Ratmi. He recalled, a few years ago Juragan Damar, before becoming the rich man he is today, he was also just a porters pelvis in the fish market. He shouldered sacks of rice, sometimes also should carry fresh fish that had just been dropped from the boat to the fish market. At that time Juragan Damar tried to get close to Ratmi. He expressed his feelings and wanted to marry Ratmi. But Ratmi rejected him because he had already given his heart to Hasan.

At that time Ratmi still thought that love was everything. According to him, as long as he can be with someone he loves, then everything will be easy and beautiful. But time proves that love is not the only thing a person needs to live well. When the stomach is rumbling, when the clothes are worn, when insults are heard everywhere, that's when love weakens and logic begins to work well. One scream of Ratmi's heart declared that her life had to change. He had to do everything he could to get rich and not suffer anymore. That ambition then made him forget that a few years ago he had rejected Juragan Damar for his love. But now, his love was lost by his own greed.

But it's all in the past. Juragan Damar managed to get the heart of Sarifah, the daughter of the village head and a rich and influential fish master in this village. Thanks to that marriage, she could be the boss she is today. He can get as much wealth as he wants. But he has not forgotten his love. Now he wants to get both. Evidently, Juragan Damar managed to conquer Ratmi, his love. Even though the way he went was wrong. He had an illicit relationship with Ratmi. But he doesn't care. The important thing is that he can get his money and love at once. That is real life satisfaction.

The current Ratmi is also not the idealistic pretender Ratmi as before. He used to think that if not with love, he would not want to relate to any man. He had vowed that his love was only Hasan and just wanted to spend life with him. But it turns out that living in poverty is bitter and bitter. Not only difficult to eat but also have to get insulted here and there because there is too much debt. As it turns out, love is not something that can be seen as enough to be able to solve all problems and bring happiness. Ratmi needs something else: money.
