“You feel beautiful?” yelled Imam, quipped Manira.
Manira was surprised to hear the Imam's shouting mocking him.
“You feel great so feel entitled to play with the hearts of parents?” continued the Imam who continued to corner Manira.
He did not want to know about the love and loyalty that Manira always hummed all this time. In her eyes, Manira is a haughty and selfish woman who attaches importance to her own feelings and takes no care of others. Even his parents had to cry blood still can not change the stance of Manira who decided not to marry on the grounds that his true love is only his lover and he will continue to be loyal to his feelings silly though maybe her boyfriend has forgotten her.
The whole village knew that my mother and brother were very old. They understand that your only desire is to see Manira marry someone who leads a normal household life just like everyone else. But there seems to be no more disobedient child than Manira because from the beginning until now Manira always attach importance to her own feelings in the name of love and ignore everyone.
Manira sad. Her tears always shed. Every day seemed like hell when everyone always cornered her with calls urging her to get married and cursing her stubbornness desperately defending her love.
The priest was just a little bit of an image of everyone in this village who always looked at Manira with such a gaze. Previously, throughout the day Manira always heard the jeers of the neighbors who said she was a spinster. Because when friends his age have continued their lives, married and have children, Manira still stag in the same place. Everyone condemns Manira as a disgrace to abah for having a daughter who is not ‘laku’. The rest consider Manira an ungodly child who has the heart to see his parents who are very old humiliated by his arrogant attitude that refuses to marry.
The threatened Imam's proposal was rejected today, not the first student that his brother and mother had to face. Previously there were about 8-9 applications that came to him and he immediately refused. Mom and I are so embarrassed. They are ashamed to have a daughter who is so arrogant that they reject every proposal that comes. Some consider Manira to be too picky. Manira has a high standard to find a prospective husband so that none of the young people of this village are worthy of him.
That's not what Manira wants. That's not what Manira really is. The only thing Manira wants is that she just wants to love her lover and not want to replace him with anyone. But no one can understand it. Problems are growing everywhere and more and more skewed assumptions about Manira. Manira was very sad because everyone looked down on her so much and always blamed her in every way.
