The Jealous Boss

The entire marketing and operations team has gathered in the meeting room, including Kevin the CEO. Ailey who is the only SPG in the room looks nervous. Previously, Siti was with him during a collaboration campaign meeting with Engelskraft so that Ailey was not too stressed at the time. Surely this meeting made Ailey quite intimidated.

Lina and Silvia were sitting next to each other in front of Ailey, who turned her back to a large window that showcased the skyscrapers and grandeur of Jakarta's CBD. The two of them seemed to be fighting without seeing each other. Kevin sits at the very back facing directly forward to make it easier to see the white board and presentation screen. The atmosphere at that time felt colder and stiffer than the previous meeting.

“Ailey, I heard you came up with the idea of a collaboration with Engelskraft?” Said Lina starting the meeting without further ado.

“Iya, Mum.” Ailey replied with a nod.

“How do you feel after the campaign without bringing a significant increase in sales?” Lina continued to corner.

Ailey was quite surprised by the cynical question. He never asked for his idea to run, after all the planning was not made from Ailey's mind.

“If the initial idea is not from him, of course the strategy we make will be much different.” Lina said she would not give up.

Lina's face looked sour at Kevin's words as if defending Ailey. Every now and then Lina steals a look at Kevin and finds him looking at Ailey with pity.

Ailey's hands are sweating. While gulping, Ailey gathered all her courage to speak.

“Begin, I think, the campaign we did was pretty good. But because it does not target potential buyers, the results can be less than satisfactory. If we can do digital marketing by setting target buyers based on demographics and behavior, it could be our campaign more successful.”

Silvia and Lina gawked at Ailey's reply. They both looked closely at Kevin sitting in the back corner. Kevin returned their gazes by shrugging both of his shoulders and raising both of his eyebrows.

“Ailey, where do you know about digital marketing?” Silvia asked curiously.

“Ma..sorry, I know, yes? I only know a little from observation while still working in the company before.” Ailey said.

“Don't overdo it, Silvia! Everyone also knows digital marketing if it is limited to its exposure.” Lina said she didn't like it.

“Stay, for an SPG class like him, it feels impossible,” continued Silvia. “Begini, actually we also want to do digital marketing for Abram Electronics from the first. But because of the performance that always decreases and the future is bleak, then we eliminate the digital marketing budget to cut spending.”

“Ok! Then we put the digital marketing budget back into your planning.” Kevin is enthusiastic. “We also use famous influencers to help promote this campaign.” Reciprocity.

“Sa..I also agree. We can also use their content for us to upload on social media and we promote it through digital marketing.” Add Ailey while looking at Kevin.

Kevin smiled at Ailey who was starting to show her confidence in expressing her opinion. Thoroughly, Kevin was satisfied with the discussion that was conducted at the meeting. However, it seems that he paid more attention to Ailey than the others. The charisma shown by Ailey captivated the young CEO.

“I will talk back with Milo to extend Abram's collaboration with Engelskraft. I leave the execution of today's meeting to you, Silvia. Lina, please prepare all Abram Electronics store employees for the next campaign. This time, I want to apply it to all Abram Electronics branches in Indonesia, not just in Abram City.” Mall

Sighing deeply, Kevin focused his gaze on Ailey, “Thank you for your opinion. Good job!”

Everyone in the room was astonished to see the unusual attitude of his boss, Lina was no exception. He looks very upset by the treatment Ailey received from Kevin. Especially if you see Ailey's face that can't hide her red hue that blushes in shame due to the rare hospitality of her own CEO.

It was a great day for Ailey. He came out of the Abram Corporation building with a satisfied heart because he managed to gain the trust of Kevin and Silvia to listen to his opinion. Although she has not yet gained the heart of her direct superior, Lina, Ailey increasingly believes that she can last longer in the company.

Not even a second away from the building lobby, Ailey's hand was pulled roughly from someone behind her. How shocked Ailey was when she saw Lina who turned out to pull her hand.

“Eh, what do you mean by looking at Kevin like that at the meeting?” Ask Lina with emotion.

“I don't understand what I mean.” Answer Ailey's scared.

“You don't lie, yes! I know you tried to tease Kevin, yes ‘kan?”

“There's no way I would do something like that, ma'am. Who am I.” Bright Ailey.

“Good if you understand who you are. Because if you dare to mess around, I can immediately fire you from this job.” Threaten Lina.

Lina's breathing sounds excited because of the emotions she can't hold back. Both of his eyes were fixed on the shop employee. His hand grip is getting stronger as if he wants to give a warning sign not to disturb his prospective fiancee.

“I hold your greeting. If I see you flirting with my future fiance, I will not hesitate to throw you into the streets.” Lina said as she threw out Ailey's hand she held.

Without apologizing, Lina immediately left Ailey, who was astonished in front of the lobby of Abram building. Ailey's heart rate felt faster than usual. He never expected this kind of relationship with his own boss. Consciously, Ailey understood that Lina would never accept herself as her subordinate sincerely. Even if Lina misunderstands about him, Ailey intends not to get too close to the CEO. He did not want to get involved further into corporate politics that could have brought down his career.
