Chapter 39. Head for the field

“King,” call Rani with a quivering voice, she pushes firmly on Andre's chest and manages to break away from his embrace. Her knees were shaking, her hair was untied and her hair was falling apart as a result of forcing Andre's hand while trying to kiss her.

King glanced at Rani, the look in his eyes revealed a sense of disappointment that was so obvious. “If you two are done giving up longing, I wait immediately in the field.”

Andre grimaced hearing it. He tidied up his shirt, buttoning back the top of his open shirt. He restored his hair, a triumphant grin clearly visible on his face. “You know, we haven't seen each other in a long time. What you just saw earlier, is a form of expression of our longing all this time.”

“You!” Rani screamed with a trembling voice, her eyes gleaming in anger. He shook his head in disbelief to hear Andre making up a false story, and he could see the change in King's face and knew that the man believed completely in all Andre's words to him

King's face turned stiff, he slowly walked up to Andre. “I remind you, you only have forty-eight hours in this farmhouse and two weeks to finish all your business in this place. So, take your time as best you can if you really want to have a farm land Mr. Philips.”

Andre shriveled, he could see the anger in King's eyes. But he did not want to give up, he knew the man before him was burning with jealous flames. He shrugged and smiled meaningfully at Rani. “I remember it well, Mr. Hardy. Instead I was taking this very short time to let go of my longing together with my fiancee Rani.”

King clenched his hand, trying to hold back. “As far as you are, Mr. Hutama. But I remind you once more. Here we live in a neighborhood that is still conservative and holds very high moral rules. If I see you making out with your fiance in a public place like this, I'm not afraid to beat you both up.”

“King!” rani exclaimed in disbelief, surprised to hear King's words.

The man did not look at Rani in the slightest, his face flat and stiff. Before Rani could reply to her words, King immediately turned his body out of the place as soon as he finished talking to Andre.

“OK, it's up to you Mr. Hardy. If you know like this, I will certainly find a safe place to be alone with my fiance.” Andre said while shrugging his shoulders. He passed from before Rani and followed King's steps behind her.

Rani looks out the window, and sees Andre winking one eye at her. Fed up and humiliation surrounded Rani's heart, she could not prevent Andre from doing crazy things to her. And sadly again, Rani knows for sure King trusts all Andre says. What happened before his eyes was enough as proof for him. I don't feel the corners of his eyes watering.

“Rani, are you okay?” Gaby appeared nearby, and gently touched her shoulder.

Rani turns her head, nods at Gaby and tries to display her smile. He walked back to his desk and grabbed his drinking glass. Rani desperately tries to be tough, refraining from shedding tears.

“Tehnya hot,” said Rani with a laugh, he lowered his drinking glass then grabbed a few sheets of tissue and immediately rubbed his lips that looked vibrating.

Gaby took a breath, and turned her head out of the room. And that opportunity Rani used to wipe the tears that pooled in the corner of her eyes.

“I've spoken to dad, but I can't do anything about it if within two weeks the guy manages to keep his promise and pays our farm cash as agreed.” Gaby cupped Rani's hand and patted her gently.

“I understand,” said Rani, she could not hide her tears that now flow without being prevented. “I think I've managed to get rid of that man from my life, but it turns out I was wrong. He came back and appeared when I began to open my heart and love other men. He has really messed up my life.”

“Gaby, I'm coming!”

Before long a voice of someone yelling called out to Gaby, and the woman smiled wryly at Rani. He let go of his hand in Rani's hand.

“It looks like we are destined to have the same fate today.” Gaby stood up, “You know, today we are faced with two of the most annoying men in this place.”

“But you're luckier than I am. Although Hary's being annoying, but he's not cheating on you. And he fought hard to get your love,” said Rani with a sad smile. “While I am, cheated on my fiance with my own best friend. And now the sweet relationship with King that has just been established in this place, maybe it will only be a memory.”

“Hey, Miss Empress Princess. Don't be such a pessimist, spirit! The Rani I know doesn't give up that easily. You have to prove to King that what happened to you and Andre was just a man's fabrication to destroy your sweet relationship right now, if you need to you should tell King that you love him.” Gaby said encouragingly as she hugged Rani's shoulder.

Gaby smirked, sitting opposite Rani. “King will never do that to you, he loves you so much. I can see it every time you're together. And I believe, You too will be able to conquer King's heart and make him believe in you again.”

“And if it could be that easy convince King's heart,” said Rani, sighing deeply.

“Hey, here you guys apparently?” Hary suddenly appears and stands near Gaby and Rani's table, holding both hands up to the table and looking at Gaby affectionately.

“How did you get into this house?” gaby asked, looking out of the room. He was astonished to find Hary easily getting in there without any commotion happening like before with the workers.

Hary pulled the chair beside her, then sat down sweetly without letting go of her gaze in the slightest on Gaby. It makes Gaby wrong behavior with cheeks that suddenly blush.

“Sorry, Miss Rani. Can you just let me be alone with Gaby in this place, now?” hary said without looking at Rani.

“No!” rani answers briefly, then grabs Gaby's arm and takes her walking out of the room. “Unless you want to get hit by a shovel by King!”

“Hey, King can't do that to me anymore. I came here precisely on orders from him,” Hary said.

Rani turned around, and looked at Hary sharply. But the man still couldn't take his eyes off Gaby. “You are a bitch. Look at me if you talk to me, and stop staring at Gaby!”

Gaby gave a smile again, seeing Hary scratching his nape. “What did King tell you?” the question is then, which makes Hary's face sparkle.

“She said, I should keep Miss Rani away from her and prevent her from seeing a horse taming match between herself and master Hutama.” Answer Hary.

"Then, why did you ask Rani to leave so that she could talk to me?" gaby said annoyed.

Hearing that, Rani immediately pulled Gaby's arm and took her away from there. He ignored Hary's screams behind him. “We have to get there, I'm afraid something will happen to both of them and King can't control his emotions.”

“Hey, don't tell her that I didn't warn you guys not to come there!” hary exclaimed, standing with both hands at the waist. But he ran and followed Rani and Gaby from behind.

A few moments later they arrived there. Farm workers have gathered in the field, an empty land used by farm workers to practice taming horses. A spacious place surrounded by a fence of mahogany wood pieces where King and Andre will soon compete to tame horses in minutes.

There was one horse that had been prepared by Leo, one of the foremen of the workers who was also an expert in taming horses. A black horse tied to a harness tethered to a fence, will be the mount of both of them.

“King!” shout Rani. He runs and climbs over the fence, but Hary is immediately prevented. King and Andre were talking to Leo and did not hear Rani's screams.

The workers who saw the three of them coming there, immediately called them and invited them to stand watching outside the field fence. Soon King and Andre walked into the field.

“King!” yell Rani again. King turned his head for a moment, then refocused on the horse in front of him. He got his first turn and prepared to wear gloves.
