My Beloved Cowboy's

My Beloved Cowboy's
Chapters 13. King's dressing clothes

Rani rushes inside her room and changes clothes, while King walks quickly to the kitchen and meets Ben at the back of the house while the man is inspecting the cattle pen.

“Ben, how are things here. Is there a lot of damage done?!” king asked half-screaming, taking off his hat and wet boots and throwing them beside the door.

Ben ran to King, took off his hat and rubbed his wet hair. Rain drops from his face. Ben looked back while pointing his thumb and spoke in a stingy voice.

“I've checked our stables and livestock, some fences were damaged and collapsed when the animals were panicking in fear and running around to get out of the stables when the storm came.” Report Ben then.

“Did they manage to get out and escape from the cage?” asked King in a surprised tone.

“There are some lost cows and horses. I've called some of our workers to help search, and they'll start doing it after the storm subsides.”

King swore loudly, he hurried to put his shoes and hat back on and walked towards the cage. “I'll check it again.”

“I'm coming!” Ben turned around and immediately followed King. They walked together no matter the rain that fell like a sharp sting of the skin.

They reached the nearest horse stable and began to inspect the broken fence, there were no animal footprints there as it was swept away by rainwater.

“Ben, if this storm does not pass soon. The animals will get further and further lost, and we will have more trouble finding it.” Shouted King, his voice muffled by the torrential rain.

“Yes, I know that. Either way we can't find them now, wait until the rain subsides and the storm leaves.” Sahut Ben's.

King nodded, they rushed inside the cage and checked the other farm animals. Thankfully the animals began to look calm, King walked over and rubbed one of the manes of the black horse chewing its food.

“King, look!” Ben yelled out to King, he was inside one of the separate stables and squatted there. “It looks like Summer's leg was injured while running out the cage earlier.”

The pregnant female horse, Summer, was placed in her own stable, she looked agitated and kept neighing in a half-lying position when she felt the presence of others nearby.

“What's with Summer?” King walked over and crouched down near Ben. There was dried blood on the straw near the horse's foot, and King saw it.

Summer jerks her tail when Ben tries to touch her feet, King immediately warns Ben to be careful and tells him to stay away.

According to Ben, he stood behind King and let the man approach Summer. King slowly extended his hand, rubbed Summer's body and whispered softly in her ear.

The horse became calmer and seemed to understand King's words by sniffing King's hand through his nose. King laughed at it. He began to examine Summer's leg and noticed a deep scratch on the inside of her foot.

“When Smith gets home, Summer needs treatment.” King shut the whole stables back down after they came out of there and hung the keys in their usual place.

Smith is a veterinarian who works at Maggie's farm, in addition to three mechanical crews as well as five farm foremen who have their respective duties. There is a foreman who specifically watches over livestock, there is also a foreman who specifically watches over horses.

“Sore later he came, he just finished buying equipment for baby birth Summer.” Answer Ben.

King nodded, the two walked hand in hand out of the place. It was early in the morning, but the sky was still covered in black clouds. The rain had not yet subsided and the ground beneath them was already submerged in water and looked like a sea of mud.

“I hope this storm leaves soon and we can immediately search for the lost cattle,” King said as he sighed, looking up at the morning sky and then stepped down followed by Ben behind him.

Blewdar!

The boots that King and Ben were wearing were submerged in the mud they were wearing, but King didn't care. When he was about to step up and try to pull his foot out, next to Ben's boots was left behind and embedded there.

“King, shoes!”

“Leave it, Ben!” shouted King.

The two continue their journey with Ben who is swallowed by a foot, until they finally make it through the sea of mud and reach the porch of Maggie's ranch house.

“Huuh!” King breathed a sigh of relief, sitting on the floor. Ben laughed at their situation. “You can even still laugh at times like this.” Grunts King, he took off his hat and mud-filled shoes and threw them at the veranda.

“I remember when the storm happened last year, we were in the middle of a corn field chasing livestock that got lost and stuck there for hours. Not only the feet are submerged in mud, but our whole body is full of mud.” Ben spread his body on the porch floor, looking at King sitting with his feet beside him.

“You know, King. I had to repeatedly bathe to remove the cattle dung that stuck in my hair. Jeny couldn't stand my smell, she didn't even want me to go near her and tell me to sleep on the couch that time.” Get Ben again.

King grimaced to hear it, he only lived alone in his house. Both of his parents had died a long time ago, so he did not have to worry about anyone who would be disturbed by his circumstances.

“How are things out there, King?” Ask Ben then.

“Bad! Electricity went out everywhere. The storm left nearly half the village flooded. Many trees were uprooted, and we had to get rid of them first before we got to this place,” King said.

“It looks like the storm is starting to drift away,” said Ben got up and straightened his body while staring at the sky.

Thundering thunder was still heard even from a distance. The wind had been blowing more calmly, and the rain began to subside although it still left water that soaked the farm and surrounding land.

“We'd better clean up soon, I don't want Jeny to stay away from me again like that time.” Get Ben again.

“Do you still keep my change of clothes, I can't go home in this state?” ask King.

“Take it easy, King. I still keep it well,” said Ben. “I'll get it for you.”

King was still sitting with both hands resting on the porch floor of the house, his legs looking pale. King extended his hand, his face instantly grimacing as he felt his arm suddenly twitch.

“King?”

King turned his face, and hurried to his feet when he saw Rani appear before him with a change of clothes for him.

“Ben gave me this change of yours, we passed him when he was about to go to the bathroom earlier.” Obviously Rani while handing over the change of clothes in her hands to King. He tried to look natural even though he was confused because King's underwear fell out of his hands and he had to fold it back.

The tail of Rani's eyes glanced at the wet clothes King was wearing that were dripping water on the floor. “You'd better change your clothes soon, I've prepared a towel for you in the bathroom. You can wear it.”

King swears in his heart, why should Ben give Rani her dressing instead where there are her underwear there too.

“Oh, yes one more. I'll help you change that bandage on your arm.” Rani said before turning away. He quickly passed from before the King before the man called out to him and saw his reddened face.
