"With someone special woman it seems." I guessed for myself and thought about who he was talking about.
He didn't answer. All right, let's say yes. I was thinking, if he's some kind of government-protected agent, I don't know what kind of agent, even Thomas says he doesn't know because he's actually working in the private sector like me, what his lover looks like.
"You got a boyfriend now Louis?"
"No."
"Why?" He saw me and went back to the road.
"Prefer to be alone." The answer is short. Makes me even more curious.
"Where is the woman who walks with you here." He's laughing a little.
"Why do you think it's a woman."
"Because there's no way a man can cause memories so far."
"Hmmm..." He just muttered and smiled. It seemed to prefer turning nostalgia in his head.
"How did you meet."
"job."
"Ohhhe's an office with you?"
"Not really, maybe ever a division. But not in the same office."
"Then why aren't you with him now. You remember it so much."
"Because we can't be together."
"It seems like a sad story." He sighed, but then he saw me.
"You got security here? Or just with your assistant?"
"Just be with the assistant, he can't be a security of course."
"You're still two days in Tokyo, aren't you?"
"Yes." Yeah."
"You have to be careful, a guy like Mark can do anything. If you've got back-up security, you better call them." Mark Ivanir will soon face his own problems. He'd rather worry about himself than take care of me. He didn't have time after he arrived in London.
I tried to find another conversation while taking a walk later, but my mind was still looking for the reason why he was being nice, what he wanted.
"You're so good to me. Thank ye. I'll be careful. Why are you so kind to me, Louis?" I walked forward and smiled sweetly at him. This time he returned my smile.
"I am kind." Again he just answered me in a normal tone as if there was nothing, trying to seduce me. Wh why? The question kept spinning in my head. I looked at him and deliberately stopped in front of him so he had to stop.
"Do you like me?" Now he laughed, what was he laughing at.
"No."
"So you're working all sorts of things, taking me by the road and reminding me like this, you don't like me at all?" I took one step forward in front of him and looked into his eyes.
"No."
"You don't like me."
"Likes what you mean, all men love beautiful women, but if you ask me if I'm now asking you out, I don't answer."
"Then. What do you want?"
"Nothing."
"Are we going to meet again after this."
"Most likely not. But in the future be careful. Don't get into trouble, what your life lacks so you're happy to find trouble. When are you gonna stop looking for trouble." This time he tidied my wind-blown hair, slipped it back as if he saw someone familiar with it and for a moment it stopped for me. Why is he behaving so. He doesn't want anything?
"Finding trouble is cool." I said my involvement in MI6, it changed everything. Making a lot of different things, taking me to an unreachable and sometimes safe level, when I'm down, that feeling boasted. It's like I have two lives.
He breathed to hear my answer. Does he know I'm an agent like him too? Then why doesn't he trouble me. Or ask me what I did when I approached him last year.
"There will come a time when it won't be cool anymore."
"Why do you show up in front of me if you don't want anything."
"Just curious." He remained in his mysterious attitude. Then smile at me, "Here you go, let's go for a walk again." He rolled my shoulders and made me walk forward.
"You're hard."
"Thank you for your compliment. You're already hungry. We can walk out and find food."
And we ended up at a ramen restaurant nearby later.
"This motherfucker really needs to get beat up." I immediately saw it in wonder. He just received a message on his phone.
"Who needs to be beaten?"
"Mark your fan, he told people to follow us."
"You want what he is? How do you know that? You got security around here?"
"Yes. I'll ask him what he wants." Now he's picking up his phone.
"How many Tom guys are following us?"
"One person only? Catch him and ask his boss what room he's staying in? Japanese or British?"
"That follows you Caucasians."
"It's good to catch him. Then threaten the boss until he asks for mercy." Louis gave the order to his man while I typed a message to Thomas telling me what I was going through right now.
'If he wants to beat him up it's good, after he's in London I'll move to arrest him with the indictment file complete. Just let Louis do it. Arriving in London he won't be able to bother you anymore.'
"Is it okay for you. It's because of me."
"It's not a big deal, my guy can solve it. He won't dare to bother you anymore."
"Thank you Louis."
"Back." He only answered briefly without even seeing me. I wonder why he's behaving so well now.
"If I go to NY, can we meet again." He smiled at me.
"I think it's better not to. I'm a tough guy. What can you get anyway?" I'm shackled by the chin to see it. Whether he plays pull with me, why does it feel like I'm interested in what's on his mind.
"I'm a tough guy too." I smiled back and made him fold his hands in front of his chest. He averted his eyes, unwilling to oppose my eyes.
"I'll take you home."
"You drove me home, so mean."
"So what do you want, stay with me." He raised an eyebrow at me.
"Yes." Yeah." My answer made him laugh. Louis is cruel. He had no problem rejecting me.
"Come on. I'll take you home. It's late afternoon, don't you have a show. I'll take care of that Mark. You don't have to worry. He won't dare to bother you anymore."
He left the restaurant, like we didn't have any problems today. Once again his gaze swept over the yellowing trees at the end there.
"If that time can be repeated, maybe we can correct our mistakes." Suddenly he said to me when long time was silent.
"What mistake?" I saw his sad look. But again, he shared nothing with me.
"If you need help in Tokyo just let me know. I have a reliable friend here..."
"Yes. Thank you." Thank you."
"No need to move rooms or move hotels, Mark won't dare bother you anymore."
"You been here long?"
"Not mid-week next week I'll be back. I didn't drive inside, just got in front of the lobby okay, thanks for walking with me. Adios. Take care of yourself."
"Take yourself too." I smiled and passed from in front of him.
Next week I'm going to NY, I'll see him again. I don't know why this time I was the one who was curious.
