Evelyn's Regret

Twenty Eight

Evelyn grabs her phone which reads, Aira's name appears on the screen.

"Hallo Ra" Evelyn said after sighing to normalize her voice. She didn't want Aira to know that she was crying.

"I'm in your town now Ve. Send your address yes"

"really? who are you, Ra?" Evelyn got up from her sleeping position in shock that Aira had come to see her

"It's really a lie time. I'm here with Darrel Ve"

"I got Noah's permission first huh. I'm at her house right now" Evelyn said, distancing her phone from her ear when she heard Aira's scream. The girl must have been shocked to discover that Evelyn had met a man in her past.

"You're at Noah's? how can?"

"Later to tell." Evelyn did not wait for Aira's answer. He immediately disconnected the phone.

Evelyn sighed and threw it away, preparing to say goodbye to Shahira and Noah to go see her friends. After that he will go straight home and no need to go back to this house. He has no right or reason to be in this house.

After successfully controlling herself Evelyn got out of bed and walked out. Luckily she found Shahira and Noah relaxing in the TV room so Evelyn did not bother looking.

Ah a sweet but painful sight, Shahira curled up in Noah's arms gently rubbing the woman's distended stomach. Both are enjoying the television show.

Evelyn wants to undo her intention to meet Noah and Shahira, she does not want to disturb the leisure time of the couple but unfortunately Noah has already looked at her.

"Sorry to disturb" Evelyn said awkwardly.

"What's Eve?" Shahira moved from Noah's arms and turned her body to Evelyn, who was walking closer.

"My friends came here. I want to see them all I want to go home. Thank you for being so kind as to hold me here" Evelyn said with a forced smile. Noah stared at Evelyn but Noah's expression was so flat that Evelyn could not read what the man was thinking at the moment

"I don't agree you're coming home Eve, you lost your mother just yesterday. Your condition is not stable, please stay here until your feelings are better. I will be very worried about you if you are alone there" said Syahira with a sad face. Again he did not understand why he had to care this much for Eve.

The sincerity that radiated in the eyes of Syahira made Evelyn feel worried.

"Take your friends here Eve is okay. We won't bother you if you need privacy. But please don't let me not calm down with you out of this house" Evelyn didn't understand Syahira's thoughts. If other women will be very anti on the ex-lover of her own husband but this woman instead accommodates him in their home. Even impressed to want to get closer to Noah.

"Lately Syahira likes to worry excessively which can cause adverse effects to the content. Maybe the pregnancy hormones make her more sensitive. If you don't mind can you fulfill his wish? But don't push yourself if you're uncomfortable I'll try to give Syahira some understanding" It seems Noah feels bad for his wife's attitude. He could understand the awkwardness Evelyn felt.

Evelyn nodded her head. I do not know he felt powerless to refuse the request of Shahira even though it was very contrary to his heart.

"There's no need to ask permission for that Eve, consider it your own home." Say shahira with a genuine smile.

Darrel and Noah looked at each other, but no one spoke.

"Enjoy your togetherness yes, we go to the room first. If you need anything just call mebak Ria ya Ve" Syahira break the awkwardness created.

"Yes, thank you" replied Eve who was replied with a nod of the head by Syahira.

"Well, what can I do later to talk to you Noah for a second?" No one expected Darrel to say that, no exception Noah who stared in wonder at Darrel.

"I accompanied Syahira first, later I will meet you" replied Noah finally.

"Do you want to talk to her about Rel?" Eve asked with a worried face when Noah and Shahira were no longer seen between them

"Secret dong" Darrel smiled ignorantly answered by Evelyn.

"You yourself why is it here Ve?" Ask Aira. Evelyn stared at Aira, though her weight finally began to string together the story of how she was able to be in this house. Telling her like slashing back the wound that is still wet in her heart, she must return to remember the dark story when losing her beloved mother.

"I'm sorry I wasn't on your side Ve, sorry I just got here today. Yesterday I had a job out of town. I just found out this news this morning" Darrel looked pityfully at Evelyn who was sobbing in Aira's arms.

"Yes sorry we are Ve" Aira rubbed Eve's back, trying to calm the girl down. They could feel the pain of Eve's heart.

"You're not alone Ve. There's me and Aira. We will always be there for you. Don't be sad, I'm sure your mom and dad are happy. They're the good guys Eve" Darrel moved to sit next to Evelyn. He rubbed Evelyn's hair gently, still crying. This is why Eve wants to be alone, not ready to retell the events she experienced, telling stories means she must return to remember every detail of heartbreaking events. But he could not refuse the arrival of Aira and Darrel who were willing to take the time to meet him.

"They believe you can rise up and live your life without them. They're sure you're the strong girl Eve loves" whispered Darrel again. Seeing Eve cry made her heart slit. He could not bear to see the mist of sorrow on his friend's face. Eve hugged Darrel.

"Thank you guys always there for me, still want to be friends with me" Eve said on the sidelines. Eve feels lucky that Darrel and Aira did not leave her. They are still willing to be a backstop for him.

"We both love you Ve, will continue like that until anytime" whispered Aira.

Aira and Darrel continued to take turns to calm Evelyn down, they did not realize since 5 minutes ago Noah witnessed how they strengthened each other.

Noah smiled faintly, there was relief infiltrating his chest. Evelyn was not wrong to prefer them over her old self.
