SEASON 2 Part 42. New Year in Dallas.

Christmas and New Year in Dallas, the city is quite cold in December, between 4-15°C. I arrived in the 9th largest city in America with Oliver's hand tightly held. The 17-hour flight was exhausting. Not to mention we have to deal with the difference in the time of the western and eastern hemispheres which is different 13 hours.

"Is your house close?" We arrived at Forth Worth-Dallas International Airport.

"It's only 20 minutes from this airport, you want to get around downtown Dallas first. It's still afternoon. My house is actually close to my corporate headquarters downtown. We can roll into town for a second if you want."

"No, I'm running out of energy, could it be tomorrow? It's really exhausting. " This 17-hour direct flight is exhausting. It was still 3pm when we arrived, which means in Hong Kong it is now 4am the next day.

Headquarters Building AECOM Dallas. (of which there is a green line). AECOM is really there yes, one of the companies that belong to the top 500. In Indonesia there is also an AECOM office, one example of the project in Indonesia is Garuda Wisnu Kencana, or if in Southeast Asia Santosa Resort Malaysia, Marina Bay in Singapore, it is all AECOM project.

"I only go home once a year, and sometimes we meet in a closer town."

His family home is not far from downtown Dallas in Northwest Dallas, Dorset. His brother and sister who are married will also join this time.

"You're finally there." Oliver hugged her, definitely his mother. While I wait for them to let go of their miss.

"And you must be Sandra... Nice to meet you, baby." She smiled at me and hugged me warmly.

"Auntie, I'm happy to see you too." He was friendly, full of smiles.

"Finally after almost 9 years he brought someone here. Come, you must be very tired with your long journey, Aunt introduced you to others, you can rest first, long journey must drain energy, your room is ready. Dinner's at 7:30 Oliver." I went into the homey house, the pictures of the children and grandchildren were seen all around the room, they were happy parents.

"Both of you, if you've decided to be together, get married and become a family. What are you waiting for again..." His mother talked to both of us while we were with him at home while the other family took their children for a walk.

"We enjoyed our time with Mom, no need to rush. Sandra is establishing her new business now, we've both supported each other. I brought her here to meet you, and to allay your worries and your scolding told me to find a future wife." She held my hand in front of her Mother, Her mother supported her son's choice without much comment.

"Sandra, I won nagging her. Why did he spend his own life while his ex-wife was remarried. But thankfully there are you. By the way how did you melt her heart?" How do I melt his heart? I can't answer that. I think he should melt my heart. I looked at Oliver with a bang.

"By kicking me into the pool." Oliver answered his own mother. And his mother gawked with her answer and I laughed.

"I never let go Auntie, she's the one who woke up chasing me. I didn't like it, and hated it at our first meeting."

"Ohh yeah, really, come here Sandra, have a chat with me. Let's talk to me about what he's doing until you kick him." This is bad, how can I tell his mother his magical behavior.

"What's wrong. Take it easy there is Brother Shim here if I need help. Mama seems to want to take Aunt shopping in Hong Kong for the new year about a week. So I'll be with them too. But I'm gonna miss you." Clinging in his arms was indeed happy.

"I will miss you too, I try not too long, maybe I can save the schedule a few days if it's smooth."

"Well, the restaurant will open soon after the new year. Can't wait to get started. I hope their interiors are all on schedule. I'll keep an eye on them now, while Brother Shim makes sure everyone working there will be ready for the opening. May the business run smoothly, though I still have to face Shanghai tomorrow, facing my sister's cynical look at my own home as all the families gather.
