Evelyn's Regret

Evelyn's Regret
Forty Two

Evelyn still sat stunned after Satria left her in disappointment. Although Eve never gave hope to Satria from the beginning, still the guilt came to greet her heart. But Eve thought this was better for Satria, Evelyn did not want to force Satria to accept while her heart was never open to the man. Wouldn't it hurt more in the end?

The approaching move slightly disturbed Evelyn's daydream, the girl turned to the source of the voice. His chest that had previously felt tight now turned so light when he saw the cheerful smile of the little girl who was getting closer to him, there was mama Noah who accompanied the small step. Evelyn did not understand since when Cilla began to affect her feelings, she did not expect Cilla to be able to make her feelings improve quickly.

"Hi beautiful, here hug" Evelyn spread her arms, Cilla cheerfully ran a little squander into Eve's arms.

"Mama's embrace" The plump toddler chirped as her body had entered Evelyn's warm embrace, the girl scolded Cilla with her anxiety.

Mama Noah stared at the interaction of the two with a smile. After a long time finally Cilla can get a mother figure in Evelyn, although mama Noah knows it will not last long considering the status of Evelyn who is a nobody for Cilla. There was no reason to hold her back if the girl decided to leave immediately.

"Cilla is very happy with your existence Eve"

Evelyn turned to look at Noah's mother who was already sitting on the park bench. Evelyn sat down by Noah's side with Cilla still in her arms.

"Cilla misses a mother's affection so much." Mama Noah said again accompanied by a bitter smile.

Evelyn seemed to lose the word to chimed in the words of mama Noah who looked at her softly. Her hand rubbed Cilla's head which was leaning comfortably on her chest.

"Cilla needed a mother figure, but Noah was too shut out of women since the departure of Shahira. Several times she introduced him to her friend's son, and Noah always refused"

There was a sense of unwillingness when imagining Noah with another woman. But Evelyn was powerless to forbid, Noah's mom was right Cilla needed a mother.

"Hopefully one day Noah's heart opens. Hopefully one day there will be a good woman who can replace the brother of Shahira to fill the heart of Brother Noah and give love to Cilla." Eve's lips could easily utter those words, yet her heart continued to scream involuntarily.

"If you can be honest, I wish that woman was Eve. But it seems unlikely given your serious relationship with Satria. I'm sorry you have to say this yes, mama didn't mean to ruin your relationship with Satria Eve. Mama supports you, Satria is a good man who can definitely make you happy"

Evelyn turned her face away, looking at Cilla who continued to chatter and occasionally rubbed Evelyn's face. Should he explain to Noah's mom that he and Satria are just friends?

"Eve, there's actually something that Mama wants to tell you. But my mom hesitated"

"What ma? why should I doubt?"

"Syahira left a letter for you, but mama was afraid that there was a request that Shahira asked you. Mama is afraid it will affect your relationship with Satria. Mom doesn't want to make you feel overwhelmed. But on the other hand, my mother felt sinful to Shahira if she did not convey her message" There was a great anger in the eyes of mama Noah.

"Nothing ma, a letter from my brother Syahira will not make me burdened. Mama is calm. If you will feel calmer if the letter is delivered to me, I promise not to be affected by the contents"

Evelyn slid her body on the bed. After Cilla took a nap Evelyn said goodbye to return to the inn. The girl's gaze glazed over, her memory returning as Noah escorted her.

"Thank you for accompanying Cilla Eve. I'm also sorry to bring you back to a difficult situation that makes you unable to freely live your day while here. Until my apology goes to Satria for making her uncomfortable" Noah looked deeply at Evelyn, He could feel the girl's anger when he heard her remark.

"Sister, please don't discuss this again. I told you I'm glad I did this. I no longer want to hear troublesome words and the like. I'm sincere about this for Cilla. Okay well? and one more thing about Satria I think I've said very clearly that we don't have any relationship, so for every action I don't need to consider Satria's feelings" Evelyn again sewot, he was upset at Noah's attitude.

"But Satria likes you Eve, at least you still have to appreciate and keep her feelings"

"But I don't like him, brother! and Satria knows it. I never gave her any hope." There was despair in Evelyn's words. But the girl's heart turned flowery as she caught a glimpse of Noah stalling a smile. But the man immediately turned his face when he realized Evelyn was staring at him.

"Yes, you rest. Brother went home first, if you need anything to do with brother" Noah said after a while they fell silent.

"Yes thanks uda nganterin. I'm going in first"

evelyn's reply was answered with a nod of the head by Noah.

Evelyn hugged her roll tightly with a smile that adorned her lips as she recalled the previous incident. Just remembering Noah's thin smile already made his heart so happy.

Moments later Evelyn moved out of her sleep when she recalled something. He reached into the bag he had previously placed on the nightstand, picking up the envelope that Noah's mother had given him. The letter that Shahira left to Noah's mother before she died. Syahira believes Evelyn will return because she wrote the letter.

Evelyn stared softly at the envelope that was in her grasp, Evelyn did not understand how important she was to Syahira until the end of her age the woman still remembered herself even as if she was not willing to leave without leaving her last message. Evelyn was suddenly wracked with guilt when she had just left without seeing the good woman first.

"Sister, I'm sorry. If I had known it was the day of our last meeting, I would definitely not have left without saying goodbye to brother. Calm down in heaven, brother, I love you."

Evelyn steeled her heart to open the letter. The shadow of Syahira's face was so clearly remembered.

"Ah why did Sishira have to leave so soon. You should be happy to have a complete family. You should have spent more time with a beautiful daughter and an amazingly good husband."
