"Don't treat me like I'm a cripple, Va." Arana said with a stiff smile as Alva pushed her wheelchair down the garden around Arana's house.
Alva had the opinion that being in the house alone would not be good for Arana. And Arana herself felt that it was true, because for these 2 days, she had been confined inside her house without being allowed to do anything, except eat and sleep. Of course, shower too. The problem now is, Arana is not allowed to get out of her wheelchair, even when the wound is only a skin wound, and even it is already scabbed. Honestly, he was embarrassed by one of his thin bandaged legs, being pushed around the park as if he were a paralyzed patient. If people knew how his wound was, Arana was worried that they would stare at him like a fool.
Alva behind him said, "How is it possible? I just want you to feel comfortable and not hurt your body with exhausting activities."
Arana's face was cengo, her mind was slightly forced harder to understand Alva's intentions. Walking, is it a tiring activity? Oh, of course he is, if he walks from Jakarta to Rome. But he only needed to walk not 200 meters from his house to the residential park. Does it make sense to exhaust her or is she even worried that she will faint and go to the hospital again?
"But it's not up to 100 steps from home, baby." Arana said while shaking her head as if confused by Alva's logic.
The Alva stopped pushing when they arrived next to a garden chair under a shady, bushy flowering tree. There were yellow flowers and roses growing on the inner side of the street, and the pole lights became the light access in the garden. The atmosphere is a little crowded, because on Sundays, every couple and or some of them who themselves will walk in the park, enjoy the shady natural atmosphere and the cool breeze that greets.
"It's a fun, shady atmosphere." Arana muttered softly, looking up while closing her eyes.
"It just so happens to meet again here, hey brother Alva. Hey Alana!" The greeting made Arana turn her head, looking at someone who instantly made her manic widen. "Damn it, isn't he who broke my phone?!"
Wait, he knows them? No, his ears were misheard when the man called his name and Alva's name, right?
"Oh, Juan. What brings you here?"
Juan?
Arana gave a stiff smile. His body stiffened, and his memory wandered. Who is Juan? Obviously he knows, because Alana told him about Juan. Juan Esian Wiranata is the youngest son of his grandfather's younger brother. In other words, Juan was his cousin despite being a distant cousin.
One thing that needs to be underlined, that the relationship of Alana and Juan is like a mouse and a cat. Every time the two met, they would purposely throw ridicule at each other. Every time they met, they almost never gave greetings in general, and they obviously did not get along very well.
"As usual, brother. Just take a walk, enjoy a sunny Sunday morning of course. Isn't that right, Alana?" The pair of beads looked at Arana, and Arana somehow felt a bad premonition from the pair of black beads.
Alva reacts, but his reaction is slower due to Juan's diversion which invites him to chat. When something fell into her hand, Arana noticed that there was a caterpillar with no feathers the size of a green thumb in her hand. The caterpillar wriggled, apparently waking up from its stupor after being thrown by Juan. Arana was stuck for a while.
Is this Juan's joke?
Her memory is surfing, and she remembers that Alana once said that she hated and was amused at seeing caterpillars, whatever type of caterpillar she was. Small, especially big. Oh, but Arana's never afraid of insects. He was only afraid of dogs, because a dog once almost tore his leg meat when he was 8 years old. The dog seems to have no master, and is threatened when he passes by in the region.
But despite her fear, Arana is an animal lover. Sometimes when he sees abandoned and even near-death animals, he helps them by sometimes feeding them or worst of all escaping them to animal clinics to be rescued. The animal shelter will be their new home after that.
Since childhood, his grandmother also loved animals. It has several chickens, several cats, two pigs, ten rabbits and several other sweet animals. His grandmother once said that animals have feelings and lives. They can feel sad, they can feel pain and they can feel happy. So, Arana should not be arbitrary in any animal, unless the animal is dangerous such as snakes, tigers or crocodiles.
Arana watched as Alva stretched out her hand taking the caterpillar that was stuck in her hand. Alva thought Arana was frozen in fear, so immediately picked up the caterpillar and threw it away. Arana was dumbfounded, somehow the fate of the caterpillar!
"It's okay, I got rid of him. You don't have to worry about it." Alva said softly, while rubbing Arana's hand, as if trying to get rid of the caterpillar's tracks, as Juan laughed out loud at Arana's face that looked like a daze.
Alva glanced at Juan sharply. "Stop your joke, Juan! Ala's hurt, your behavior can make Alana even more hurt."
Juan flicked his shoulders, "Come on. It was just a little joke. He couldn't possibly have done anything with just a little caterpillar."
Alva hissed, "You clearly know that Ala is afraid of caterpillars."
"I don't care, but don't even think about doing that again in the future." Firmly Alva before pushing Arana away from Juan who looked at the two while crossing his arms, with a gaze that was difficult to explain.
