72. Deafening

"Steve?"

"Yes, it's me." replied Steve casually.

"Why are you the one"

"Why did I come?" cut Steve. "You want to ask that, don't you?"

Alvin was silent. He looked at Steve with a confused look. Alvin is confused. Isn't the reason he came here because Karina called him and said she needed his help, so why did Steve show up.

"I'm sure my message got to you?" steve said with a sly smile on his face.

Alvin sontak. "So, you're the one"

"Yes, right. It was I who sent you a message through Karina's cell phone. That's why I'm waiting for you here instead of Karina."

"I've been waiting for you" said Steve stepping closer. "Ah, wrong. I don't mean me, but we've been waiting for you."

Right after Steve said that, came several other people who Alvin believed were friends of Steve.

"Why? Are you disappointed that I called you and asked you to come here instead of Karina?"

"Why you-"

PLUCK!

Alvin was surprised not to play when Steve suddenly threw the black plastic that he had been holding onto him. The black plastic that Alvin just realized was filled with raw egg liquid was directly contaminating the clothes that Alvin was wearing.

"Feel that!" said Steve.

"What are you doing!" squeal Alvin.

"And this! You feel this too." said Steve's friend from behind.

BYURR!

Not to lose his surprise because of Steve's treatment of him. This time Alvin had to rush to wipe his wet face because of a dirty water spill that was accidentally spilled right on his head by one of Steve's friends.

Alvin could even clearly smell the fishy smell coming from that water.

"How does it feel?" said Steve.

"Yes, it was actually water from the fish pond that was behind the campus" said Steve again then he laughed out loud with his friend.

Alvin rubbed his wet face again. He could feel when the dirt from the water had entered his eyes and made his eyes sore. Alvin's nose also looks reddened because some water had time to get into his nostrils.

"Why are you doing this?" Alvin.

Steve screeched cynically at Alvin's question to him.

"Listen, fool! Whatever you're receiving right now is 'cause you're daring to get close to Karina again."

Hearing that sentence Alvin's forehead shriveled in confusion. He was shocked and did not expect that the cause of all this was Karina.

"Marina?"

"Yes, you dare approach my beloved."

Alvin shook his head. "I never approached Karina at all."

"I don't care if you go near him or not" Steve said. "All I know is that you and Karina have met behind me several times. I tried to remind you to stay away from Karina but you stayed close to her. That means you're looking to die. Well, I don't care who comes close to who, anyway, but I told you to stay away from Karina."

"But-"

"Steve!" exclaiming a woman suddenly just entered the crowd, making Alvin speech cut off.

It was Karina who had just come out of nowhere.

"Ah, dear. You accepted my invitation to come here apparently. You came at the right time." Steve said, hugging Karina. "You see this, baby."

Karina turned her head in the direction Steve was pointing at and immediately rounded her eyes. He raised his hand to cover his mouth with both hands as if he could not believe what he was witnessing right now.

"Steve, he's-"

"Yes darling. He's your goddamn ex."

"But what happened?"

"Ah, actually you missed this exciting spectacle. But don't worry, 'cause you can watch the rest."

Steve nodded, trying to put a sign on one of his friends. And…

BYURR!

The umpteenth time spill was splashed on Alvin. The spill that turned out to be coffee grounds was apparently prepared by another friend of Steve who had been standing next to Steve.

Alvin clenched his palms. All his patience has gone all this time. This treatment really hurt her.

Yeah, hurt heart. Only that could describe everything Alvin felt. Alvin's heart is now in tremendous pain because of the actions of these people.

Alvin stared intently at Steve who was currently even grim looking at the situation now. And so did Steve's friends who were there.

Not with Karina. Alvin didn't realize that the girl didn't seem happy with what Steve was doing right now.

Steve turned to his side, looked at Karina's facial expression and looked at her lover in surprise. Karina's eyes were seen displaying a very clear expression of anxiety.

"What's the matter, baby?" ask Steve

Karina did not answer. The girl instead smiled wryly with eyes staring at Alvin.

Unknowingly Karina started to step forward, drawing closer to Alvin. But his steps immediately came to a halt as he felt Steve holding his arm.

"Karina, what are you doing?"

"Huh?"

"Where are you going?" steve protest.

Karina tries to pull her hand from Steve's, "Take it off!"

"Karina!"

Because never released, Karina finally threw Steve's grip on his arm and then he continued his steps, moving forward towards the direction Alvin stands at this time.

"You're okay, right?" Karina.

Alvin was silent.

"Alvin, answer me!"

Karina raised her hand to touch Alvin's face. "You're all right sa-"

Karina's words were cut off as someone exclaimed and held her arm. Karina quickly turned her head towards that person. Both of his eyes were rounded.

That's Dave. My close friend Alvin. The young man was also here and was staring at Karina with an annoyed expression on his face.

"Don't you dare touch her. Don't you dare touch it." Dave looked at Karina with an annoyed look. "You and Alvin broke up!"

"You're right, but this-"

"Aren't you supposed to never see each other again, are you?" Dave continued his sentence with a cynical look. "Then why should you ask her to meet again. Is your goal to have Alvin come here just to do this ridiculous thing to him?"

Karina furrowed her brows, "What? I brought Alvin here?"

"Oh so now you've forgotten your own behavior? Is that what you mean?"

"Not forgetting, Dave. But I never said anything about asking Alvin to come here. Never." said Karina shaking her head.

"Omong empty, Karina. I knew from the beginning something was strange. This is your scheming and your lover's plan. Cih, you really have the heart."

"Dave, I'm talking the truth. I never asked Alvin to come here."

"Oh, so do you mean that Alvin just suddenly came here without you asking and gave himself up to be the bullies of your lover. Is that so?"

Karina rounded her eyes looking at Dave in shock. How not? As he recalled, he had never called or sent any messages to Alvin. His phone is not even held. He had just come from the toilet and left his cell phone to Steve when he was going to the toilet.

Karina realized something. The next moment he rounded and immediately turned to look at Steve standing up. The young man was also looking at him with a difficult gaze to understand.

In Karina's heart, she wondered, did Steve do it? Did Steve call Alvin and ask Alvin to come? Did Steve dare to frame Alvin by using his name?

"See this!" said Dave pointed at Alvin's body from top to bottom and looked at Karina sharply. "This is the work of your lover."

Karina came back closer to Alvin

"Alvin's." Karina clutched Alvin's arm. He then shook his head tightly. "I didn't. I mean, I didn't do it."

"Yes, you didn't do anything. But your lover did it. You're working together, aren't you?" syndicate Dave.

Karina shook her head. He held both of Alvin's arms. "You should hear my explanation first, Alvin."

"I have to go." said Alvin suddenly slowly.

"Yes, we're going!" said Dave coldly. Then with a single pull, Alvin's body was immediately carried in Dave's steps.

"Dave wait!"

After Alvin's departure, Karina was silent in her position.

"Karina." cried Steve stepped closer to him.

Karina did not answer. His body just froze in his position, staring at the shadow of Alvin who began to disappear.

"Darling?"

"Steve," Karina looked at Steve intently. "Didn't I leave my phone to you?"

"Karina-"

"Then, did you contact Alvin with my phone?" connect Karina.

Steve got closer to Karina and grabbed her arms, "Darling, I just wanted to have fun."

"So right? Did you contact him earlier? You set him up and used my name?"

"Darling, listen first"

Karina had no intention of answering Steve's words.

"Darling?"

Karina then turned to Steve, looked at the face of her lover for a few seconds still with a sharp look, then…

Everyone was petrified in his place when suddenly Karina slapped Steve on the cheek.

"Karina, you-"

"What have you done, huh?"

"Karina, I just."

"Nobody gave you the right to do this ridiculous thing to him Steve. Moreover, you used my name to frame him."

Karina was about to walk away but was held back by Steve.
