Chapter 32. The Rani solution

Rani rests in her room while Gaby chooses to work. Rani peeks out asking Gaby if she needs her help, and Gaby just smiles.

“I'll call you if I need your help,” Gaby said.

“Oke.”

Rani sat by the window of her room, staring at the scene out there. Some workers seemed to be busy with their cattle, others in stables.

Rani's eyes search for a handsome man who last night massaged his feet, and she finds King among the workers bathing his horse.

“King!” Shouted Rani, then realized that the man would not hear his call because they were far enough away. Rani had to settle for just staring at the wide back of King who was now crouching near the leg of his horse.

Tired of being in the room, Rani grabs a brown parcel on a closet shelf and walks out to meet Gaby at her desk.

Rani stands on the edge of Gaby's desk, chewing chocolate candy from inside the plastic bag in her hand. He lowered his body for a moment, staring at the computer screen in front of him. Her lips smiled widely, Rani had already expected Gaby to be able to easily complete the task that grandmother had given her.

“Great, You can finish it in less than two hours.” Rani straightened her body and gave her thumb. “You deserve to be relied upon, it's worth it that grandma felt so lost when you resigned from this farm.”

Gaby blushed, her face warmed. He was pleased and flattered to hear Rani's sincere praise. “You praise me too much, I just finish what you've done first. Thank you, because you have helped me so much so far.”

“You have been considered like my own brother, and as fellow brothers have naturally helped each other.”

Gaby smiled hearing that. “Iya, I know it.”

“If you get an offer and opportunity to work in one of the big companies in the city with a high salary nominal, would you accept it and leave this place?” rani asked seriously, she was eager to hear Gaby's answer after seeing the girl's workability.

“You want to know my answer?” Gaby asked back, and Rani nodded curiously.

Gaby took a breath before answering Rani's question, “I'll stay here and work on this farm. I've got a dad who needs my supervision, and I've got a nice job here with a decent salary. Besides that I was also treated very well by the owner of the farm where I work.”

“You have a much needed ability by the big companies in the city, I see the way you work and how you get it done.”

“If given the opportunity, I just want to continue my medical studies again. But father's condition did not allow me to go far away from him,” Gaby said turning heartily.

“Heii, you must keep your spirits up. There will be that opportunity for you again. Just a matter of time,” said Rani encouraged Gaby.

“I will wait for that moment to arrive. I'd love to be a doctor so I can treat my father's pain and help the people in this area.” Gaby said with a look.

“Her noble ideals once, I believe you will get that chance.” Rani hugs Gaby's shoulder. “I'm so proud to have a sister like you. Do you want chocolate?”

Rani puts a packet of chocolate candy in her hand and gives it to Gaby. “It feels sweet, the thick brown layer on the outside is so smoother on the tongue. Very enjoyable.”

“Crown candy?” Gaby took one, and chewed it slowly. He nodded in agreement, “Enak.”

“You know, I have to keep it in a secret place. No one knows, even grandma had to seduce me first to get it. Especially for you, exception. You don't have to bother seducing me, because it's your first day working back at the Maggie.” farm Rani chuckles, he pours a handful into her hand and gives the parcel in her hand to Gaby.

“Forku?” said Gaby, staring at the plastic wrap in her hand.

Rani nodded, continuing to chew. “If you think chocolate in this house can last more than five minutes, you're wrong big.”

Gaby smiles at the dikulum, she understands the meaning of Rani's words. “For chocolate like this, I think you're right. By the way, does Madame Maggie know your secret place?”

Rani pulls up a chair and sits next to Gaby. “Then, during the school holidays I came to this house. I put my chocolate candy on the top shelf of the refrigerator. I think it's safe there, and no one's gonna bother him. But I was wrong. Later that night when I wanted to pick it up, the box had already moved and I lost a lot of my chocolate candy.” Said Rani with pursed lips.

Gaby held back her laugh, “You know who did it?”

Rani grabbed Gaby by the shoulder, looked at her grandmother's office door and whispered in Gaby's ear. “The woman you called Maggie's mistress, she did it.”

Gaby's laughter broke until her shoulder was shaken, “How come, did you see her doing it?”

“Who else if not her, I found grandma watching a television show while chewing my chocolate candy.” Rani said with chipping lips.

“Hahaha, ouch cramps my cheeks.” Gaby laughed while holding her cheek. “Then what happened after that?”

It was nice to talk to Gaby a lot, so Rani knew what the girl's dream was. Just a matter of time, Rani believes Gaby can achieve her goals. After all, grandma already intends to help Gaby's school fees.

The sound of the phone ringing distracts Rani, she runs to her room and immediately laughs happily upon hearing her nephew's funny voice.

“Gaby!” exciting Rani. He appears in the doorway and codes Gaby while pointing the phone in her hand, and Gaby nods in understanding. He resumed his remaining work.

Not long after Gaby resumed her work, the boisterous sounds and screams from the porch of the farmhouse distracted her.

Curious, Gaby peeked out from behind the window curtain and was surprised to see Hary's appearance there. The man was about to enter the farmhouse, but the workers who saw him blocked his steps and drove him away from there.

“What's up?” Rani suddenly appears, surprising Gaby who is tense to see the situation outside. “Not that man Hary, that man ..”

“Yes, Hary helped me back then. I thought he wouldn't dare come to see me again after I refused and asked him to stay away from me.” Gaby said.

“Looks like he came to see you,” reply Rani. “I was curious, what he would do with the workers who tried to block him.”

“They must have thought he came wanting to mess up again in this place.” Rani clutched the curtain cloth, her face looking anxious. Yesterday's embarrassing incident at the feed store still stuck in his mind, and it wasn't just erased in his memory.

“I came with good intentions, want to meet Gaby. Not to do anything and mess up in this place!” hary's voice rang out, he pointed his hand into the house. “I know Gaby works at this farm.”

“You came just wanted to annoy Gaby and hurt her again, we won't let that happen.”

“King! You can tell them all, I'm not going to hurt Gaby.” Hary shouted to King, the man came and immediately stood face to face with Hary.

“We can't believe it, King. You know what he did to Gaby back then,” replied one of the workers, who immediately got the approval of his other colleagues.

“I just wanted to meet and talk to him. If you don't believe me, you can watch and listen to my conversation with Gaby. But before that happens, you guys should let me meet him.”

King massaged his temple, he turned his head inside the house and immediately frowned as soon as he saw the shadow of Rani and Gaby's body peeking out from behind the window curtain.

“You wait here, don't move until I ask you to come see Gaby here.” King's orders to Hary.

“King, how can you give this man a chance to mess up in this place?” protest of the workers.

“I know what I should do!” reply King. “You hold him, don't move before I command move.”

“Good.”

King walked into the house, standing with both hands folded on his chest. He stared at the two young women before him, “What are you doing here?”

“I'm at work, and stop by for a moment to see things outside.” Gaby said, she immediately rushed back to her desk. Rani still stands before King.

“You?”

Before King could think, Rani had already walked out past him.

“Let me handle it,” said Rani rushed down the stairs and walked over to Hary and the workers.

“Heii, what will you do?” king shouted, ran after Rani and managed to grab her arm.

“You only need to protect me if they attack each other after I speak,” said Rani, turning to look King in the eye.

“What do you mean?”

“Look at what I'm going to do,” said Rani, brushed off King's handrails on her arm.

He turned his body, sighed and then walked forward. “Hey, you all!” his orders are in the style of the best leader he has. “Paution!”
