SULIS SEARCH

Chapter 17: The Search for Sulis

That morning, Ahmad sat pensively on the porch of his house, staring into the coffee cup in his hand. His heart was still full of worries about Sulis' departure. They had been friends since childhood and Sulis was the only friend who truly understood him. Ahmad realized that he had to do something to find and help Sulis.

While drinking coffee, Ahmad pulled out his phone and opened the last message sent by Sulis. "Who knows where I am?" write Sulis in the message. Ahmad knew that he had to start his search by tracking down Sulis' last move.

He went through other Sulis messages, looking for any clues that could help him find his friend. "What does this message mean?" murmured Ahmad, while reading another message from Sulis. "Add peace to find the truth."

Ahmad thought about the intent behind those words. After a moment of thought, he realized that Sulis had always been quiet in a quiet and peaceful place. "Could he be in a quiet place?" ahmad thought while strengthening his belief.

Without a second thought, Ahmad rushed to pick up the keys to his motorcycle. He enters the last GPS coordinates sent by Sulis and begins the journey. The air was warm and the wind gushed softly as he drove down the streets. Ahmad felt closer to Sulis.

After several hours down the road, Ahmad finally arrived at a hill located far away in the countryside. On top of the hill, there is an old temple surrounded by trees and green grass. The sound of water gurgling and wind ripples adds to the tranquility of the atmosphere.

"Is this the place Sulis was referring to?" muram Ahmad, fascinated by the beauty of the temple.

"Of course, this is the right place, Ahmad." Suddenly, Sulis' voice sounded behind him. Ahmad was surprised and immediately turned around. Before him, Sulis stood with a big smile on his face.

"Why did you just leave, Sulis? I'm very worried about you" Ahmad said, hugging his best friend tightly.

Sulis smiled as he replied, "I'm sorry, Ahmad, I went to seek peace and find the truth within myself. I feel lucky to have found this place. It felt so peaceful and gave me the calm I needed."

Ahmad understood what Sulis felt. He sees his surroundings and feels the same peace. He was grateful to have found a friend he loved and trusted.

"Alright, Sulis. I understand your reasons. I'm glad you found peace in this place. We will always be friends who support each other in every journey of our lives," said Ahmad, holding his hand tightly.

With a smile, the two of them sat by a pond in the temple, enjoying the peace they were looking for and planning their next adventure together.

Sulis and Ahmad had met in a shopping mall after a long time without seeing each other. They sat in a cozy cafe in his quiet corner.

Sulis: Ahmad, how long have we not seen each other. It feels like time has stopped moving since we last got together.

Ahmed: Yes, Sulis. Miss you. But, how are you? What the hell's been going on all this time?

Sulis: There's a lot going on, Ahmad. I have completed my studies and now work as a journalist at a magazine. I am very happy with my work, although it is sometimes exhausting.

Ahmad: That's an amazing achievement, Sulis. I'm proud of you. What about your family?

Sulis: Thank you, Ahmad. I'm proud of myself too. About the family, everything is fine. My father retired and now enjoys his old age playing chess with his friends every day. My mother was also in good health and remained active in social activities in our neighborhood.

Ahmad: I'm fine too, Sulis. My family is also in good condition. My father still works as a lawyer, while my mother still teaches in an elementary school. I also finished my studies and now work in a tech company as a programmer. I am quite happy with my work, although sometimes stressed with tight deadlines.

Sulis: I'm very happy to hear that, Ahmad. We've both accomplished a lot since we last met.

Ahmad: Yes, Sulis. I'm sure we'll continue to inspire each other as we always have.

Sulis: Sure, Ahmad. Our friendship is a sheet of hope that always provides passion and motivation at every step of our lives. I thank you for having a friend like you.

Ahmad: Same, Sulis. It was an honor for me to have a friend like you. We will always support and encourage each other to achieve our dreams.

Sulis and Ahmad smiled at each other, sensing that their friendship still remained strong and unshakable despite having not met for a long time. They spent the rest of the afternoon telling stories about their life's journey and future plans they still wanted to achieve.

Sulis sat pensively on a park bench, while the twilight sky began to envelop the city. He kept flipping through the contents of the letter he had written over the past few weeks. The letter was a letter confessing his feelings to Ahmad, his best friend since childhood.

Ahmad, who knew about the letter, decided to look for it in the park. He approached Sulis with a attentive look and asked, "What are you thinking, Sulis? Have you sent that letter?"

Sulis sighed and looked at Ahmad with a tense face. "I haven't sent it yet, Ahmad. There is still a lot of fear and doubt in me. What if my feelings don't respond well? What if I lose the friendship we've been building all this time?"

Ahmad took a sitting position next to Sulis. He placed his hands on the back of the chair and looked at Sulis sincerely. "Sulis, our friendship will not be destroyed just because of the feeling of love. I really appreciate our relationship and will always regard as my best friend, no matter what."

Sulis smiled gently. He felt relief in Ahmad's words. "Thank you, Ahmad. I really need to hear that from you. But, what should I do with this feeling? I was distressed by the unspoken love."

Ahmad looked at Sulis meaningfully. "Write, life is too short to keep feelings in the heart. I believe that uncertainty will only make you more burdened. Don't be afraid to pursue what you want, even if it's scary."

Sulis bit his lower lip, letting Ahmad's words permeate his heart. He felt his spirit and courage begin to burn within him. "You are right, Ahmad. I have to face this feeling honestly. Although there's a chance of rejection, at least I've tried."

Ahmad smiled proudly. "That's what I said, Sulis. Your ability to face your fears is one of the things that makes me proud to be your friend. Come on, tomorrow we'll send the letter together. I'll be your full support."

Sulis felt his heart begin to pump in a long-buried courage. He felt very lucky to have Ahmad by his side. Together they talk about their plan to express Sulis' feelings to someone who has been more than just a friend.

The next day, Sulis and Ahmad walked to the post office feeling flowery. Letters laughed at and mourned all this time will finally be given. Although their hearts were still pounding, their courage grew with the support of each other.

They entered the post office and Sulis showed his letter to the officers there. Just then, relief and joy filled Sulis mind. No matter what would happen next, Sulis knew that she was doing her best and dared to face her instincts.

Ahmad smiled and gave a hopeful look to Sulis. "May all this bring us blessings. I'll always be there for you, Sulis."
