Chapter 59: growing courage

Sulis led Ahmad to the back of his house. He showed me a garden surrounded by a bamboo fence.

"Here, Ahmad. This is where we store vegetables and flowers" Sulis said.

Ahmad looked around. The garden looked lively and fertile. Some flowers are flowering, while some vegetable plants are growing well.

"It's beautiful" said Ahmad.

Sulis smiled. "thank you. I love taking care of this garden. I wish I could show you how to take good care of her."

Ahmad smiled while nodding. "I wish I could learn from you, Sulis."

However, Sulis observed Ahmad's expression. There was fear in his eyes. Sulis knew that Ahmad sometimes felt afraid when faced with plants or animals that were new to him.

"While growing vegetables, we will also grow your courage" Sulis said.

Ahmad looked at Sulis in astonishment. "What do you mean?"

Sulis took the towel that was used to uproot the weeds. "When we grow plants, we must also eliminate weeds and pests that plague plants. It takes courage and perseverance."

Ahmad watched the towel and nodded. "I understand."

"All right, now we start growing vegetables. First of all, we'll plant tomatoes." Sulis gave a tomato plant to Ahmad. "Please dig a hole in the ground and plant the tomato seed."

Ahmad took a towel and dug a hole in the ground. He planted the tomato seedlings carefully. Sulis helps her cover the roots and gives water.

Saath started to feel comfortable and started talking to Sulis. "Sulis, why are you so good at taking care of these parks and gardens?"

Sulis smiled. "Then, I was also scared and had no experience in gardening. However, I learned by observing and practicing. Slowly, I can take good care of this."

Ahmad nodded. "I wish I could keep learning from you, Sulis."

Sulis smiled, happy because Ahmad began to show courage and enthusiasm to learn. He hopes that courage and passion will continue to grow and develop with Ahmad in the future.

After planting several types of vegetables, Sulis told Ahmad to clean the area around the plant from weeds. Ahmad looked a little hesitant, but Sulis gave him some encouragement.

"You can do it, Ahmad! Come on, let's clean this grass together" Sulis said excitedly.

Ahmad nodded and began to carefully clean the weeds around the plants. Little by little, he became more confident and courageous. Sulis was pleased to see the development of Ahmad.

"There's been a lot of change in you, Ahmad. You become more confident and courageous. I'm proud of you" Sulis said with pride.

Sulis smiled, he felt satisfaction and was happy to be able to help Ahmad. "I'm glad I could teach you. Do not hesitate to ask questions or provide feedback. We can learn together."

As the sun rose, Sulis asked Ahmad to rest while enjoying fresh fruits from his garden. Ahmad thanked them and they both ate together.

"Did you have a big dream, Sulis?" ask Ahmad.

Sulis smiled, contemplating for a moment before answering. "I dreamed that this garden could be an example for the surrounding community to learn to make plants and grow their own vegetables. I feel that we can help society become more independent and take good care of our surroundings."

Ahmad nodded with a smile full of appreciation. "You have a glorious and wonderful dream, Sulis. I believe that you can make it happen."

Sulis smiled. "Thank you, Ahmad. We can make that dream come true together."

In his heart, Sulis was happy because he had the support of Ahmad. Maybe the journey is still long, but at least Sulis has found a friend who can support him in realizing the big dream.

After eating together, Sulis and Ahmad returned to the garden. They continue the work of cleaning the area around the plants from weeds. Ahmad is increasingly adept and confident in cleaning weeds.

Suddenly, they heard the sound of laughter and shouting from the direction of the highway. They saw a group of teenagers throwing garbage carelessly and damaging the plants around the Sulis garden.

Sulis was upset and angry. He approached them and gave a little reprimand. "Hey, why are you throwing trash around and ruining this environment? Don't do anything that harms the environment and other people!"

The teenagers only consider Sulis and Ahmad a young girl and an ordinary teenager. They ignored Sulis' reprimands and threw even more trash.

Ahmad felt Sulis was in danger and removed the gloves he was wearing. He asked the teenagers to leave the garden of Sulis and warned them that Sulis and his garden should be cherished.

After the teenagers left, Sulis thanked Ahmad. "Thank you, Ahmad, you have helped and protected me. You are a good and loyal friend."

Ahmad just smiled and felt happy because he could help his friend. He felt that Sulis created a positive environment and the twists and turns of a pleasant life.

In his heart, Sulis thanked Allah who had given a friend Ahmad, he felt that Ahmad was his best friend. In togetherness, they expect a better life for them and the surrounding community who can continue to learn and develop themselves through the garden.

Sulis and Ahmad were happy and satisfied with the work they had completed in the garden. They stood in the middle of the garden, enjoying the gentle breeze that hit their faces. Sulis looked around the garden happily and felt proud of his work.

Ahmad looked at Sulis with a gaze full of admiration and said, "This garden will be a beautiful and pleasant place for many people. And it all started with your vision and your hard work, Sulis."

Sulis smiled happily, "Thank you, Ahmad. I am happy to be able to make the environment better and healthier through this garden. And I'm so grateful that there are friends like you who are always ready to help."

The two of them looked at each other, with togetherness and happiness emanating from their faces. They feel, as long as they work together, they are able to create something beautiful and meaningful for the surrounding community.

In their hearts, they pray that this garden can continue to be a beautiful place and provide benefits for many people, as well as increasing togetherness and happiness in their lives.
