she's bullied by thugs. But only you came. Wouldn't more people be better at driving away thugs." Said Dave, who then whispered to Alvin.. "Isn't this weird?"

"I don't have time for this debate, Dave." Alvin confirmed the strap on his bag.

"I'm not arguing with you, Alvin. But I'm realising that there's something strange about all this."

"I go first." said Alvin indifferently.

"Come on Alvin, wake up!" said Dave holding the arm of his best friend. "Did you forget? You guys broke up."

"Dave, Karina helped me once when I was sick. That's why I owe him."

"Alvin, listen to me!"

"Otherwise, Dave?"

"I have to tell you that this time somehow I feel bad."

"Not good?" alvin stared in astonishment at Dave.

Dave nodded his head slowly. "I feel like this is a strange thing."

Dave's not lying. In his heart he said Alvin can't go. And even if Alvin leaves, Dave must also accompany him to make sure that his best friend will be okay.

"You're just overreacting, Dave" said Alvin, shaking his head, shaking his hand. "Just calm. Later when my business is done, I will contact you immediately" Alvin said with a smile.

"But Alvin.." prevent Dave from once again trying to hold Alvin.

"Otherwise, Dave?" Alvin stared at Dave panted. He really can't take it anymore. His best friend is acting like his bodyguard.

While Dave, the young man seemed so worried about letting his best friend go alone, "You should call me. Otherwise I'll be right to catch up with you." Dave told Alvin.

"I'll call you." said Alvin and then stepped out of the place.

Dave was currently still standing limp, his eyes constantly staring at Alvin's departure.

If it were to be honest, his heart was currently completely unsettled. Yeah, actually his heart never calmed down if Alvin was dealing with Karina.

For Dave, all this time Karina just gave Alvin all kinds of hardships.

Dave sighed deeply, "It's good they broke up. So why did Karina ask Alvin to see her again, anyway?

Upon arriving at the place in question, Alvin was confused because he did not see Karina. Alvin stared into the surrounding area. But only a few students were seen and there were no sightings of Karina.

"Am I late?" muttered Alvin while continuing to look to his right and left.

"no.." shouted someone from behind. "You're very punctual."

Alvin turned his gaze to the source of the voice behind him. But Alvin frowned in confusion when he saw Steve, Karina's lover standing right in front of him.

The young man looked at her with a sinister smile while bouncing the black plastic wrap he had in his hand.
