Engelskraft: Love of Wasted Angels

Engelskraft: Love of Wasted Angels
Painful Request

Kevin pensively pensively himself in his room while staring at the glowing morning sun from behind the window. The phone that showed Ailey's contact was in her grasp. He was considering calling his girlfriend. However, he abandoned his intentions for fear of complicating things.

Mother entered Kevin's room slowly while carrying warm tea. He put it on the desk next to the man. She was clearly worried about her son's condition.

“Have you locked yourself in your room for hours. At least come out for a minute to say hello to your father.” Said mother.

“Not that I don't want to. I'm just afraid my emotions are sticking out if I see it.” Said Kevin.

“Do not like that to your own father! You don't pity him?” Said mom while sitting on the edge of the bed.

“Then do you not feel sorry for me?”

The mother was stunned to hear the question of her son. He knew Kevin was not okay.

“Bu, from childhood I always try to be the best for you. All I do to make you proud, including continuing Abram's business. Just this once, I want to do something for myself.” Said Kevin.

“Soal Ailey?”

Kevin nodded and looked at his mother. Resplendent determination in both of his eyes. Then Kevin clasped his hands together and knelt in front of him.

“Mother is a person I respect a lot. As a woman who gave birth to me, I ask for your blessing first. I really love Ailey, Bu.” Obviously Kevin.

Seeing the firm stand of her child, the mother's feelings began to melt. He felt a strong but warm grip from the hand of his only child. As a mother who has been raising her child for so long, how could she be able to heed Kevin's request.

“I know Mom's not like dad. If I get your blessing, at least I have more power to be able to face dad and convince him.”

“You sure of how you feel?” Ask the mother.

“I'm sure. As long as mom supports me, there's nothing I can't get through.” Kevin reassured.

“But what about your father? Life he lives a few months left.”

“I know mom's anxiety. I promise, I'll slowly reassure dad and not worsen his condition. I promise.”

The mother shed tears. With great tenderness, he held his son. Warm, a hug that shows how genuine a mother's affection for her child is.

“Pursue what is your dream. If Ailey's the best for you, what can I do. Happy your father in your own way.” He said as he stroked his son's hair.

“Thank you, Mother.” Kevin said as he returned his mother's embrace with a happy feeling.

***

Ailey was seen groggy inside one of the restaurants in Abram City Mall. He sat in one corner of the room in an agitated manner as if he was waiting for something that never came. He looked around for an old man who took him to lunch.

From a distance, Kevin's father walked slowly into the restaurant. He wears a simple polo shirt with material pants and flip-flops. His appearance did not show himself to be a wealthy man at all. With a gentle smile, she walked over to Ailey who was sitting alone.

“Sorry, long wait. This time my replacement is late, yes.” Kevin's dad said it wasn't good.

“It's okay, om. I haven't been waiting here long, kok.” Ailey's reply was polite.

“Wah, you are so good. I'll order warm tea.” Ailey said.

“Not to be shy. Here the chicken pepper-rican delicious, you know.” Said convincing.

“Eh, uh. Hehe.”

After making several menu choices, the father of CEO Abram called the waiter and ordered the best menus there. It seemed that the restaurant had already become a subscription because the waiter looked familiar to the old man.

“How was your relationship with Kevin?” Ask dad without further ado.

“Ah, that.. It seems Kevin is busy lately so we rarely meet.” Answer Ailey.

Kevin's father looked up at the woman's face as he answered her question. His eyes did not dare to look at the CEO's father, Ailey just lowered her head slightly.

“Om believe you are a good woman. But you also have to understand Kevin's current position.”

“Means om?”

“Look, as you said, Kevin is busy taking care of the company. In the end you will suffer because it will not be his priority. Are you sure you want to have a relationship like that?” Further.

“I... Actually what do om want to say?” Ailey asked curiously as she felt there was hidden intent from Kevin's father.

Kevin's father sighed for a moment. He understood that there should be no need to talk to the woman.

“Connect with Kevin.”

Ailey gasped at the statement from her father's mouth. Without asking for his opinion first, it sounded more like an order. Finally, Ailey dared to collide with her raucous male father.

“I'm fine with Kevin's busyness. I'm old enough to understand.” Bela Ailey to herself.

“Young people today have never thought long term. What if one day you can't tolerate the rush anymore. In the end, you two will suffer.” Evidently.

“But om..”

“After that, Kevin should focus on Abram. It's an indisputable thing and you have to understand. If you truly love him, let him live his life and fly even higher. Don't just because of your relationship, her legs are restrained and can't move forward!” Obviously without letting Ailey talk.

Ailey did not respond, but the waiter came and served food ordered by Kevin's father. The silence of the atmosphere made the sound of the clanking of dishes and cutlery laid out clearly audible. The silence went to Ailey's heart. He still couldn't believe a second meeting with Kevin's father would end like this.

“Please eat the food first.” Said the father.

Ailey just sat petrified without moving her hands to touch the food. The meal call sounded like an activity bribing him to agree to the old man's request. His feelings were mixed, how could he eat the food before him with a troubled heart? The obstinacy that enveloped him made him think of Milo. Milo was the only person he could go to to share his story with.

“Om, thank you for the dish. I just remembered if I had an appointment. I say goodbye first, yes.”

As soon as he said so, Ailey left the dining table. At that time, he only realized the reason Kevin away from himself suddenly. Not without reason Kevin behaved like that. Clearly, the difference in status is quite high into the gap between the two people.

Kevin's father could only watch him leave in a hurry as if he wanted to dodge other questions. Without feeling guilty, the old man continued his lunch quietly. Even though he knew he would not be able to finish the many dishes he had served at the table, he still tried to enjoy the food he had ordered.
