Chapter 15: Courage for the Future

Sulis sat pensively on a large rock facing the sea. He felt a gentle breeze sweep across his face and stroked his broken hair. A sunny Sunday makes the atmosphere on the beach feel so peaceful. Next to him, Ahmad sat down with a fluffy smile, like a winner in this world.

Sulis: (looking at Ahmad) Ahmad, I am really amazed by your journey so far. You are so brave to pursue your dreams and never hesitate to fight.

Ahmad: (low smile) Thank you, Sulis. But, you know what? I was also afraid of facing so many things.

Sulis: (smiling wryly) Seriously? But you seem so confident, there's nothing to show that you've ever been scared.

Ahmad: (smiling softly) Sulis, courage does not mean not being afraid. Courage is about being able to deal with it, despite the fear of deep within. No human being is born without fear, but we can face it with our heads held high, still running towards our dreams.

Sulis: I understand what you are saying. I still feel afraid to face the future, especially if I have to part with loved ones.

Ahmad: (looking at Sulis full of tenderness) Sulis, courage is not only about daring to step, but also dare to let go. Living this life, there are times when we must let go of what we love most for their happiness. Believe me, your future has many sheets of hope waiting, and you must greet it with your head held high.

Sulis: (sighs deeply) Well, maybe you were right. I can't let fear haunt my heart. I have to dare to face my future, despite the uncertainty.

Ahmad: (holding Sulis' hand slowly) You must be able, Sulis. You have all the goodness and courage in you. Believe in your dreams and don't let fear get in the way.

Sulis: Thank you, Ahmad. I am so lucky to have a friend like you who always gives support and inspiration.

Ahmad: (sincere smile) This journey of life cannot be passed by ourselves, Sulis. We need loved ones to help, encourage, and strengthen each other. I am so grateful to be able to do this with you.

Sulis: I am also grateful that you are on your side. I will fight, face my fears, and sweep away every leaf of hope for the future. I believe we will find happiness at the end of our journey.

Ahmad: (smiling softly) Together, Sulis. Let us greet the future with boundless determination and courage.

The above dialogue illustrates the sincerity of feeling between Sulis and Ahmad in supporting each other to face the future with courage. They reassure each other that fear is natural, but the ability to deal with it vigorously is the key to achieving desired dreams and happiness.

After learning that their plan to fuse the Roses and the Ridwan failed, Sulis and Ahmad felt sad and disappointed. They know how important the relationship of the Rose with Ridwan is for the progress of the life of the Rose and also the opportunity to continue his studies outside the city. Sulis finally dared to face the Rose and felt the need to provide an explanation.

The three of them sat in a corner of the park near their school. Sulis looked nervous, but still tried to calm herself down. "Rose," he said softly, "I want to apologize because our plan didn't work. I just want some good for you, but it turns out destiny says something else."

Ahmad, who was sitting next to Sulis, also felt called to give an explanation. "Ridwan is a good man, really kind. But, unfortunately he is still not ready to have the ernest and serious relationship as you expect" he said slowly.

Sulis added, "He is still too attached to his responsibilities to his family. He was too worried that the relationship would interfere with his education and future. Ridwan's afraid he can't give you the best."

The rose paused for a moment, absorbing all the information it had just heard. He felt shocked because all the time he spent with Ridwan was just a waste. She felt sad that her first love had ended before it actually began.

"But why didn't you tell me from the beginning?" the rose with sadness. "Isn't our friendship based on honesty?"

Ahmad nodded in understanding, "We regret having hidden this from you, Rose. We were worried that you would get too attached to Ridwan and then get crushed when he suddenly leaves. We want to protect you."

"Maybe it's true as you say. But I can decide for myself what is best for me, Sulis and Ahmad. I want to hear and feel for myself the truth from Ridwan," said Rose steadily.

Sulis and Ahmad looked at each other, then Sulis clasped the hands of the Rose. "We are there for you, Rose. We will support you in every decision you make" Sulis said with a smile.

Rose smiled small, feeling grateful to have a friend as good as Sulis and Ahmad. Though disappointed by the end of her love story, she promises to stay strong and seek happiness elsewhere. And with the support of her two best friends, Rose faces the future with new courage and hope.

The three of them walked together leaving the school garden, ready to face whatever came. Although their story does not end in love as they expected, they know there are still many other life sheets ready for them to write together. The opportunity to achieve the dream is still in sight, and they all feel optimistic that their wait will bear fruit later.

Sulis and Ahmad sat side by side in their school library. They were working on an Indonesian task related to the novel they were reading, "Sheet of Hope". The novel tells the story of an orphan named Rizky in the face of various life challenges.

Sulis lifted his head from the book and looked at Ahmad with an anxious face. "Ahmad, I feel very sad to read about the fate of Rizky in this novel. He must live without parents and must fight alone to achieve his dreams. I can't imagine what it's like to be an orphan like him."

Ahmad felt the same unease as Sulis. He knows that as an orphanage boy, Rizky must fight harder to achieve his little dreams. However, Ahmad has one clear distinction with Rizky. "Written, even though we don't have complete parents, we have each other. We can support each other and be each other's family."

Sulis smiled softly at Ahmad's words. "Yes, Ahmad, you are right. We are family in our hearts. We have our own dreams and ambitions, and I'm sure we can make them happen as long as we support each other and work together."

Ahmad felt the spirit of Sulis to be a boost for him. He was convinced that with their fighting power and learning spirit, they would be able to reach their ideals and change their own destiny. "You know, Sulis, Rizky may have lost everything, but she never lost hope. He kept trying and believed that his future would be better. That's what we should take away from this novel."

Sulis nodded his head in agreement. "You are right, Ahmad. Hope is the key to achieving our dreams. We must keep fighting and believing that every problem must have a solution. Like Rizky, we have to be a relentless warrior."

They refocused on their task, but this time with even greater fervor. Sulis and Ahmad promised each other that they would support each other in the face of all obstacles and achieve their dreams. They know that even though they have lost their parents, they still have hope and each other. With their strong hopes and togetherness, Sulis and Ahmad are convinced that they can become successful and achieve a better life.
