Chapter 24. Modulance

King brought Rani to one place, from a distance there was already the sound of water falling. King tethered his horse to a large tree with a lot of grass underneath.

Rani follows King's steps from behind, they pass the path and descend until they arrive at one place. “What is this place, King?”

Rani twisted her body, stunned by the beautiful scenery around her until she had to close her mouth.

“This is a bathing pool of residents in our place. Still original and untouched by dirty hands of humans, and we will continue to keep it.”

“Is there anyone who has malicious intentions and wants to ruin this place?” rani asked, and King gritted his teeth.

“Some people from outside the area are there who intend to buy land in this area, but residents refuse it. The original landowner is dead, but his heir is still alive. And Mr. Adam had no intention of selling it and asked us to take care of this place with all the citizens,” King said.

Rani nodded in understanding, from King's story she could guess what the desire of the person who intended to buy land in the area.

“This place is really amazing, it could be the best tour for the surrounding residents. No need to go all the way out of town, because you have this place.”

It feels like Rani is impatient to get down and throw herself in there. The view below is amazing.

“I never thought you had a place as beautiful as this,” said Rani with sparkling eyes.

“I can see it, your eyes say it.” Said King, whom Rani responded with a wide smile.

It was surrounded by huge trees, hidden among the surrounding nature. The waterfall falls from behind the hillside. The spark of water that floated in the air like a foggy foam, giving rise to a beautiful view colorful like a rainbow when hit by sunlight. While the water flowing underneath is crystal clear.

“Residents in this area use this place to unwind after tired work. You will feel the sensation of being massaged when the waterfall falls and touches your skin directly.”

Rani did not stop muttering her admiration. He hurried to take off his jacket and boots, swallowed with his feet ready to walk down the street filled with large stones around him. “I really can't wait to try it.”

King reached out his hand, helped him down and guided Rani into the water. Nyes! A cold sensation was immediately felt on his feet.

Rani laughed happily, washing her face with water underneath. King stepped slowly and walked away, letting Rani play water like a child. He sat on a large rock and kept his eyes on the woman.

Rani tried to stand up straight and develop her hands. The surrounding water currents were so fast, many of the boulders below were shiny like mirrors struck by sunlight.

“King, the water is cold once.” Rani screamed with trembling body, her hands cupping her face. His teeth were cold, but only for a little while as he felt the water beneath him warm up.

“Do you want to get out of there?” King shouted back.

“Tidaak!” Rani shook her head strongly, King laughed at hearing that.

Rani then lowered her body and bent her legs, getting into the water until only her neck was visible.

“Hey Miss, be careful. You must stay on your feet on that big rock and look at the other rock below you, lest your feet get hurt!” Shouted King reminded.

Rani did not hear King's scream, as she was drowning her face in the water. When it appeared on the surface, Rani rubbed her face and flicked her wet hair.

“Did you say something just now, King. I didn't hear it!” Rani moves her hands and turns her body, the clothes she wears bulging and rising to the surface making her upper body open.

“Hei!” King stood up, his voice stuck in his throat. He did not continue his speech and chose to sit back, continuing to watch Rani from the top of the big rock.

Rani dissolves in excitement to forget the eyes of King who keeps looking at her and can not take his eyes off her.

“King!”

One loud shout Rani like a frightened person, jerking King's consciousness. The man was aghast and immediately jumped into the water, swimming towards Rani who was sitting curled up on the rock.

“What happened?” king asked and staggered back as soon as Rani hit his chest.

“I saw the animal again, he was twitching in the water.” Clearly Rani hid her face on King's chest, pointing in any direction with her hands still hugging King's waist.

King turned his face, then looked at the water below him. His lips covered the smile as he looked at the long eel-like fish twitching in the small rock crevice. But that smile turned into a frown upon seeing the blood coming out of Rani's legs.

“Looks like your leg is hurt, I have to see it.” King stretched Rani's embrace on her body.

“I have to bandage your wound.” King looked at Rani, “Can you walk alone?”

Rani immediately stood up, and forgot that the stone she was treading was slippery and she almost slipped. Luckily King's hand caught him, Rani fell into King's arms again.

“Looks like I have to carry you,” said King, and without asking Rani for approval she immediately slipped both her hands on her waist and knees.

They looked at each other, King's eyes were directed at Rani's trembling lips. While Rani's eyes were fixed on King's lips that were tightly closed and looked like a line that formed beautifully on his handsome face. They pretended not to be aware of the physical contact that occurred.

Suddenly King shook his head and spoke half muttered, “I should continue to be near you, so you don't need to get hurt like this.”

“I trouble you again by carrying me like this,” reply Rani no less quietly.

King takes her up, and covers Rani's wet body with his jacket. “You should change your wet clothes immediately. I hope you don't catch a cold or catch a cold because of the cold.”

King took off his shirt, and left his chest temporarily open. Rani bites her lips at the unusual sight of King's strapping body.

Before he could guess what King would do next, the man had already ripped off the arm of his shirt and wrapped it at Rani's feet.

Rani did not dare to move, even though her heart was anxious. King's hair was wet and dangling on his forehead, with all his might Rani refrained from reaching out her hand and stroking the hair then pulled King to come closer. A strange feeling surrounded him, he wanted King to hug him again.

“Don't keep looking at me like that.” King talked to him.

“What's it like?” rani asked not understanding.

“I could have gotten out of control and pounced on you right now,” King said with a hard-to-understand look.

“You remind me of the cartoon my niece watched. The dinosaur had grabbed the body of its victim and hung it on a tall tree. Is that what you're gonna do to me?”

King laughs at it, “Tell your nephew that, don't watch dinosaur cartoons again.”

“I also hope so, but my brother always can't bear to hear every cry.” Suddenly, Rani misses the funny behavior of her nephew in her house.

King's gaze softened, he rubbed Rani's legs. He could see the warmth in those eyes when the two's gaze met.

King turned his back, and lowered his body. “Get on my back, I'll take you home.”

Rani laughed, she put her arms around King's neck and hugged the man from behind. King helped her get on the horse and brought her back to the farm.

Along the way Rani tries to close her eyes by closing her body on King's chest and sticking her face in the niche of the man's neck.

I just broke up, you know! And I'm not in the mood to have a serious relationship with any man.

King dyed Rani's head in hair, half a whisper he asked, “I'm like hearing you talk to yourself.”

Rani opens her eyes and then shakes her head, “It seems you can hear my inner voice while talking.”

King laughed hearing that, and Rani closed her eyes again. Maybe it was true that he had fallen in love with King, as King had heard.
