My Beloved Cowboy's

My Beloved Cowboy's
Chapter 25. Grandma's worries

It felt so warm and cozy when Rani leaned her face against King's chest. He moved slowly, and began to adjust his body position with his hands still hugging King's waist.

“Do you mind if I fall asleep at this time?” Rani's eyes slowly closed. “It feels like these eyes are heavy once.”

Without waiting for King's approval, Rani falls asleep quickly. King held onto his horse harness casually, Rani did not even feel the shock on her body due to the uneven path.

“Sleep, I'll wake you when we get to.”

The wind was blowing slowly, not as hard as this morning. The blue sky was partially covered in white clouds, and the sun was moving away. The weather was not as harsh as before, King's eyes squinted with his face looking up. The man's lips curled up, nature today is so friendly.

For a moment King lowered his face looking at Rani's dangling legs and pressed down next to her feet. The woman sat on her side and leaned comfortably on her chest. His eyes were tightly closed, his breathing down and up regularly. King shook his head in disbelief, how could Rani fall asleep so soundly while on horseback with him.

It felt like King had not felt this one feeling again for a long time. These few days he spends difficult nights as his mind is filled with thoughts considering how sweet Rani's lips taste when she kisses him.

King has struggled with his self-interest in Rani, and he realizes one thing he has lost. King is fully aware, Rani comes to the farm with the intention of taking a vacation and helping her grandmother. Rani is only temporarily staying with them and soon the woman will return to the city.

Rani used to live in a big city that has many modern facilities, it took a long time so that she could easily adapt in this place. Storms often come to hit his village, King can still clearly remember the look of fear on Rani's face.

But there's no harm in trying and advancing slowly to get closer, King reassures his heart and is determined to make Rani look at him.

Not feeling they had reached the front of the farmhouse, King pulled the reins slowly and the horse neighed before stopping its footwork, then wagged its tail and fell silent in place.

“Hei, Miss. We have arrived,” whispered softly in Rani's ears, from a distance some workers looked at them and smiled while whispering.

King did not care if they gossiped about him, his focus was now more on the woman in his arms. A stifled smile was engraved on King's face as soon as he heard the delicate sound of Rani's warm breath, touching the side of his open left arm.

Anxious, King pecked at the tip of Rani's nose and then moved to her cheek. “Wake Miss, do you want to continue to be on horseback?”

The lentic eyelashes twitched and slowly opened. Rani blinked, her eyeballs spinning around looking around her. A second later he regained his senses and straightened his back, as soon as he heard King's stifled groan in his ear.

“Sorry, it looks like I pinched your leg and fell asleep long enough.” Rani said with a blush, a thin grin on King's face as the man tried to move his legs.

“Long enough to make this thigh numbness,” says King while massaging his thighs slowly.

Rani glanced at King's hand movements, gasping as she realized her legs had not moved and were still above King's hard thighs. He shifted his legs quickly and cleared his throat for a moment, adjusting his breath to keep looking calm despite his rumbling heart.

King has not yet gone down, still at home sitting on a horse and lingering there. He holds a pinch of Rani's long hair and coils it around his finger.

“I love to see your hair down and touch my arm,” King said as he looked at Rani, and released the twists on her finger slowly. Then with an unexpected move, the man jumped down from his horse.

King holds Rani's waist and helps her get off the horse. Rani grimaced as her feet stomped on the ground beneath her. His hands clutched firmly the collar of King's shirt and the man looked at him.

“I'll carry you inside the house.”

“No need, King. Aaa ..” Rani's voice hangs in the air, King quickly grabs her body and holds her inside the house.

“King, you don't have to. I can walk alone,” protest Rani. But the man just kept quiet, and continued to step up the steps of the stairs.

King paused on the child and looked at Rani, “I'll still do it even if you yell ban.”

With ease King opened the door, the grandmother who was behind her desk screamed in shock at Rani's state.

“What happened to my grandson?” tanya granny rushed to her feet, with an anxious face walking over to Rani. “Did you fall off the horse?” Grandma touched Rani's injured leg.

“Aow, pain Nek.” Rani begins the drama, grimacing to show a face of pain.

“What are you doing my granddaughter? You promised to take good care of Rani as long as she was here!” granny snorted, clapping King's arm hard.

“Mrs Maggie, You misunderstood.” King tried to defend himself, he stared bitterly at Rani who was still in his arms. King thought he couldn't throw the woman out of her cradle and made Madame Maggie yell angrily at him again.

Rani let go of his embrace and jumped down from King's sling, her face grimacing again. But he was sure this time King would let him.

Rani sighed at her grandmother's shoulder and walked limped beside her, “King is innocent, Nek. Rani alone is not careful.”

“You guys are actually from where, why are your clothes wet like this?” grandmother felt Rani's clothes, the woman wriggled amusedly trying to stop her grandmother's hand movement.

“King took me to the bathing pool of the citizens who were behind the hill there.” Rani starts explaining to her grandmother, while King just sits quietly in front of them. His face still looked annoyed.

“You surprised me,” said grandma looks to breathe a sigh of relief. “King, are you mad at me. Your face looks sour like that?” grandma turned her face, looking at King in his chair.

King just shook his head, he got up and stepped into the house and came back shortly afterwards with the medicine box in his hand. “I'm not angry with you guys, because treating the wound on Rani's leg is much more important for now.”

King helped treat the wound on Rani's leg, although not severe but if left unchecked there will be an infection. And King didn't want that to happen.

“I will replace your broken shirt one day,” said Rani look at the broken sleeve of King's shirt.

“No need, I have many shirts like this in my house.” Reply King.

“But I want to replace it,” said Rani again.

King wrapped Rani's feet with a bandage in his hand, and gave her adhesive so as not to easily escape. King gently rubbed his slender legs and smiled at the results of his work. He looked up and looked at the old Rani. “As far as you are, Miss. If you want to do it for me, I'll wait for that day to arrive.”

Grandma who sat next to Rani was heard sighing, “I'm grateful that Rani did not suffer any serious injuries. You know, Gaby didn't come to the farm today.”

King and Rani immediately turned her face quickly, staring at grandma at the same time.

“What has happened to Gaby today? Did Mr Philips' pain recur again?” ask King.

“Does Grandma know something, why didn't Gaby come today?” Rani looked at her grandmother, then turned to look at King.

“I heard back that Parker refused Gaby's resignation.” Grandma reveals. “I'm afraid something bad happened with Gaby there.”

King stood up, he rushed out of the house. “I'll be there soon to see it.”

Without waiting for the approval of Rani and her grandmother, King quickly jumped aboard his horse and spurred it on quickly. The afternoon sky was still bright, King had to quickly get there before something bad happened to Gaby as mistress Maggie was worried about.
