Engelskraft: Love of Wasted Angels

Engelskraft: Love of Wasted Angels
The Struggle of an Angel

Ailey sat opposite Milo on a prayer park bench in the hospital. Wearing a brown sweater, Ailey tried to withstand the cold wind that blew that night. Milo with his short-sleeved shirt did not feel bothered at all with the cold. Maybe because he's an angel so unaffected by the things of the world.

“What's calling me here? You okay?” Ask Milo worriedly.

Ailey bit her lips as if she wanted to say something but was held back by ego. Even his eyes could not see the angel.

“Tell me, what's up?” Milo asked back.

Ailey remained silent. It seems he was waiting to make his point.

“Don't shut up! You even make me worry more.” Force Milo.

“Milo... I want to ask for your help.” Ailey said because she felt stuck.

The angel looked at him without flinching. It seemed that he could already guess the sentence that would come out next from Ailey's mouth. He looked at the woman with compassion.

“Please save Kevin's father!” Connect Ailey with tears.

“I've expected.”

“Please! With the power of angels you have, surely you can resuscitate it.” Ailey is desperate.

“Why do you want to help him? Didn't that guy not approve of your relationship with Kevin?” Refute Milo.

Ailey was silent for a moment. Tears kept flowing down her cheeks. His face was reddened by the sadness mixed with the cold air that night.

“I can't see Kevin blaming himself for his father's condition. If indeed I had to retreat for the sake of the blood relationship between the two of them, I would. I don't want Kevin to suffer.”

The sincerity of the woman's heart emanated from every wink of tears that trickled down. As touched by the deep pain, Milo raised his head to hold himself back in tears.

“Milo, I know maybe you're still pissed at me because I've been tight on you lately. I promise I won't remember your past and what you did to me. But I beg you, help me just this one time.” Ailey continued to plead.

“You really fell in love with Kevin, yes until you willingly set aside your ego to ask for my help.” Said the angel.

“Milo..”.

“But I am sorry, this time I cannot help you. Ask my Lord for help, He who has authority over the life and death of a person.” The answer.

The sound of crickets fills the silence of the night. As if there was nothing to argue about anymore, the two of them only looked at each other.

“Ailey..” Milo held back for a while. While fixing his sitting position, he continued, “Will you still forgive me if I can't help you?” Milo asked worriedly.

Suddenly Ailey cried sobbing. The question penetrated Ailey's heart. He realized how evil he was, he pawned an apology with a favor. Disappointment filled the deepest recesses of his heart.

“It's only natural that a human being can feel hatred. But a repentant angel like me is not allowed to harbor hatred. No matter how you look at me, I will still be your guardian angel. I won't be angry if you still can't forgive me.” Milo was wise.

“Don't cry anymore! Save your strength to pray to what you call God. In addition, you also have to keep Kevin who is at his lowest point. You need energy to do all of that. So, save your tears. Don't you want to show a lot of people how strong you are?” Reply Milo cheering.

“Thank you. I'm really grateful.” Ailey wiped away the tears that ran down her cheeks.

The two of them did not continue the conversation anymore. Both of them are silent facing each other trying to understand the situation that happened.

The sound of owls filled the forest. The rustling of unpretentious foliage was swept away by the tightness of the wind. The villa that became the headquarters of Milo and Mario is still brightly visible in the dark night sky.

Milo prostrated himself in a magnificent room and placed his elbow on a white pillow. His dull wings were dangling limp on his back. His head fell down until he touched both of his clenched hands. Silent and lonely.

Mario stood guard at the door of the room as if waiting for Milo to get out of there. But it doesn't seem to be happening soon. The angel prayed with me and did not want to be disturbed.

“Master, I've heard your voice. Is this what you want? Is this the heaviest punishment I have to take to get back to You?” Milo muttered in a soft voice.

Body shaking. There was an overwhelming fear running through his entire body. The tears that he held all day were finally unstoppable and flowed out to wet the pillow that became the seat of his elbow. His head was so low that he buried his face on the pillow.

A loud cry sounded outside the room. Mario turned his head for a moment, intending to open the door. Anxiety covers it. However, he paused his intention to go inside. He knew that his fellow angels were talking four-eyes with the Master. He had to put limits on it because it was not the right time to interfere with Milo's grief.

The day was getting late, Milo sat on the sofa with a troubled feeling. It was a clear look on the face that was thinking something.

“So, I think you've got the answer.” Mario sat next to him.

“Iya. Master has given me enlightenment.” Milo replied with a sigh.

“Lantas what will you do? As an obedient angel, of course you must obey His commands, right?” Connect Mario.

Milo hesitated. He swallowed his saliva out of fear of something.

“Milo, you know ‘kan that our existence in the world is only to serve the Master, not others. So whatever it is His answer, trust me it will surely bring good to you.” Bright Mario.

“I understand. After all, this is the last punishment I have to live with. I won't let Him down again no matter what the bet is.” Milo.

Mario patted Milo gently on the shoulder and rubbed it to give him some relief. When his hand collided with Milo's shoulder, he could really feel the fear experienced by his partner.

“I titip Ailey, yes.” Milo said resignedly as he looked at his friend with tears.

Mario nodded and threw a gentle smile as if to signal that there was nothing to worry about anymore. He accompanied his companion and stayed up until morning. The faint moonlight looked as if it was hidden by a cloud of pain. The night beasts suddenly did not show their voices and gave complete silence in the forest as if to celebrate the immortality felt by the angel. But, what exactly is an angel like Milo afraid of? Is there anything else he hasn't revealed?
