70. Misunderstand Again

Karina enters her beloved Steve's car with a small smile.

"Thank you for coming to pick me up today, baby." said Karina as she put her things down and then closed the car door.

"Dear, I picked you up right here after you had done your workout and shower."

"I'm sorry I've been troubling you." Karina put on a bad look. "Actually my car was brought by my brother and until now he has not returned."

"I don't have a problem, honey. I can quickly pick you up wherever you are."

Karina simply responded by nodding her head while smiling.

"We're leaving now?" I asked Steve to Karina.

The girl nodded again and swiftly put the seat belt on her body.

Moments later, the car they were driving drove on the highway.

Karina rested her back on the back of the car seat while turning her gaze out the window. He stared at the road in front of him which was currently crowded by vehicles.

But it is not the vehicle that is the focus at the moment, but someone who for a few days just continues to fill his mind.

It was Alvin.

Alvin himself is someone Karina has been camping with, but somehow after they separated, the shadow of his ex-lover always appears in his head. Karina doesn't understand herself either. He did not know why he became thinking about his former lover continuously even though they had broken up.

Karina even kept remembering the time she took care of Alvin in the young man's private home. To be honest, that night was a special night for Karina herself. He had never been so happy to see Alvin's face so close.

Finally, due to being too focused on thinking about Alvin, Karina had not even listened to Steve who was talking to her.

"Karina, I'm talking to you" Steve said. But there was no response from the girl.

Steve furrowed his brows in astonishment as he looked at Karina who was smiling to herself while staring at the highway in front of him.

"Marina?" so Steve again.

There was still no response from her lover.

Steve who felt Karina was engrossed in herself and never answered her words finally felt upset.

"Rin!" steve shouted.

Karina who was daydreaming was immediately jolted by the call of her lover.

"Yes, Vin?"

Steve was stunned to hear the girl's reply. The young man's lips clenched tightly upon hearing the name of who Karina had just mentioned.

"What?" said Steve who seemed to not believe in his hearing. Steve looked at Karina with a sharp look. Did the girl just say the wrong thing?

"Who did you say? Whose name are you calling?"

"Huh?"

"Vin, you just said Vin, right??" steve asked, trying to confirm his hearing.

"I said so?"

"true." Steve was still staring at Karina with his sharp gaze. "Whose name did you just call?"

Karina hurriedly smiled, despite looking awkward.

"I mean I was your name. I called Steve, baby."

"Ck, really?"

"Yes!"

Steve was upset that Karina didn't want to admit, "No Karina, I can hear clearly, you said, Vin!"

Karina is all about herself. This must have happened because he thought of Alvin along the way. Finish already. He was sure Steve would be really upset. Besides, why could he even say the wrong name, anyway?

Steve flicked the car he was driving to the side of the road.

"Steve, why stop here?" Karina looked right and left of the road.

Steve did not answer. He tapped on the steering wheel he held with an annoyed look on his face.

"Explain!" steve said sharply, his eyes looking at Karina as if he needed more than just an explanation.

"What should I explain?"

"Everything."

"Steve!"

"Karina! You better be honest, what you meant was Alvin, right?"

Checkmate!

Steve's guess is straight to the point.

"Couldn't you?"

Karina looked at Steve unwell. Should he be honest. But he was sure Steve would be very angry.

Karina gently grabbed the young man's hand.

"explanation?" Steve quickly jerked the hand of Karina who was trying to touch her. "You wanted to explain that you were thinking about him, right?"

"Steve!"

"Excellent, Karina. That stupid young man seems to have managed to drive you crazy again. Why, are you sorry you broke up with her?"

Karina shook her head.

"It's not so, honey. I was just-"

"Why are you still thinking about that stupid young man, anyway! Did you forget that you were separated some time ago. And did you forget that your lover is now me?"

"Yes, I know. I can remember that clearly."

Steve exhaled his coarse breath. "Then why are you thinking about him?"

"I don't think about him."

"Then what? Thought me? So why did he even mention his name?"

"This is just a mispronunciation of that-"

"Sad. This is not a mispronunciation, Karina. You're obviously thinking about her, Karina. That's why you've accidentally mentioned his name."

"You know Karina, I know everything."

Karina did not answer, the girl just kept waiting for what Steve would say next.

"Have I watched you secretly meet him a few times?"

"What?"

"Why? You're surprised I know all that?"

"I never secretly met him. You're starting to accuse me of anything."

"really? Who is in the toilet? Who took his ex to college and who misnamed him? That's all you do and you want me to keep letting, is that it?"

To be honest, Karina was surprised Steve could figure it all out. Even his meeting with Alvin on the toilet that time Steve also knew.

"It's just a matter of mispronouncing Steve's name, why are you so overdone by discussing so many things like this."

"I'm overreacting?" Steve stared at Karina.

"Steve's just misunderstood."

"It's not a misunderstanding. Karina is not just a misnomer. Alvin's your ex, Rin. Out of the millions of names in the world why do you even mention his name?"

"Okay, okay, sorry!" karina Pinta.

"And you end this with an apology?"

"What do you want?"

Having a challenge like that, Steve fell silent. He didn't know what he wanted after this incident.

"Salain!" steve hit the driver of his car and drove back to the campus with annoyance

Steve slammed the car door hard. He did not care Karina who was surprised. He was really upset because he felt Alvin was trying to get close to Karina again. He's way above being upset now.

First he sees Karina with Alvin in the toilet. Second, Karina took Alvin to campus and now the girl called Alvin's name right in front of her.

Steve even ignored Karina who was calling her name in the back.

In a fit of annoyance Steve came to where his group used to be.

"What's wrong with you, Steve?" ask a friend of Steve's.

"Gupped up!"

"Why?"

"Karina and Alvin, I think they'll be back together again."

"What's? How come?"

"The fool just kept getting close to Karina. I'm sick of seeing them stay together. Karina even daydreamed it."

"Ck, why are you so angry."

"Of course I'm angry."

"You better relax, Steve. This kind of business is a small matter."

"True, it's an easy affair." said the others.

"What's easy."

"Just reply to him. Just teach him a lesson." said another friend of Steve's. "I have a plan to help you."
