Thursday morning ...
Rani woke up from her sleep, jolted awake when she heard the sound of thunder booming after the rain that fell suddenly and profusely. He fell asleep in the attic room that night, wanting to reminisce while reminiscing about his childhood.
Rani looks at the clock, four o'clock in the morning. His body shivered suddenly, not because of the low temperature of the air conditioning in his room, but because of the strong wind that was blowing into his room. Rani remembers, she forgot to close the window of her room that she had left open last night.
When the weather is clear at night, from the attic room where now Rani can see the beautiful night sky. He can also see the scenery far below, the field filled with thick grass around the area of his grandmother's farm.
Bledaarrs!
A flash of lightning struck the ground below, alternately shaking before finally returning and disappearing behind the clouds. The sky was suddenly completely covered by dark black clouds.
The rush of rain like sharp needles hit the window glass of the attic room, some of the water entered and soaked the edges of his bed. Rani Rushes up and pulls the hook and quickly closes the window sills. He also pulled the curtain of his room to close perfectly and left only a shadow of lightning visible from out there.
Cirap cirap .. pet!
Holy hooch!
“Neneekk!” rani shouted as the lights in her room went out, everything went pitch black. There was not the slightest light, his chest suddenly tightened.
His hand struck a nearby wall, and touched the end of the nightstand that was there. Rani fingered the top shelf, remembering that she put her phone there. It worked! Rani's body sagged down, she breathed a sigh of relief. The flat object was now in his hands.
“This is it!” Rani quickly turned on her phone, a glowing light illuminating the room. Rani sees a big shadow of herself, curled up next to the nightstand while bending her two legs.
“Rani! Are you up there?” her grandmother's voice distracts Rani. “Quick You point flashlight up stairs!” the order to someone.
“Grandmother!” Rani got up and stood up, rushing down the stairs with the light of a mobile phone flashlight in her hand.
In the middle of the stairs, a round-shaped light shines straight into Rani's body. He squinted his eyes and turned his back when the light coming at him blocked his view.
“Ben! Point your flashlight at her feet, not her face!” grandmother's orders again, this time in a firmer tone.
According to the man, Ben, one of the farm foremen who lives in Maggie's farmhouse, directed the flashlight in his hand down toward Rani's feet.
Rani sped up her steps, she immediately hugged her grandmother's body when she got to the bottom of the stairs.
Bledaarrs!
“Aarghk!” Rani suffocated and immediately covered her ears.
“Ssh ssh relax, Rani. Nothing will happen, we will be safe inside this house.” Grandma's words were soothing, even though she herself was unsure of what she said.
Grandma could feel the fear that Rani was experiencing at this time, she then led her grandson to walk to the sofa and sit there while Ben checked the back of the house.
While waiting for the storm to subside, they can only pray that the storm quickly ends and the weather returns to clear.
According to the weather forecast that aired this morning, the storm accompanied by heavy rain and strong winds will hit their region. As in previous years, the storm will subside in a few minutes.
But the rain was falling more and more, and the wind was blowing harder. The curtain cloth was swerving in the wind, the sound of the screeching of the shifting chair table was clearly heard. Rani could even hear the sound of the pounding door behind the house that was hit hard by the strong wind.
Every time the lightning struck and vibrated the windows of the house, Rani was suffocated. Various bad possibilities flashed in his mind, Rani cried in fear.
The rain was still pouring down, but the thunder was now heard only occasionally but the wind was still blowing hard. Then there was a rumbling sound again along with the lights in the house that were back on, and Rani was strangled again.
At first Rani thought it was the sound of lightning. But when he heard the voice of someone calling his name and his grandmother, Rani screamed happily and rushed to run forward.
“Rani, mistress Maggie, open the door!” king shouted from outside the door.
‘King, are you?” Rani shouted back in a hoarse voice, making sure that the one who came was indeed King.
“Rani, open the door!” yelled King again.
“Rani, open babe. It was King who came,” Grandma said in a trembling voice, since earlier she prayed and hoped King would come to help them deal with this storm.
With trembling hands Rani opened the doorknob. As soon as the door opened, King almost fell into the air, driven by a strong wind. The man growled loudly withstanding the pain in his arm, he tried to stand up straight and closed the door behind him with one hand.
“King!” squealing Rani with a teary face, he was so happy to see the arrival of King. Rani instantly dropped her body into King's chest and hugged him tightly. He cried sobbing.
“King, thank you for coming.”
King held up one hand and hugged Rani back. The woman tightened her embrace, and went back to saying her name.
“Thank God you finally came.” Grandma walked up to the two, gently rubbed Rani's back and patted King on the shoulder, before finally stepping off leaving the two of them walking towards her room.
They hugged each other for a long time, and Rani had no intention of letting go. He was afraid the storm would come again. King's wet clothes were attached to his body, his boots were dirty full of mud. Her hat was wet and dripping water on the floor, but Rani didn't care.
King rubbed Rani's hair, putting the woman's face against her neck. He stroked Rani's back until the woman's cry subsided and was heard no more.
Rani was calmer, she rubbed her wet cheeks with her fingertips. King cupped his face and looked at him anxiously. “I was in the stable and was stuck there when the storm came. All lights suddenly go out, I'm trying to get out of there.”
“Then I remembered you guys and tried to get to this place faster. But the heavy rain blocked my visibility, I got stuck back in traffic with the other riders and couldn't come sooner to help you here.” Imbuh King again, raised Rani's chin with his thumb and rubbed the face with the tip of his index finger.
“Are you hurt? Ben said you were in the attic room when the storm came.”
Rani shook her head, and stared back at King. “I'm fine, just scared. I've never had a storm like this.”
King smiled gently, “If you stay for a long time in this place, you will get used to storms like this. Scary indeed, but you won't panic anymore.”
Rani smiles at him, “I hope that storm does not come again when I stay longer here.”
King sighed, “It looks like my plan to take you riding together should be postponed. There was a lot of damage on the road, and mudflows everywhere. Everyone will be preoccupied with a new task, cleaning up some of the city streets. I hope you are patient waiting for that time to arrive.”
Rani just nodded, the rain outside started to subside. The wind started to blow quietly. King let go of his embrace and without letting go of his eyes on Rani. “Looks like we should change clothes soon.”
Rani looked at herself and blushed in embarrassment as she realized she was wearing only a thin nightgown, and she could see something in King's eyes. Rani realized, she had aroused the man. Without being asked twice, Rani rushed away and went inside her room. He heard King's crisp laughter behind him.
