EXTRA CHAPTER 6: MELBOURNE IN 12 YEARS AGO
"The kid is so weird."
The words and whispers filled almost the entire group as the ten-year-old children appeared to be under the roof of an elementary school building. They wore dark blue and white uniforms that looked good on the children.
On the other hand, the object of their conversation, a girl wearing the same uniform as them was seen sitting under a tree. Squatting down and looking down to play with the kitten he found. The milk-brown furry cat meowed and seemed to scratch his legs and hands several times with a cute and adorable look. However, the black-faced girl stared at the kitten in front of her with an emotionless flat face. Just a trace of coldness under the sunglasses he was wearing.
"That kid can't express himself, huh?"
"The class-girlfriend cried to see it. Classmates often cry because they are afraid of them. That's why he's sitting alone in class."
"I'm just scared to be close to him."
"Eh, yes I have. I'm hungry, let's go to the cafeteria."
"Eh! I'm going to buy a cheese donut!"
In an instant the place was struck by silence. There were only faint footsteps that moved away before disappearing and leaving behind a daughter and a kitten. The boy stretched out his hand and rubbed the cat's cheek, slowly creeping his neck and his manic narrowed slightly. When her hands were wrapped around the kitten's neck and about to lift it, a voice made her turn and loosen her hands.
"It's real there!"
He looked up and saw a girl wearing the same uniform. Only a striped ribbon distinguishes and explains that the little girl who was running towards him with a plastic bag in her hand was her younger sister. He looked at her and the black-robed girl who ran up to him immediately crouched down near him.
He turned his head and looked at the long black-bladed girl beside him. Examines her appearance when the girl opens a can of cat food and gives it to the kitten in front of her. The kitten meowed and then happily rubbed his face against the boy's back. The boy picked up a piece of dried fish and raised it, luring the cat to lift its front body and get the food he wanted.
"His mother died a while ago, so now she's alone." The girl said while looking at the senior.
"Sister's here to see the cat too, huh?"
The older daughter was silent for some time before nodding her head without retaliating. Looking at her, the younger daughter looked at her and the one being stared at slightly glanced at her.
"Then would you take turns buying cat food for her?" The girl said after she smiled a shy smile. "My pocket money isn't always enough to buy cat food. If when I don't feed him, will you help him too?"
"Why should I give it to you?"
The black-haired girl turned her head and looked at him with a surprised look. "Because we have to help our fellow living beings, brother. The price of cat food is not so expensive, but it has helped this little cat to survive."
The boy lifted the cat into his carrier and hugged it while the older daughter said, "If you give him food, give him food, he will only depend on you and he will not survive on his own without the help of humans. He will become independent and will die if no one helps him."
The smaller daughter slightly replied in a soft voice. "What you said is true. But I also taught him to be independent. I didn't just feed him, at least I made him try to reach the food I gave him out of my hand."
"That's quite acceptable."
The girl immediately published a smile. "Really, right?"
"But it's wrong too."
Soon the boy became a little disappointed by the words of the upperclassman. "If from the beginning you intend to feed him, raise him to be your pet because once he gets food from humans, he will feed you, he would feel all humans were good and think that all humans would help him by feeding him. But cats should know that not all humans are good. If you want to help him live from the beginning, you have to let him try to survive, because from there he will fight for himself and survive."
He looked up and smiled with excitement. "Thank you for the advice, brother. Although it's actually for cats, I will always remember it and thank you for the advice you give."
The two children naturally met frequently when they were dealing with the kitten. The two often feed the cat together and often chat until it doesn't feel like their relationship is getting closer.
"I've never seen you smile, have you?"
Hearing the younger remark, he looked at the questioner who was looking at him with an inquisitive look before he said, "There's no reason to smile."
"Ah, brother lied, huh? There's no excuse? How come? Everything that happens in our lives allows us to laugh or at least smile because it is a sign of happiness or pleasure. I got full points for the quiz, and I smiled because I was happy."
"Sister's age doesn't have a single thing that can make you laugh?"
The more mature daughter did not move and shook her head. "Nothing."
The smaller daughter slightly pursed her lips before pulling them into a wide arch with her two index fingers. "Try smiling like this, brother."
"No way."
"Try once, kak~!"
"No."
The girl stretched out her hand and forced the more mature one to pull her lips into an arch line. The bigger one held back and sighed as he let his underclassman pull his stiff lips to form a smile. After several attempts, the girl finally pulled herself up and smiled with satisfaction.
"Well! I see! You are getting more beautiful if you smile like that!" said.
He then returned and rambled many things unconsciously, making the older girl pull the corner of her lips with amused when she told him about many ridiculous things.
"Lady!"
The boy called Nana turned his head, and waved his hand with a smile. "Wait a minute, Amber!"
He stood up. "I'm home first,"
He waved his hand, "Sister Bianca."
The atmosphere became even quieter when Bianca was left alone. The girl looked one way for a few minutes before turning her head, raising the kitten next to her with one hand and muttering with the face of the datas. "You're lucky. It seems Nana loves you very much. If I kill you like your mother,"
"... His smile will be gone."
"A fairy can't lose her smile. You think the same thing, don't you?"
"Meong~"
He snorted and pushed the cat out of his hand. "Smart kid."
