Chapter 46. Time to go back home

Two weeks passed quickly, Rani's vacation was about to end. Tomorrow afternoon he had to return home to the city, leaving everyone who had accompanied him to spend his off days at Maggie's ranch.

Andre had gone home first, after Maggie's mistress made sure to buy the farm owned by Mr. Philips right on the day he got word from the bank that his credit application was rejected.

“Seeing the way you look at it, and keep sticking tight to it like this. It feels like I won't be able to compete with him, no matter how hard I try to mess with your relationship.” Andre said shortly before he said goodbye to Rani and King.

“Honestly, I was provoked by emotions and did not believe him. But it's all over.” King summed up Rani's shoulder and looked at her deeply, and without a sigh peeked in front of Andre.

“I'm sorry, I hope you forgive me. And thank you for accepting well my presence in this place,” Andre said sincerely expressing his regret.

King smiled at him, he had forgiven all Andre's actions to the two of them after hearing Rani's confession to him. “Happy way.”

King and Rani drive Andre all the way to the car that will take him back to town.

A few days later in the presence of the notary and all the farm workers who were there, Madame Maggie announced that she had purchased the land of Mr. Philips' farm.

Mrs Maggie presented her with proof of payment transaction, which was corroborated with the bank's data that some money had entered into the account on behalf of Mr. Mikael Philips.

“I will also attract and re-employ cowboys who have previously worked with Mr. Philips, and I implore you all to help each other.” Miss Maggie said she nodded at King who came closer.

“I have also appointed King back as the head foreman here to be able to supervise and of course run all our work here,” added Madam Maggie again, who immediately got the support of all the workers who were there.

“King, we all count on you!” shouted all of them, which King greeted by opening his hat and sticking it to his chest while bowing half his body.

“Thank you for giving me this huge trust and support. I will try as much as possible and as hard as I can. I will not disappoint Madame Maggie's expectations as well as all of you,” said the spirit King.

King will certainly be more busy in the next few months, because he must oversee the new farmland. There will be a lot of construction of new cages, fences, and stables there, as well as livestock breeding developers. All the new duties and responsibilities were on King's shoulders at the moment.

Last night at the farm, Rani spends her time with King and the workers there. They made a bonfire, the atmosphere of the night looked like a party. Madame Maggie aided the ranch housekeeper to cook a lot of food for all of them, Rani was so moved to see it.

“When time can be played back, I hope to stay longer here.” Rani hugged King's arm and leaned her cheek on the man's shoulder.

King smiled and rubbed Rani's cheeks, they were both enjoying a warm drink in the same container. Rani corrected the location of the blanket on her feet, her attention was now on the couple who came hand in hand and went straight to them.

Gaby looks timid and instantly lets go of Hary's hand, as soon as Rani straightens up and asks him to sit nearby. King patted the ground next to him gesturing for Hary, before the man started talking to him.

“I have asked Mr. Philips for permission and he has given us his blessing.” Hary glanced for a moment at Gaby who lowered her face staring at the ground in front of her, she moistened her lips before continuing to speak. “I will soon marry Gaby, and we will run the animal feed business together.”

Rani turned her head quickly to Gaby and hugged her tightly, she had not expected to hear this good news in such a fast time. “Congratulations, dear.” Rani's whisper in Gaby's ear.

“Marriage is done not just for a moment, but forever. I hope you mean it and no one feels compelled to do it,” said King, glancing at Gaby who was returning Rani's embrace. She thinks of Gaby as her own sister.

Gaby lets go of Rani's embrace, she looks at King and talks to him to reassure the man. “I am willing to accept Hary to be my husband, there is not the slightest doubt in this heart after seeing the seriousness of the attitude he has shown me all along. I mean it.”

Hary frowned her shoulders, grimacing at King's threatening words to her. “You must trust me, and I promise as a true man to respect and treat my wife to the best of her.”

King was relieved to hear it, he patted Hary on the shoulder and smiled widely. “You also got my blessing, as an older brother of the bride-to-be.”

Gaby blushed hearing that, Rani laughed happily. After the bad thing that happened to Gaby before, now his best friend is getting his happiness.

“When is your plan to get married?” ask Rani later.

“In the near future, after I finish all the affairs.” Answer Hary who is also called Gaby.

Hary and Gaby leave after feeling enough to talk to King and Rany, they join the workers for a moment and leave shortly after.

“I'm not sure they can hold back before the wedding day,” King said as he sipped his coffee, staring straight ahead.

Rani frowned, then smiled as soon as she saw Hary's attitude that looked so possessive wrapped her arms around Gaby's waist. And Gaby who was getting close to her body walked together until she disappeared behind the walls of the farmhouse.

“Especially if Hary has made a decision,” said Rani held back her smile.

King chuckles, embraces Rani's neck and kisses her cheeks fat. Rani retaliates by wrapping her arms and locking King's waist, laying her face down for a moment in the warmth of the man's chest.

“King, You know I have to return to the city tomorrow.”

“I know.”

“It feels like wanting to continue with you here,” said Rani again, further shrinking her face in King's chest.

King looked up, looking at the night sky that looked beautiful because the moon looks so perfectly round up there. He nodded slowly, as if unwilling to part with Rani tomorrow.

“Tomorrow time I have to go back to collect the lost cattle with the workers. But, I'll try to see you before you go home.”

“I will wait for you and see you come and take me away,” reply Rani, looking up at King.

King lowered his face, and kissed Rani's open lips. Spilling all the flavors he had on the girl, and Rani also reciprocated the same.

Until the next day, when Rani finished saying goodbye to everyone on the farm, King did not appear. Even when Leo escorted him to the airport, King was nowhere to be seen. Rani tried to smile even though her heart was disappointed.

“Good way, Miss. Good luck to your destination.”
