Chapter 26. Unexpected events at the feed store

“King!”

Rani shouted loudly to call King. The woman walked briskly even jumping on one leg, exiting the house while grimacing at the lip holding the pain in the soles of her feet.

King jumped on his horse, his legs pressing on his horse's belly until the animal began to move forward. He pulled the reins of his horse as soon as he heard Rani's scream.

“Wooo, sshhh!”

King turned his horse slowly, he looked at Rani with a frown. The woman stood while bending her legs and one hand holding on to the pole of the house. “What's up?” ask King.

Rani gulped with difficulty, she felt strange with herself. He was at a loss for words, unable to quickly answer King's usual questions for a while.

Seeing King who immediately reacted quickly when he heard Gaby might be in danger, it suddenly disturbed his heart. He did not know what that feeling was, which Rani was obviously afraid to admit at this moment.

“Cautious.” Rani was finally able to answer King's question after a considerable time lag, and the man smiled at her. “I just want to make sure that you'll bring Gaby back to this farm.”

Aahr! Should he say it, too ordinary. Everyone must have expected the same thing King would do to help Gaby. Rani patted her own forehead.

Rani is busy talking to herself and does not realize King jumped down from his horse and walked up to him. One unexpected move by King, the man held Rani back and took her inside the house.

“Kingstone Hardy!” rani screams, surprised by what King does to her. “What are you doing?”

King wants to take Rani to his room. Grandma who was on the sofa and watching the television show was shocked to see the two of them.

“Yes God, what happened to Rani again?” grandma asked while holding her breath, “Did her legs bleed until you had to carry her like that again?”

“No, Mistress. Your grandson just needs to rest in his room and stop jumping!” King said and kept going.

“Did Rani do it again? Since childhood he did like to jump like a kangaroo even though his legs were injured.” Grandma said, shaking her head.

Rani gave a huff, she put her face behind King's arm and exclaimed at her grandmother. “I just want to remind him, but King doesn't like me to talk.”

King swung Rani's body in his arms, the woman screamed and King laughed as Rani directly wrapped her arms around her neck.

“You are indeed a good man and deserve to be relied upon, take him immediately to his room and I will make sure he rests inside there.” Grandma helped open the door of Rani's room, and revealed the blanket that was on the bed.

“Grandpa so?” reply Rani with pouting lips.

“How so? This time you should listen to King's words, Grandma won't let you ride again if you don't obey him.”

Rani glanced back at King, the man laying him on the bed. Grandma spoke softly to King, “I'm not sure Rani will be quiet in her room, she is not the type to easily comply especially when she feels threatened by her enemy.”

“Grandma, I can hear Grandma talk.” Said Rani glancing at her grandmother, the woman laughed and immediately walked out of her room. King was still in his room.

“Why are you still in my room, don't you want to see Gaby right away in her shop?”

King walked over, he sat on the edge of the bed and smiled looking at Rani. “I'm like hearing a jealous tone in your words.”

“What do you mean, who's jealous? Was I wrong, wasn't it true that you wanted to see Gaby in the store right away? Then why are you mas .. hmpf anyway!”

Rani could not continue her words because King's lips immediately ambushed her. King kissed her again, and silenced her words. The man scratched his face and pressed his nape to get closer to her.

Rani is not struggling, she is too surprised to be unable to fight when getting a sudden King attack. For some reason, while in King's arms easily stretched out around the man's neck.

“I'm sure, now you'll sit sweet in your room and wait for me to come bring Gaby to this house.” King said with a warm look, he rubbed Rani's swollen lips.

Rani pressed her two red cheeks and then touched her lips, she could still feel the taste of King's lips there.

“Are you okay?” Grandma peeked out from behind the door of Rani's room, her eyes twinkling with amusement looking at Rani's reddened face.

“Grandmother, stop teasing me like that.” Rani pulled the blanket on her feet and covered her entire body to the limit of the neck, grandmother chuckled at her and immediately sauntered away from there. Rani could still hear his laughter along with the neighing sound of King's horse running away.

King spurs his horse fast, leaving a cloud of dust behind him.he must immediately take Gaby out of the feed store. This time he did not want to be cheated again, after the previous event when Hary tried to tease the girl.

She was like a sister to him. Their parents were friendly, and King thought all the residents in the area were also friendly and knew each other well.

“The girl should have stayed at Maggie's farm, instead of resigning and instead working with Parker!” gerutu King's.

King did not know Parker very well, but he knew Ed Donovan the owner of the feed store.

Parker was with his wife not long ago in his area. He works there in place of the old feed store manager, after Ed learns his bullshit is manipulating the sales notes of the goods and driving them out of his shop.

It wasn't until the afternoon when King got there, he tethered his horse across the street not far from the feed store.

From the front of the store the atmosphere looks quiet, there are no vehicles parked there. There was only one vehicle as usual, being in front of the store. It looks like it belongs to manager Parker.

King crossed the street, and stood for a while in front of the shop. There was no visible activity in there, completely deserted.

King stepped in, his hand moved to shake the dust of the remaining spider web that was above his head.

King cleared his throat for a moment before shouting calling out the name of the shop occupant. “Heii, is there no one in this store? Gaby, Mr. Parker. I need ten more spades!”

It didn't sound right, but King heard someone's scream from inside the warehouse behind the store. King sharpened his ears, the voice was heard again, this time more clearly.

“What do you guys do inside the warehouse there, let customers shout asking for goods?”

King walked slowly, down the corridor connecting the feed store with the warehouse. The lighting in that place was very bad, the light bulb attached to the top of the wooden pole was blackish in color and looked very dim.

There was a weathered wooden door left wide open, King headed there. In front of him was an empty land and an old barn. King heard the commotion coming from inside the warehouse in front of him.

King pushed the door and was surprised to see the situation inside the warehouse that looked as if it had been washed away by a storm. Large sacks of animal feed scattering on the floor. In the middle of the room there are shelves of wooden cabinets.

King saw two men facing each other. Parker leaned against the wall, standing facing him. He rubbed the wound on the corner of his bloody lips. The other man stood behind him and was seen clenching his hands.

“What are you doing here?!” parker shouted furiously at King's presence at the place.

The man in front of Parker turned around. King's eyeballs instantly widened, surprised to see the young man. To King's surprise, Gaby suddenly appears from behind a wall of shelves with torn sleeves and puffy eyes.

“King,” he said in a weak tone.

King stepped forward, he approached Hary and gripped the collar of the young man's neck and prepared to launch his fist.

“King, not him!” scream Gaby.

Hary stood up with a face of wrath, he challenged King's eyes and pointed angrily at Parker with his fingertips. “That guy did it, I caught him trying to harass Gaby!”
