Brak!
Alvin placed the thick stack of books he had brought onto his college desk with a rough slash. Dave who was sleeping while cupping his hand was shocked and immediately woke up from his sleep.
"You surprised me." Dave said. "What are you possessed by this early in the morning has gone berserk?"
"Nothing, it's just that my mood is bad."
"You're not a woman, Alvin."
"Want to?"
"Only women whose days are always chaotic because of bad mood."
"Ck, who said. Men can also feel what an ugly mood is, Dave."
"Oh Vin, since when do you like this kind of drama."
Alvin shook his shoulders lazily and began to open one of the thick books he was carrying. Dave was silent, watching his best friend who was focusing on reading books.
"Your sleep must have been less last night?" Dave spoke again.
Alvin stops reading and turns to Dave. "How do you know?"
"You know." said Dave. "Your face is also a bit pale. You sick?"
"I had a fever last night."
"Aren't you supposed to rest at home? Then why did you go to college today?"
"My college tuition is too expensive to be spoiled on sick. After all, today our class has a presentation assignment."
"It's true too, but isn't the next course a task, is it?"
"Then?"
"Can I borrow your assignment?" pinta Dave blinked one eye while Alvin rolled his eyeballs lazily. "
"I'm sorry I came this morning." said Alvin but kept getting out his book.
Dave just chuckled in response. He picked up the book that Alvin offered with a satisfied smile.
"I copy it first." said Dave who was nodding back by Alvin.
The two are silent for a while, Alvin reads a book while Dave is busy copying tasks at the speed of light.
But suddenly Alvin's phone on the table shook. Alvin knows that. He checked the name on the screen and decided not to pick it up until the phone stopped vibrating.
It wasn't until thirty seconds that Alvin's phone was back on its feet. Someone called him back and Alvin still seemed to have no intention of answering.
Up to the third phone, Dave who had not cared much since then finally began to feel curious. He glanced at Alvin's cell phone and raised his head, staring at Alvin and his cell phone in turn.
Dave was astonished, the young man did not seem to be disturbed at all. He was so calm with the reading book in his hands.
"Hey, your phone's ringing." Dave pointed at Alvin's phone with the bolpoint he was holding.
"I know." Alvin was still staring at the reading book in his hand. "Leave it."
"Why not get caught?"
"It doesn't matter."
"That guy called you many times. That must be important.
Once again, Alvin's phone was shaking. The same number contacted him again but it seemed Alvin really didn't want to pick him up until the call was off.
Dave chuckled, "Seriously Alvin, I didn't know you were such an arrogant kid. You seem to have a problem just picking up a phone call."
"That's a call from Karina. So, whether I'm arrogant or not, I'll never pick it up either."
"Who?" Dave rounded his eyes. He didn't hear wrong, did he? Alvin just mentioned the name of the snake woman. "Karina did you say?"
"true."
"This is Karina calling you?" ask Dave in flames. "You serious, Vin?"
Alvin nodded. "Yes,"
Without thinking any longer, Dave immediately shifted the red button on Alvin's phone. "Then don't lift it up."
"I won't lift it."
Dave crossed his arms and leaned his back against the back of the chair. It clucked. "Ck, what else did that girl call you?"
"I don't know, I didn't pick up the phone from him."
Dave looked at Alvin in confusion. "I thought he stopped calling you."
"That's what I was curious about, too. He kept calling me, it's been a few days. He even came to see me at home."
"Yes, last night."
"Then did he say anything to you?" Dave was curious. "I mean, what does he want from you?"
"So, he did look strange these days."
"Weird how?"
"Yes weird. He forced me not to get too close to a girl he didn't like."
"You close to someone?"
"Not really."
Dave frowning funny. What Alvin really means now. "What exactly do you mean."
"I told you. I met a girl. He also saved me from Karina's insults the other day. And it turns out that Karina and the girl have a conflict. As a result Karina doesn't want me anywhere near."
Hearing that explanation, Dave almost choked on his own saliva.
"Why he told you this and that without remembering that you have no relationship. It's like he forgot he decided on you."
Alvin was silent for a while. He closed his reading book and let out a slow breath.
"She also offered to come back with me."
"Huh?"
"Every night, when he came to see me at home, he said he could come back with me as long as I wasn't with that woman anymore."
"Ck, Karina must be crazy. He acts like he can manage your life."
***
After the first hour of college. Alvin decided to go to the toilet. He continued to move his legs, passing the campus warehouse which was near the toilet.
Alvin saw a group of men sitting near the barn.
"Oh wow, look who this is. The most popular man on our campus." said one of them.
Alvin stopped and realized that the one who spoke was Steve. Wait, aren't their faculties different. Why Steve was in his school.
"I've been waiting for today. I'm not even willing to go to college to meet you" Steve said.
With a smile Steve approached Alvin who was currently standing stiff.
The young man looked at Alvin from head to toe. He raised next to his eyebrows when he saw the shoes Arvin was currently using.
The next second, Steve scolded cynically. "You're really a poor man apparently. Look at these torn shoes." - Steve sneered.
The group then laughed.
Alvin smiled wryly. Especially now. Was not satisfied also this man insulted himself all this time?
Alvin sighed resignedly, "I want to pass."
"Oh, wait a minute, okay!"
"I'm curious about you. Well, I want to know if you can finance your girlfriend later with your situation like this."
"Excuse me, I have nothing to do with you" Alvin said, leaving Steve.
"You're trying to get close to Karina again?"
Alvin flicked his steps and turned around. "What?"
"I know you still like Karina. I know that you guys met behind me a few times."
"It's not me." Alvin smiled in anguish. "But it was Karina who tried to approach me again."
"You kidding me?" Steve laughs. "Maybe you forgot or you're just stupid. But let me remind you again. Here, Karina herself has already dumped you. How could he approach you."
"I'm not lying. It was Karina who -"
Steve just pulled the collar of the shirt that Alvin was wearing.
"Look! I don't care who gets you here first. This is the first and last warning for you. Karina is precious to me. So, you can't try to get close to her anymore."
After saying that, Steve pushed Alvin's body until the skinny young man's back hit the wall behind him.
"Now go and do something more useful."
Alvin stared at the group who currently seemed to be laughing mocking him. He sighed and stepped on his feet, not going to the toilet.
