Alvin stopped the motor he was driving near his subscription chicken porridge shop. He turned off the engine and was about to get off.
"Alvin!"
Alvin's movements stopped when he heard someone calling him. He turned to the source of the voice and was surprised to see a beautiful girl standing leaning against the door of his car while waving her hand.
"Hi!" greet the girl again.
Alvin just silently gawked on his bike. He was confused and astonished. What's Evelyn doing here?
Evelyn stepped out her legs, approaching Alvin with her bright smile.
"Miss Evelyn?"
"You call me Miss again?"
"Sorry."
"Evelyn, please." said the girl shaking her hand. "You're my friend, not the servant in my house. I'm not your employer, remember?"
Alvin nodded his head while scratching his nape. He slowly got off his bike and took off the helmet he was wearing and looked back at Evelyn.
"What are you doing here?"
"Eat."
"Huh?"
"It's a chicken porridge shop, Alvin. Of course I came here because I wanted to eat. Especially her?"
"Totally so." Alvin smiled awkwardly.
"You want to eat too, right?"
"Ah, right."
"Then, come on. I'm already so hungry. I've been waiting for you here since. You've been here a long time." Evelyn pulled Alvin's hand.
"You waiting for me?"
"Yes, I want to eat together. Know it? The buyer of the chicken porridge is always full and I'm afraid I'm running out. Obviously I don't want to run out and wastefully wait for you." Evelyn chuckles.
As she had been here a lot, Evelyn quickly ordered chicken porridge and two iced teas for them. Alvin stared at Evelyn's cute curiously ignorant behavior knowing that she had only come here twice.
To be honest, before Alvin still felt the pain last night had not gone away. But as soon as she saw Evelyn, she got excited, like she was back to health again.
"Why are you waiting for me." asked Alvin trying to find a topic.
"Because I want to treat you."
"Are there any events did you treat me to? You're having a birthday?"
"Not."
"Want to succeed at something?"
"No."
"Want to?"
"Why are you asking. Of course because we are friends. Isn't this what friends do? Practicing other friends." explains Evelyn.
"Ah, that's what it looks like."
"You forgot, we're friends now."
"Totally so." Alvin nodded.
Just then their order came. "It's the food" said the seller.
"Thank you, uncle." said Alvin kindly.
Evelyn and Alvin immediately ate the chicken porridge voraciously.
"I'm sure that for a long time I've loved this food more and more" Evelyn chuckled, pointing to her bowl.
Alvin nodded. "This food is so good, who can resist it."
"Yes." answered Evelyn.
Just as they were talking while enjoying the chicken porridge, Alvin's attention was seized by the porridge seller who seemed to be talking to other buyers.
Alvin could hear the seller talking casually with other buyers who were about to pay.
"Miss over there already paid for all the chicken porridge portions today. He asked me to free my chicken porridge for another buyer" the seller pointed at Evelyn.
Alvin who heard that turned to Evelyn. "You've really paid for all the chicken porridge here?"
"Yes, it's true. I told the salesman I wanted to eat with my friend."
"But why should all be bought?"
"Yes, because I don't want the food he's selling to run out. So I'll just buy it."
"Uhuk! Uhuk! Uhuk!"
Alvin suddenly choked on the food in his own mouth after hearing the words Evelyn said. She was surprised to find out the reason Evelyn ordered all the portions was to eat with her.
His hand hurriedly aimed at the glass before him and immediately downed the drink.
Alvin put the drink on the table with a rough slam while the other hand hit his chest.
"You're fine." Evelyn looked worried. "Still need another drink?"
"No, lady answer me first. Miss seriously paid for all the chicken porridge?" ask Alvin.
"Seriously."
"Everyone, miss?"
Evelyn nodded and sumringah. "Yes." Yeah."
"Miss is kidding, right?"
"No. I told you earlier. The buyers are too many and I don't want to run out. I didn't want to fail to treat you, so I decided to just buy all the chicken porridge."
"Miss, we only need two bowls to eat. But why-"
"I want to eat with my friend. If the porridge's gone, what are we gonna eat?" Evelyn casually stirred her drink with a straw then sipped it a little. "I don't think there's anything wrong with that."
Alvin smiled miris. What kind of ridiculous thing is this? Well, there's nothing wrong with that. It was Evelyn's money. But this is overkill.
Why Evelyn had to do this far for friendship. It was easy to spend a lot of money just for lunch. I don't know why suddenly Alvin's stomach feels heartburn.
"You have a stomachache?" evelyn asked, looking at Alvin who was holding his stomach with one hand.
"Aren't you overreacting with this?" Alvin did not answer Evelyn's question and asked back.
Evelyn stared in wonder then shook her head. "No. Taking out that kind of money doesn't matter to me."
Alvin instantly woke up.
Evelyn is no ordinary girl. To spend that money will not interfere with his day at all.
Shaking his head, Alvin smiled in disbelief. He felt a little bad because it made Evelyn spend a lot of money. Even though the girl said it didn't matter, Alvin still felt bad.
Two meals together always Evelyn pays. Alvin should buy Evelyn back next time.
"We're parting ways here!" evelyn said after they came out of the chicken porridge shop.
Alvin nodded in agreement, "By the way thank you for the treat today."
"No problem. We should eat together like this often. You know, it's fun for me.
"Yes, we'll eat next time" Alvin said. "But-"
"Yes? But why?"
"But could you let me treat you next time?"
Evelyn quickly nodded. "Agreed."
"And I don't want you to do anything like this anymore."
"But why?"
"For lunch you don't have to treat people to one village, right?"
Evelyn chuckles.
"I really don't have a problem with that. Counting is sharing."
Alvin. "That's next time let me do it."
"All right, all right." Evelyn said. "By the way, I think I should go now. I have an appointment with my friends in half an hour."
"Oh, then I'll say goodbye too." Alvin replied.
"I'll go first." Evelyn waved her hand and then stepped her foot toward her car
Alvin was riding his bike. He also had to get home faster to do college assignments and also rest because he had to go to work a few more hours.
