"Drink milk first, baby."
Arletta left her gaze on Lydia and softly said to Arana while handing Arana a glass of milk. Arana took it in peace and drank it. Under the gaze of Michael and Lydia, Arana handed over half of the milk she drank to Alva. Alva also calmly downed the milk and stood up to bring the glass to the kitchen.
"Eh? Why does Alva drink milk?" Lydia's parroting.
Arletta sat down beside Arana who had lowered her legs and said in a relaxed voice. "Nothing's wrong. The Alva only wants everything that Arana eats or drinks. Maybe it's the baby."
"I mean Alva .. cravings?" Ask Lydia doubtfully.
"You could say so." Arletta nodded as she opened the cookies and offered them to Arana. "You want cake, Na?"
Arana shook her head and refused politely. "No, ma. Nana's still full."
Arletta smiled and then put the cookies back on the table. There was silence for some time before Michael opened his voice. "Is the baby a boy or a girl?"
"Ah, still don't know, pa. Pregnancy is one month." Arana explained.
"Nana is only one month pregnant, of course, still can not know what the sex of the baby. Even Nana's stomach hasn't been bulging." Arletta. "By the way women and men are, we as grandparents just have to love and love him as a grandfather and grandmother treats her grandchildren."
Michael eyes Arletta who is asking Arana if Arana needs anything. Michael asked, "Where is Johan?"
"On a business trip. Maybe it'll be back in a few days. By the way, are you guys going to stay over?"
Lydia looked at Michael. The man shook his head. "No, I still have to go back to the company after this because there are some meetings. My wife might still be living here."
Lidia sighed faintly and nodded her head. "If allowed, I'll stay overnight. I also have to talk to Alana to discuss the matter of Mother and son."
Arletta just nodded. "Then I'll have auntie prepare a room for you tonight."
Not long after, Alva returned from the kitchen. He was seen chewing something in his mouth and was even holding a plate of strobery cake in his left hand when he sat back down. Arletta glanced at Michael unbeknownst to the man and said with a carefree smile to Alva. "It seems the baby is a girl. I remember reading if someone cravings and likes to eat sweet, chances are that the baby is a girl."
"You used to be, didn't you, Lydia?"
Being asked such a question, Lydia stiffly replied, "It doesn't seem like it should always be. I used to love eating sweet when I was pregnant with Hiro."
"But I have a feeling that the baby is a girl. What if the baby's a girl, Nan?" Ask Arletta to Alva.
Alva nodded. "Alva doesn't think about her gender, because Al is already very happy that Nan is going to be a father. If the baby's a boy, she'll help Al protect Nana. But if the baby is a girl, she will accompany the shopping mama. Everything's equally beneficial to Al, ma."
Arletta chuckled at Alva's words.
His son is really reliable.
Then, feeling no longer having a conversation after some time, Michael said goodbye while Lidia was still living there with the intention of staying overnight. In a family chat, Lydia was almost more silent and did not speak if the topics discussed were out of her control. Only Arana consciously asked Lydia several times because Arana did not know what kind of relationship between Arletta and Lydia, so the mother seemed quite awkward near Arletta.
"Can we talk for a minute, Na?"
That night, before moving to her room, Lydia said to Arana who was about to go to her room following Alva. Arana looked at Lydia for some time before nodding her head. "Can, ma. But I'll let Alva know first, so he won't wait."
Lydia was slightly surprised by Arana's response before nodding her head. "Then my mom will be waiting for you in the guest room."
"Yes." Yeah." Arana answered while nodding her head and left Lydia for her room. Five minutes later, Arana came back down and followed Lydia who was already in the guest room, opened the door and closed it again.
"Sit down."
Lidia patted the mattress next to her, encoding Arana to sit next to her. Arana stepped closer to Lydia and sat down beside her. There was a distance that could be seen with the naked eye that Arana made to Lydia. Lydia looked at Arana and said, "Mama wants to talk about your gynecology, Rana."
"What's wrong with my body?" Ask Arana directly.
"You know, right, that Alana had a weak body since she was a baby? The doctor said that Alana will not be able to give birth more than once, because the contents will become weak, and it also slowly eats away at her body."
"Therefore, I really hope that you will hand this baby over to Alana later for treatment. Mama will try to persuade Alana to accept Alva, so you can go back to living your life as before."
"I've lived my life as before if you had realized it." Say Arana with a firm tone of voice.
"I never visited my mother again. I never asked you about mom and dad. I just called my mom and dad for a really important moment. If I hadn't contacted my mom in my pregnancy, wouldn't that be weird? So I called my mom. It's not that I want you to know everything about me or that I'm just mouthing around wanting to know about my mom and dad, but because I don't want my identity to be suspected." Arana explained at length without any change in expression.
Lidia was silent to Arana's words before she frowned. "Rana, what do you mean?"
Arana looked at Lydia. "Mama and papa will never acknowledge my presence as a daughter of mama and papa, right?"
Lydia's tongue was muffled and she just stared at Arana who was still talking. "Mama said that I will live my life as before when Alana comes back. Yeah, my life without family. My life without the role of parents who should still take care of me at my young age, and without a figure who would listen to my grievances when I was exhausted and almost died from having to make a living for myself, so that I could eat and live under a small roof without having to be exposed to rain or cold nights while I knew that I had a family that even had a house like a palace, dozens of maids and who would never feel the taste of hunger!"
Arana sniffles. "I just want to know, ma. What makes me like such trash?"
"Why is it just me? I'm also mom and dad's son, right?"
"Down your voice, Na!" Lydia looked at Arana and slightly raised her voice, "What if someone hears?"
Arana sighed and calmly rubbed her face before slowly standing up. "Sorry, mom. I'm a little sensitive because of my pregnancy. Please rest, I won't interrupt mama's rest."
Arana then leaves Lydia staring at Arana until the door closes, leaving a dark shadow of the room that slowly narrows and disappears behind the brown painted door.
What Arana wants is not grandiose she should be treated as Alana is treated. All Arana wants is to be recognized.
Enough with a confession.
