Chapter 21. When You say nothing at all

Rani and King arrive late at the farm and get there by nightfall. Rani struggled because she was not used to carrying an open tub vehicle like now.

Rani also had to adjust her gaze to the road in front of her, because not all the street lights they passed were on. It is also impossible for Rani to wake King and have the man drive his car again because all the way King continues to sleep soundly.

“King, wake. We have arrived.” Rani touches King's shoulder, intending to wake him up. But the man shook his head and turned his face to face Rani.

Rani smiled, King looks tired. His hands fell on both sides of his body, his breathing was seen rising and falling regularly.

Following his instincts, Rani brought her face closer and looked at the old King. The bright light of the porch light helped him clearly see King's handsome face.

The wavy curly hair looked messy, dangling on his forehead. His facial lines are firm, his eyebrows thick, his nose pointed, and his lips are perfectly sculpted. Unknowingly, Rani's hand reached out to grab the strand of King's hair that fell on her forehead, then went down to the cheek and touched the corner of her lips.

King moves, gets annoyed with Rani's hand and opens his eyes. Rani gasped to realize that the man was awake, and immediately pulled his hand. Their distance was so close, Rani could even feel King's warm breath touching her forehead.

King suddenly just moved quickly and pulled Rani's nape. His movements surprised Rani, he had not had time to think what King would do next, knew the man had kissed her. Touching his lips gently without forcing.

“King.” Rani's voice weakened. King's kiss was intoxicating, and made him fall asleep.

King smiled at him, love glows emanating in his eyeballs. Rani is unaware of it all, she is lulled by the gentleness of King's attitude. His hands just stretched out, locking King's neck as soon as the man repeated his actions. This time it was softer and longer.

King released the link of his lips suddenly, and Rani sniggered. King smiled at her, cupping the face of Rani who still closed her eyes. His thumb moved slowly, rubbing his swollen lips.

“If you don't like me doing it, you can stop it right now.”

Rani shook her head, slowly opening her eyes. The face was so close to her, the gazes of the two met.

“You know?” King rubbed Rani's cheeks. “I need a break, but being around you doesn't give me enough time. You often disturb my concentration, even just by seeing you smile.”

“You fell asleep all the way, while I drove your car.”

King laughed, “I am still awake and keep watching you, even though my eyes closed.”

“How can you do it, I heard you snoring,” Rani said.

“You should be able to distinguish the sound of snoring with the sound of squeaking tires,” Sergah King.

Rani smiles at him, “It seems I should go to the doctor immediately and check my ears.”

“I will accompany you, if necessary we go there on horseback.”

Rani could not hide her laughter anymore, and King pretended not to understand. “Do you not want to ride with me? Relax, you'll be safe with me. I will guard you with all my heart, I will not let rock fragments or splashes of stormy mud hit your feet.”

Rani blushed in embarrassment, her face warmed up. King's words catapulted his heart, but Rani tried to be natural. Luckily his body was now leaning on the back of the chair, so King did not see a change in the look of his face.

“Don't you just say that my presence disturbs your concentration. If so, I would not dare to appear before you. I'll hide, until I'm sure you won't see me there.”

“You do have a big responsibility, considering so much work you have to do on this farm.” Rani looked at King, the man was staring out of the car.

“I used to not care, day and night kept working. Just occasionally resting, it was also because of someone who kept coming to me. I tried to ignore him, but he never gave up until I was tired of seeing him myself.”

“When I tried to open my heart to her, she left instead with another man. He said he could not face my unchanging attitude, cold and rigid.”

“I no longer care about love and the like, and busied myself again with work. Until you showed up there, and made me have to rethink.” King turned his head and softened his gaze on Rani.

“I spent a long hard night each remembering the sweet taste of your lips. I thought it would be easy to forget all that, but it's not. I just fell asleep after seeing you, and suddenly all the problems in my head disappeared.”

“Are you trying to seduce me, King?” Rani tried to cover up the taste of her heart that was stirred by the sweet words of King's lips.

“Do you think I'm doing that to you, Miss?”

“I don't know, King. You kissed me in front of your ex-lover, pretexting to convince everyone of our relationship and get that woman away from you. I need proof, not just intoxicating sweet words.”

King grabbed Rani by the waist, and fused their eyebrows together. “You know, I'm trying to prove everything I said to you.”

The two human beings in the car looked at each other, they did not realize there was a pair of eyes watching while smiling with relief. Maggie's mistress hopes King can heal Rani's heartache and make her fall in love again. He expected a lot from King.

Rani gets out of the car and waits for King to finish unloading the goods. The man grabbed his hand and brought it to his lips. “I go home,” pamitnya then while kissing Rani's forehead.

Rani nodded, standing waiting for King and his car to pass from before him. He stared at her until the car disappeared from his sight.

Rani went into the house, there was a grandmother waiting for her. Rani poured into the arms of the smiling grandmother welcoming her with both hands spread wide.

“It doesn't take long if the love comes to say hello, greet and embrace him in the arms. Don't let go just like that.” Grandma rubbed Rani's back dear, she knew her grandson's heart was hesitating considering King's attitude towards her.
