Chapters 30. Back to Maggie's farm

King gives Hary and Gaby a chance to talk and solve their problems. He is willing to wait at the feed store as long as Hary takes Gaby to the doctor and shopping to the city.

During the waiting time, King took a look at the circumstances inside the shop. He shook his head as he exhaled, half in disbelief looking at the items inside the store that looked unkempt.

“What exactly Gaby did in this place, this should be her job. Tidying things up in the store is not a difficult job to do, let alone for a woman like herself.” King muttered as he continued to pay attention to the situation inside the shop, occasionally his hands shaking off the dust lodged on the items he passed.

King's attention is distracted by the roar of the car coming, then the sound of Hary's scream calling Gaby's name. King rushes out of the shop and is surprised to see Gaby get off the car and immediately runs towards him.

“I didn't hurt him, King. I didn't even dare to touch her skin in the slightest. You can ask him that,” said Hary, looking at King's suspicious eyes at him.

“What really happened, didn't you insist on bringing Gaby to town. It feels like just a few minutes ago you guys left, but now it's back again?” king asked in full search, staring at the two in turn.

“Gaby rejected me and said he didn't want to deal with me anymore, ” Hary said with a lethargic face. “Padahan I sincerely want to help him.”

“King, can you take me away from here to meet Madame Maggie? Me ..” Gaby's eyes glazed over, she couldn't continue speaking.

Gaby's fingertips touched King's shirt, and one of her hands held tightly to the front of the blouse she was wearing. His bra strap was seen on the torn part of his blouse, while Hary's vest he had been wearing had vanished out of nowhere.

“You can tell me if Hary is bothering you, again.” King is angry. “I will make the man apologize to you and regret his actions.”

King immediately took off the shirt he was wearing and put it on Gaby's body, then buttoned it up to the top of the button.

“This once, you can't trust me. I sincerely want to help her,” said Hary walking over, but Gaby stepped aside and hid behind King's back.

“You scared him.” King clutched the collar of Hary's shirt neck, his eyes fixedly staring at the man's face. “Say, what have you done to her!”

“I can't possibly hurt the woman I like!” Hary jerked the grip of King's hand around his neck, he stared back at King and yelled angrily at him. “I just want this woman to know that I'm sincere with her. I love her and want to marry her. Satisfied!”

King was dumbstruck, too surprised by Hary's statement just now. Did he not hear wrong, how could he? During this time Hary always bothers Gaby with her actions that make her emotions rise high, then the young man easily talks about his love and his desire to marry Gaby.

“King, I don't want to marry him.”

Gaby's weak voice resuscitated King, he rubbed his tight nape suddenly. “It looks like I also need to check myself into doctor.”

King turned to Gaby, then took the woman away from there followed by Hary who continued to follow them from behind. Gaby stopped her steps, she pulled over for a moment and let Hary walk over to King.

“King, you have to help me convince Gaby to accept me.” Hary stood near King and pulled his arm.

King sighed, the tip of his fingers touching the edge of the hat he was wearing until it was lifted up. He looked at Gaby, then turned to look at Hary.

“A true man is confident in his abilities and will fight hard without asking other men for help in order to convince and get the woman he loves. I believe you are capable of doing it yourself,” King said as he patted Hary on the shoulder.

The man fell silent, only to obey when King asked him to stay away from his horse. “I'll take Gaby back to Maggie's farm, she'll live with her father there.”

King got on his horse, after which he took his horse walking closer to where Gaby was standing and stretched out his hand and pulled Gaby's hand to ride behind him.

“Gaby?”

Regardless of the wound on her leg that had just dried up, Rani ran out while jumping on one leg.

“Gaby!” rani shouted, almost falling on the floor when the door she was holding opened by herself. Luckily King's sprightly hand managed to grab his body, and Rani fell in King's arms.

“Can't you walk more carefully without jumping like that?” King still held Rani's waist, and the woman instead glared at him.

“You think I'm happy to do it? I can't wait to see Gaby and find out how she is.” Rani said, he held King's shoulder and tiptoed and peeked over his shoulder, seeing Gaby still standing quietly down there.

“As you wish, I've brought Gaby to this farm. She needs ...” King's words hang in the air. Rani points her index finger at King's lips, telling him to stop talking. And the man complied, he was silent while his hand remained at Rani's waist.

“Gaby, can you ride here?” still holding on to King's shoulder, Rani yells to Gaby. “You know no, I can't jump down there and let this man scold me again.”

“I'm just worried about the wound on your leg, moving too much can make your wound re-open.” King Protests.

Rani cupped King's face, then gently rubbed his sturdy jaw. He felt King's handrails tighten around his waist. Rani smiled, “The injuries on my feet are not severe, King. I've just smeared it with ointment cream and changed the bandages, so you don't have to worry about my feet anymore.”

Rani's mess made King's chest pounding uncharacteristically, their distance was so close. Wanting to kiss her lips to stop talking, she had to keep her attitude because there was Gaby down there who saw both of them.

Gaby raised her face, her lips flattened a smile at Rani's words. He could hear the protest coming out of King's mouth, but Rani managed to make King speechless again. “I'll ride now,” he said later.

Rani smiled, King released his handrails and pulled over his body as Gaby got to the top. Rani reaches out her hand to Gaby, and invites her into the house. “You must tell me everything, and I will help treat your wounds.”

Gaby held back her steps, her eyes back in tears. “You know, I'm glad to have someone I can talk to. I've never had a sister all this time.”

“From now on, let's just say I'm your brother. And we will stay together in this house,” said Rani, who Gaby immediately replied with a hug.

Rani takes Gaby to her room and helps treat her injuries. He told Gaby to choose the clothes she wanted to wear to replace the blouse that was torn. That night they talked a lot, and Gaby told him everything that happened to him at the feed store without anything covered up.

“So before King came, Hary was already there. He who saved you from the evil manager Parker,” said Rani after hearing Gaby's story.

“The man scares me, he suddenly just carried me like a sack of rice and proposed to me in his car.” Gaby.

“What! How come, isn't he the man who made you resign from this farm?”

Gaby nodded, “She made me hate her as well as pity her.”

King lets the two women talk, while he meets Maggie in his study to talk about Gaby and her father. That night on Maggie's orders, King came to see Mr. Philips at his house.
