FINDING THE TRUE MEANING OF FRIENDSHIP

Chapter 112: Finding the True Meaning of Friendship

Sulis and Ahmad sat on the terrace of Sulis' house, enjoying a cup of coffee.

Sulis: Ahmad, I feel very lucky to have a friend like you. You have always been there for me and supported me in difficult times.

Ahmad: I feel the same, Sulis. You always listen to my complaints and give me encouragement. Our friendship makes life more beautiful.

Sulis: But I was thinking about the true meaning of friendship. Like, we always accompany each other and support each other. But, what exactly makes friendship so valuable?

Ahmad: (smiling) In my opinion, there are several factors that make friendship so valuable. First is trust. We trust each other and don't worry that our secrets will spread. Second, friendship evokes a positive spirit and energy in our lives. When we talk and tell stories, we feel lighter and happier.

Scribe: Hmm, I agree. In addition, friendship also enriches our lives with new experiences and different perspectives.

Ahmad: That's right, Sulis. Friendship can also help us become better as human beings. By reminding each other and giving advice, we can grow and develop together.

Sulis: (smiling) Thank you, Ahmad. Every time we talk, I always feel easier and happier. I am grateful to have a friend like you.

Ahmad: Same, Sulis. You always make me feel happy and appreciated. We strengthen and complement each other.

They nodded in agreement, while enjoying a cup of coffee on the terrace. For Sulis and Ahmad, friendship is not just gathering and telling stories. More than that, friendship is a strong bond and supports each other, giving confidence, passion, and new experiences.

Sulis: Why yes, Ahmad, sometimes among friends there can also be differences of opinion or even quarrels?

Ahmad: Yes, Sulis, every human being has different values and views. So, sometimes we don't get along in a certain way. But, the important thing is to respect each other and respect each other's differences. We must not only be able to accept differences but also be able to learn from them.

Sulis: Okay. I will try to be more open and understand the views of my friends. Thanks for the advice, Ahmad.

Ahmad: Of course, Sulis. There is no perfect friendship. What matters is the way we manage it and stay supportive of each other. Don't worry, I'll always be here for you.

Sulis: Thank you, Ahmad. You are a good friend.

They all smiled, feeling warm in his heart. For Sulis, even though every friendship is not perfect, having loyal friends and caring for each other is a pleasure that should never be ignored.

Sulis looked at Ahmad, then he spoke, "True friends give you support and make you feel safe. They provide inspiration and encouragement for you. Not only when you're in a state of joy, but when you're in a state of slump or sadness, they're ready to help you."

Ahmad nodded in agreement with a smile, "That's fine, Sulis. We should always accept the good that people around us give us, including by our friends. In this journey of life, we do have to pass through various obstacles and trials, but when we have our friends, the experience will be easier to pass."

Sulis agreed with his statement, "Yes right, Ahmad. Friendship also teaches us about trust. We learn to trust each other, provide support and care for each other, and appreciate the uniqueness of each other. In this process, we also learn to be our true selves, and that is the true meaning of friendship."

Ahmad smiled broadly at Sulis' words, "Are you calling me Sulis? Hehe."

"Ah, you must understand what I mean, Ahmad," Sulis replied with a smile.

The two of them looked at each other for a few seconds and then laughed together, feeling the warmth of friendship between them. Sulis took a deep breath. He is grateful to have Ahmad as his true friend and he realizes that he must always take good care of the relationship and appreciate the existence of Ahmad in his life.

Sulis spoke again after laughing together, "But, sometimes we also need to face conflict in friendship. However, by means of good communication and mutual understanding, we can solve the problem and strengthen our relationship as friends."

Ahmad listened seriously, "Yes, Sulis. Communication is important in friendship. We need to be open and honest with each other. Never over-exaggerate negative feelings or thoughts, because they will only damage our relationship as friends."

Sulis spoke again, "Friendship also teaches us about tolerance, that all people have advantages and disadvantages. We should be able to accept each other's differences, and learn to respect each other."

Ahmad nodded in agreement, "Just like us, Sulis. We also have differences, but that does not make us distanced or dislike each other. We continue to support each other and help each other, even while going through tough things."

Sulis smiled, "Yes, Ahmad. Friendship is about giving each other support and togetherness. We learn to be together through life, to accept each other's kindness, and to keep our relationship awake."

Ahmad narrowed his eyes with a big smile, "A true friend is like that, Sulis. They are always by our side, when we are happy or sad, even when we are less fortunate in life. They'll help us soon and never leave us alone."

Sulis smiled broadly, "Yes, Ahmad. That is the true meaning of friendship. We always hold fast and respect our relationship as true friends."

Sulis then added, "But, to find such a true friend, we need time and effort. We have to communicate with each other, get closer to each other, and take the time to get together."

Ahmad agreed, "Betul, Sulis. We cannot rely solely on luck or fate to find a true friend. We should try to find, and also be good friends to others."

Sulis nodded, "That's right, Ahmad. We also need to be able to maintain our friendship. When we feel our relationship with a friend is disrupted, we can try to talk and find solutions together."

Sulis nodded in agreement, "Friendship is a precious gift. We must always take care of him and keep him immortal despite being in a difficult situation. True friends will always be present at every step of our lives to support and help us achieve our dreams."

Ahmad smiled, "Yes, Sulis. I am so grateful to have a friend like you. We will continue to keep our relationship together and strengthen it into a true, long-lasting friendship."

Sulis blushed shyly but smiled happily at Ahmad's words, "Sama-sama, Ahmad. I feel lucky to have a friend like you. We will continue to support each other and help each other in every step of our lives."

Sulis then added, "But, to find such a true friend, we need time and effort. We have to communicate with each other, get closer to each other, and take the time to get together."

Sulis blushed shyly but smiled happily at Ahmad's words, "Sama-sama, Ahmad. I feel lucky to have a friend like you. We will continue to support each other and help each other in every step of our lives."

Sulis continued, "But, of course true friendship is not just about supporting each other and helping each other. True friendship is also about mutual respect, respect, and mutual understanding of differences."

Ahmad nodded in agreement, "Betul, Sulis. We don't always have to agree on everything, but we should be able to respect each other's views."

Sulis added, "In addition, as true friends, we should also be able to be good ears for our friends who are feeling difficulties. We must listen to their grievances and provide moral support."

Ahmad greeted Sulis with a smile, "Yes, Sulis. We should be able to be ear-friendly companions for our companions. Listen to them without judgment and give motivating words to move forward."

Sulis smiled, "True friends should also remind each other when they are wrong and give constructive criticism, not condescending ones."

Ahmad agreed, "Yes, Sulis. Constructive criticism can help us grow and develop into a better person. We should be able to accept criticism from a true friend as a precious gift."

Sulis smiled in satisfaction, "We already understand the true meaning of friendship. Now, our job is to carry out those values in every friendly relationship we have."

Ahmad agreed, "Betul, Sulis. We will not only be true friends to each other, but also to others who need friends in their lives."

Sulis patted Ahmad on the shoulder, "We have completed our task today. We have found the true meaning of friendship."

Ahmad nodded, "Thank you, Sulis. You always give a wise look."

Sulis smiled, "Sama-sama, Ahmad. We learn from each other and support each other."

The two of them stepped out of the cafe where they met and got on the bike. Sulis hugged Ahmad's waist while looking at the darkening sky.

"Sul, do you want me to drive you home?" ahmad asked while turning on his motorbike.

"No need, I'm still going to the store first. All shopping for necessities at home. I haven't been to the market yet" replied Sulis.

Ahmad nodded, "Alright, be careful on the road, Sul."

Sulis smiled, "Yes, be careful when you go home, Ahmad."

They both launched their bikes in different directions, saying goodbye to each other with a smile. Sulis felt the warmth of their friendship, not even night could extinguish it.

Finally, Sulis understood, true friendship is indeed beautiful and worth keeping. He is determined to continue to care for and strengthen the friendship he has, because in it there is a lot of goodness and hope for his future.
