Fifty Five

Noah clasped Evelyn's restless hand, not wanting his wife to feel anxious. "Everything's fine, baby trust me. Just relax, okay?" Noah looked at his wife and then rubbed Evelyn's hair.

"But I'm afraid something might happen, but there's no way my mom would tell us to go home quickly if there's nothing urgent. "although Noah was also surprised and worried but he covered it up, didn't want to make Evelyn panic any more. They should have come home later. But early in the morning Noah's mom called and asked them to come home right now. They even skipped breakfast to get home soon.

"Can be accelerated sir" Pinta Eve on the driver who accidentally sent mama Noah to pick them up.

"No need sir, keep your safety" refute Noah quickly. He looked at Evelyn again.

"Don't panic baby, maybe mommy's doing something. I've been used to receiving mama's pranks. Calm down" Noah hugged his wife, Eve nodding though he remained unable to hide the unrest in his eyes.

After a 20-minute journey that felt like 20 hours for Eve they finally arrived at Noah's house. A car Noah knew was already parked there.

"Whose car is it?" Eve asked when she saw her husband frowning at the car.

"Syahira's papa car, it's nothing. Mama's phone must be because they came" Noah said, relieved, maybe Syahira's parents want to congratulate directly considering that the two Syahira parents previously reported that they could not attend the wedding of Noah and Eve because they had to leave the city suddenly 2 days before wedding's happening.

Eve returned Noah's smile despite her heart feeling a little restless. Eve felt that there was a problem waiting for them at this moment.

Noah clasped Evelyn's hand and invited her inside immediately. But the atmosphere seemed gripping when they entered the living room where there was already a mother papa Noah and mama papa Syahira. There was a hot aura coming out, the faces of mama Noah and mama Syahira looked tense holding back the anger.

"Ma, old uda pa?" Noah asked with a smile adorning his lips. He approached Shahira and shook hands as did Eve who followed behind. As she was about to turn to Shahira's mother, Noah frowned to see the look of hatred on that face, the woman even threw away her face and seemed unwilling to accept a helping hand from Noah.

Noah turned around and looked at Eve, he could see the fear in those eyes seeing the expression of Noah's in-laws. Noah grabs Eve's hand and smiles trying to calm his wife.

"So straight away, my goal is to come here to take Cilla" said Mama Syahira with a stern and cynical look.

Noah and Eve who had just sat down stared in shock at the woman.

"What does mama mean?" Noah still tried to respond calmly.

"I don't want my granddaughter to be taken care of by you and her stepmother. I'll take over my grandson's upbringing" Mama Syahira now stared intently at the paled-looking Eve.

"But why ma?"

"You've got your first love back. I don't want Cilla's growth to be disturbed because it does not get affection from her parents. I am sure at this time you will only focus on your wife who you really craved for a long time. Maybe Cilla you'll ignore"

Noah and Eve looked at each other, not expecting the woman's way of thinking. They were amazed to see the attitude of Mama Syahira changed unlike when Noah and Eve asked for blessing to get married the other day.

"Ma, Cilla's Noah's son. Where could we ignore it."

Eve's body trembled, she felt both sad and scared. Obviously hatred in the eyes of Mama Syahira for him.

"Why can you think that far? Noah's not the man you're accusing." Noah is still trying to suppress his emotions, he believes there is someone who has instigated his in-laws.

"Noah never betrayed Shahira, Noah carried out Noah's responsibilities and obligations as a husband well. Mama's accusations are completely baseless"

"Well today I give up, but I will come back again to take my grandchildren. Let's go home" said Mama Syahira as he moved and passed with arrogance, papa Syahira pleaded farewell with a look of guilt over the attitude of his wife.

Noah let out a heavy sigh after his in-laws had left his home. He did not expect the pebbles had begun to hit at the beginning of his marriage with Evelyn.

Noah turned his head and looked gently at his grieving wife.

"All will be well, don't worry dear" The man hugged Evelyn's body, he felt his wife's body tremble. The cry Eve had been enduring was now breaking in her husband's warm embrace.
