Engelskraft: Love of Wasted Angels

Engelskraft: Love of Wasted Angels
Arogan's boss

Ailey woke up early. He was so excited that he got a call last night from Abram to attend an interview at his office. Dressed in a neat shirt and subordinate kulot, Ailey entered the minimalist-designed interview room.

A woman was sitting inside waiting for Ailey's arrival. The woman's face was very familiar but Ailey had not been able to recognize her.

“Good morning.” Ailey's greeting to a woman who's been waiting for her inside.

“No need to talk. Sit!” Welcome the lady.

Ailey immediately sat down to hear the uncomfortable command. While looking at the familiar woman's face, Ailey recalled whether she had known him somewhere or not.

“You don't remember me? I'm Lina Marliani, head of operations at this company. We met when you delivered your CV in the lobby. It seems that your appearance today improved compared to that time.” Evidently.

At once, Ailey immediately recalled being disrespectfully belittled in Abram's lobby. It was only fitting that besides his face, his tone felt very familiar. It turned out that she was the woman at the time.

“It seems you are surprised why you were invited to interview today.” Connect Lina.

Ailey didn't respond. He just kept quiet while hiding his regret for not accepting Lina's treatment of him. If from the beginning Lina didn't like it, why was Ailey still called for an interview?

“I'm in need of an employee at one of our electronic retail branches to work today. It is very difficult to find employees who can work this second also because they usually have a notice period for a month. But you're unemployed, ‘kan? I don't think you can turn down this opportunity.” Said haughty.

“Sorry, I turned it down if you interviewed me just because of forced.” Ailey replied annoyed at feeling her pride being stepped on.

“How arrogant are you. What if I offer this salary?” Continue Lina while thrusting a bidding paper on the table.

Ailey grabs the paper and sees a considerable value listed there. He did not expect his offer to be above what he expected.

“Why? Still less? So greedy.” Lina.

Anger ran through Ailey's body. Never had he felt such humiliation. However, the salary offered is more than enough. This may be the only chance to work for Abram.

“Ok! I agree! Which branch will I be placed in?” Ailey agreed.

“Hmm... You poor people! Once you see a large salary number you can immediately buy.” Connect Lina. “The shop you work at is in Abram City Mall, not far from here. Please sign this employment contract letter first and after that hurry there.”

Ailey can only swallow the humiliation she gets for the sake of getting a job and proud of her father. Even as if he had been bought by the brash woman, he was determined to prove that he was worthy to be employed in Abram.

”It looks like you have to gain weight, this uniform looks loose worn by you.” Siti, one of Abram Electronics' officials at Abram City Mall, said.

“Hehehe, yes I will eat a lot today. Count-up as a celebration I got work.” Reply Ailey who is looking at her new look in the changing room mirror with satisfaction and pride.

“Remember, you must greet every visitor who comes in kindly! If there's a product you don't understand yet, you can call me. But tomorrow you must already understand all the products we sell, yes. I'll just help you today.” Obviously Siti.

“Ready, Siti! Thank you very much. I promise I won't trouble you.” Ailey said excitedly.

Ailey nodded enthusiastically. He did not expect to be able to work in a large company like Abram. Moreover, the branch where he served is the largest mall in Indonesia which is also owned by Abram. If his father found out about this good news, he would be very proud of Ailey.

“This working hour is not the time to gossip!” Scold a man behind them.

“Ah, sorry we will be back to work!” Siti said shocked.

“Who is this woman?” Asked arrogantly.

“He's our new employee, sir! Bu Lina put it here.”

Ailey who was confused by Siti's polite demeanor then whispered, “Who is she?”

“He's Mr. Kevin, CEO Abram.” Answer Siti nervously.

Ailey was shocked to hear her co-worker's answer. He swiftly bowed as a sign of respect.

“Good morning, Sir! I'm Ailey.” Clearly embarrassed.

The man looked at Ailey intently as if he had seen her somewhere. “Your face looks familiar. Uh! The woman sitting on the sidewalk!” The man cried out in surprise.

Ailey straightened her body again and watched the man closely. He tried to revive his memory. The man's face looked familiar. After a few seconds, Ailey finally remembered who it was.

“You're that brash sports car driver?” Ailey flabbergasted.

Siti nudged Ailey's arm giving a signal to keep her talking. Ailey reflexively covered her mouth with her hand. So quickly he forgot that the man in front of him was a CEO. He wished in his heart that his first day of work would not be his last.

“Bragging you to say? Dare too. Let's see how long you can stay in Abram.” Kevin said in an annoyed voice.

The young CEO turned his back and left the two of them still standing. His street style looks arrogant. With his feet, he stepped wide and full of confidence. All employees who cross paths with him automatically bow to pay their respects to the highest boss in Abram who turned out to be a shitty man at that time. What an unpleasant coincidence, Ailey thought.

“I told you he's the CEO, why did you curse him?” Siti Protest.

“If I know he's CEO here, I wouldn't sign a job contract either.” Answer Ailey.

“For a while, it seems like you already know him, yes. Did something happen between you guys?” Ask Siti curious.

“Do not ngaco! I only met him once. He is a brash cocky man.” Rigorously.

“I don't understand what happened, but you should be grateful that he didn't fire you on the first day of work.” Siti Timpal.

Ailey can only stroke the chest. Perhaps this was the sacrifice he had to receive in order to work at Abram. The first day had already faced two annoying bosses. But what power, he needs this job. At least, he still has Siti, a co-worker who seems quite supportive.
