Time feels like walking on all fours. The clock on the wall seemed to be immobile and continued to stick to the number 3, while the work was still a lot and piled on the table. Rani tried her hardest, but it felt too hard to focus her attention on her work again. The letters on the computer were like rows of ants piled up in his eyes.
Rani got up from her chair, grabbed her phone and grabbed her fast bag which was on the shelf. He needed some fresh air and decided to get out of his room. “May, Where are you? I'd like to meet you now.”
Waving his hand at his men who came with a pile of files in hand, who looked at him in confusion and bowed shoulders listlessly.
“Put it on my work table, I'll check it later.” Rani said, walking quickly to the car park and immediately darted away from the office building area to the Maya residence. When the door in front of him was opened, Rani immediately rushed into the arms of her best friend.
Rani spills all her fret over the course of a month on Maya, and her best friend becomes a good listener this time. Time to be serious, Rani is in need of her support.
“I love him, and it's like crazy to keep missing him. Wishing every day to hear her voice and see her again,” Rani said with teary eyes.
A month passed since her return from her grandmother's farm, during which time Rani never heard from King again. The man could never be reached, his cell phone was always inactive. Rani tries to talk to Gaby and her grandmother, and they all say the same thing that the man is busy with all his work and cannot be disturbed.
“You even cried for him.” Maya rubs the corner of Rani's dewy eyes and turns to embrace her, rubbing his back and whispering encouraging words so that his friend is strong and continues to fight for his love for King who has captured all his heart and mind.
Rani comes home with a much calmer heart, after talking to Maya. He returned to his office and worked late into the night, completing all the pending work.
The next few days were fast, even on weekends like today Rani continued to busy herself with work. At night he fell asleep exhausted and as usual returned to dreaming of King. The man was present in his dream even though it was just an unreal shadow, then disappeared quickly when the morning greeted when Rani woke up and opened her eyes.
“King,” Rani's lips whispered softly mentioning King's name, not feeling her eyes warm. The shadow of King's face was again present in his mind, Rani closed her eyes again.
Every second, every day, through it without ever being able to remove the shadow of King from his mind. Rani blinked and a clear grain flowed again on her cheek. He should get used to the absence of the man near him now. Because of King, he easily shed tears.
The sound of a knock on the door distracts Rani, she rubs her wet cheeks and is surprised to see mama come in carrying a cake with a lot of candles lit on it. Then followed by the crowded sound of his two nephews who immediately barged in and jumped up onto his bed.
“Come, blow the candles Onty!” pinta Leon, Wilda's eldest son, is impatient. While Sandra's sister, has since continued to move her lips and resonate in the arms of the mother.
Rani frowned while trying to remember something, then cupped her lips with her eyes back in tears when she remembered that Saturday was her birthday.
“Let's sing together for Onty Rani,” take Yola Rani's second brother who appeared with Wilda, he immediately held Sandra's hand who wanted to try the cake in the hands of mama.
“Happy birthday dear youngest daughter Mama. Healthy always and achieved all his ideals and hopes.” Mama sat on the edge of the bed, then held out the cake in her hand in front of Rani.
Rani blew her birthday cake and immediately hugged her mother tightly, then switched to hugging her two brothers. Lastly embracing his two nieces who immediately broke away as soon as he saw mama carrying the cake out of his room.
“Rani, you need to get out of your room now. Because your grandmother will come and stay at our house tonight!” yelled mama, who instantly made Rani flinch.
“True, grandma will come stay overnight at our house?” rani asked repeating her words, her heart suddenly thumped. Is King going to come and be with his grandmother?
“Grandmother will come along with Gaby and her husband, mom invited them all to stay at our house.” Yola replied, as if she could read Rani's mind.
“Oh.” Rani nodded and could not hide her disappointment. He did not see Yola smiling meaningfully and blinked her eyes at Wilda.
“It feels like a long time ago I didn't meet Grandma, last time was in the hospital when I gave birth to Sandra.” Wilda threw her body on the bed, immediately pulled a roll and hugged her while closing her eyes.
“Why are you all still here? Come on, help Mama cook in the kitchen!” mama yelled again, shaking her waist at the door.
When afternoon came, the waiting guests arrived. The atmosphere that had been crowded was getting boisterous with the arrival of the grandmother. Rani hugs grandma whispering in her ear, “Because it's your birthday, Grandma has a gift for you. After dinner, Grandma will give you.”
Rani thanked him, eager to ask King's news to his grandmother. But it seems like grandma is looking to take off kangen with her mom and brother, so Rani must be patient waiting.
Rani tries to talk to Gaby, but Hary doesn't give her a chance to get close and leaves her far away. Rani wondered, why did everyone avoid talking to her.
Dinner was intimate and filled with laughter, but no one mentioned King's name and asked about Rani's relationship with him. They actually tease more Gaby the newlywed who looks still shy.
Grandma called him to sit nearby, grandma gave him a gift of a box of gold jewelry for her. “Grandma has kept it for a long time, and Grandma gave it to you today because Grandma believes you have found your soul mate and are ready to marry her.”
Rani accepted it with joy. He was stunned for a moment, trying to digest his grandmother's speech. Does that mean Grandma believes that she has met her soul mate? Rani hopes her grandmother's speech will soon become a reality. And the man who will marry her one day is King.
Gaby gives her a gift of her own hand-knitted scarf, she wants Rani to wear it that night. Rani complies with Gaby's request and sees her best friend smiling at her.
The night grew late, Grandma and Gaby had been resting since. They were exhausted after a long journey. Rani chooses to be alone in the garden behind her house while staring at the moon, she sits there and does not realize there is a pair of eyes that keep watching from a distance.
Rani straightened her back hearing the sound of leaves being stepped on, she turned her head quickly and was shocked to see King walking towards her while spreading both arms wide.
“King, Is that you?” Rani had to rub her eyes, had not believed in her vision.
“Heii, it's Me.” Said King smiling warmly looking at Rani.
“King!”
Rani immediately ran over and hugged King tightly. He cupped King's face and unhesitatingly kissed his lips longing, and King replied the same.
It took almost two months for King to prepare to come and see Rani. He must first complete all matters related to his work on the farm.
King released the link of his lips, he rubbed Rani's tear-soaked cheeks. “You're crying again.”
“I cried happy to see you come to see me again, I thought you've forgotten me.”
King kissed Rani's forehead deep and long, and Rani closed her eyes. “I don't like to see you cry, I think my arrival will be a pleasant surprise for you.”
“Of course, you're the most beautiful surprise of my life. You give me a color in my life, I'm in love half to death with you and want to be with you always.” Rani expresses her heart feeling for the second time to King.
King grabs Rani's hand and kisses her slowly, leading her to the middle of the garden. King took out a tiny box from inside his shirt pocket, then squatted down with one leg bent on the floor. “Maharani Princess, will you marry me?”
Rani gasped at the tiny box containing two gold and diamond rings inside, then turned to look at King. His face warmed, the corners of his eyes dewy. “I'm willing.”
The lights around the garden instantly lit up together, then everyone emerged from inside the house clapping and laughing happily. Rani ran to hug her grandmother and repeatedly thanked her. Grandma hugged him tightly back while giving her thumbs up to the smiling King nodded.
A week later Rani and King get married, and their wedding party is celebrated back at Maggie's farm. Everyone rejoices and prays for the happiness of both.
