Chapter 29. A chance for Hary

The room in the old warehouse looked messy, sacks of animal feed were falling and some of the contents scattered everywhere.

King leads the shocked Gaby to sit at one of the tables, and lets the woman calm down first. He called Jack and Ed to go there.

“Do you need help?” king exclaimed to Hary, the man told him that he would try to persuade Ed to give him the management of the feed store. Because it's impossible to keep Parker from working there after what he did to Gaby.

“No need, I can handle it.” Hary shook his head, he rolled his sleeves up to the elbow limit and started working.

“I can't believe you want to do all that. Is that your way of impressing Ed?”

Hary smiled slantingly, she turned to Gaby who was sitting quietly in her place. The two's gaze met for a moment, and Gaby immediately turned the other way. He held tightly to the end of the man's jacket vest he wore.

King stands watching Hary who is trying to move two large sacks of animal feed that fell and blocked the road, smiling faintly when he realizes Hary's interest in Gaby.

Parker sat languidly on the floor, holding his face. There was a bluish bruise on her cheek from Hary's punch.

Moments later, the sound of a car entering the storefront, followed by the appearance of a tall, sturdy man in a police uniform knocking on the door of the warehouse and walking in.

All eyes turned to him, Hary stopped his work and stood with his back straight waiting for what would happen next.

“King,” said to King who nodded back, and let him walk closer to where Gaby was then crouched in front of her checking her condition.

“Master Jack,” said Gaby looking at the man before her, her voice sounding weak.

Jack's face looked stiff, and the look in his eyes seemed to harbor anger. He examined the wound on Gaby's arm and her torn shirt. “Are you okay?” he asked with a heavy voice.

Gaby's eyes began to glaze over, she bit her lips first before starting to talk. “The man locked the warehouse door while I was inside arranging the goods. She surprised me, pulled me forcibly and cornered me into the wall.”

Gaby's cry broke out, with a stammering voice she continued her speech. “He tried to kiss me forcibly, I tried to fight and the man tore my shirt off ... Dia, day ..” Gaby couldn't continue.

“How could he get a cut on his face like that?” jack asked, looking at Parker.

“Hary came to my aid, he did. Hary who hit the man,” Gaby replied then looked at Hary.

Jack patted Gaby on the shoulder slowly, “I need a statement from you to make a statement in my office about this incident. You can come after feeling good enough. And I promise you, she will never be able to touch you again.”

“Thank you, Mr.”

Jack stood up, he turned to Hary and raised his hand telling the man to come closer and whispered softly in his ear. “Can you help bring Gaby to the clinic to treat her injuries? I'll pretend I never heard that you hit that guy.”

“Yes, Sir! I'll do it.” Answer Hary quickly.

“I'll take Gaby to the doctor,” by King, then sighed Gaby's shoulder and led her to walk outside.

“King! Didn't you hear Mr Jack talk to me? I'll take Gaby to the clinic.” Hary Protests.

“I didn't hear it, nor did Gaby want to go with you.”

“I'll go with King,” Gaby said, he held King's arm.

“You heard no, Gaby will go with me!”

“I like to see there is competition here.” Jack flicked his hand and walked over to Parker. The man retreated while shaking his head realizing Jack's angry look at him.

“Don't touch Me, I'm innocent!” exclaim Parker.

Jack pulled Parker's arm and jerked his body to stand, pulled the handcuffs on his waist and put them in the man's hands while reciting his rights.

“Let go of my hand, I'm innocent. That woman who teased me, she needed money and started seducing me. I haven't even managed to kiss her!” shouted Parker. “And that unlucky young man, he hit me. She's jealous of me because Gaby prefers me.”

Nobody listened to Parker, Jack took him to his car and the man kept talking in self-defense.

Coinciding with Jack who was about to turn his car, came another car and stopped right in front of him.

“Mr Donovan?” parker's face was pale to see his boss coming.

“What happened to him?” ask Ed to Jack.

Soon King, Hary, and Gaby emerge from the store. When he saw Gaby's miserable condition, Ed could already guess what happened.

“She tried to harass the female employee, and the girl had a cut on her arm was also shocked.” Answer Jack.

“It turns out I misjudged you, You came up with your best resume and promised to advance my store.” Ed's disappointed. “You I fired!”

“Master, I'm innocent. The woman seduced me, and the man hit me. Master can't just fire me, I'm innocent!”

Jack stared at her, Parker fell silent and kept silent until they arrived at the police station and Jack threw her in jail.

Ed walked up to the three people in front of him, staring pityfully at Gaby. King pulled over and sat watching on the empty bench in front of the store, giving Ed and Gaby a chance to talk and sort things out and Hary stayed close to the two of them.

“Pardon my mistake, until you have to experience something like this.” Ed said with a sorry face.

“I ... I have to say to Mister, I can't work in this store anymore. Thank you for caring about me.” Said Gaby.

“I'll triple your salary as long as you keep helping me work here. I'll find the male workers and you just have to work watching them.” Persuade Ed.

“Sorry, Sir. I can't,” said Gaby again.

“Parker I've fired, and Hary will manage this store. I really hope you want to undo your intention to quit here and help Hary run this store.”

“So uncle agrees I run this store?” between Hary, his eyes sparkled happy to know that his uncle had agreed and would hand the feed store to him.

“Do I have to say it again, You've heard it. I hope you are able to run this business and do your best, do not break the trust I have given you.”

Gaby's decision was unanimous, she chose to quit from there. Especially when he heard that Hary was going to manage the place. Ed returns home after unsuccessfully convincing Gaby to keep working at his store.

“King, can we go now?” call Gaby.

“King, please let me talk to Gaby.” first Hary Pinta.

King complies and gives Hary a chance to talk to Gaby. The two then engage in a conversation, more like a quarrel because Gaby continues to deny Hary's words to him.

Gaby ruffled waist, “I won't go with you! You did help me, but that doesn't mean you have the power to rule my life.”

“In retrospect, there is a point in your saying as well.” Hary muttered, and moved towards Gaby. “I do not have the right to manage the lives of others as I want.”

“But you are no one else to me. Because after today, I'll take care of the papers for our wedding preparations. And before I do that, I'll take you shopping to the city, to buy clothes and change your broken clothes.”

“Hary Donovan!” gaby protested, as soon as Hary lifted his body and shouldered it like a sack of rice.

“King, You have to help me!”

King asked Hary, “Where are you going to take Gaby away?”

“King, You can wait for me while I take her to go shopping in the city.” Hary said.

“But Gaby has to see a doctor first,” Sergah King.

“I will do it King,” Hary said. “This time alone, can you help me keep an eye on the store while we go?”

And Hary manages to get King to keep up with her words again, King watches over the shop while waiting for them to return from the city.
