I walked down the school hallway to the library, which was a little far from my class. Some of the books I borrowed were due to be returned. I need to hurry before the entry hour starts.
The library is the least visited place by these school children, do not know why. There are only one or two people who will visit there at rest hours or at empty hours.
"Just, Debi!" sapa Bu Indah, the officer who guards the library. "Would you give me back the book?"
"Hehehe, Beautiful Mom remember, huh?"
"You come here every Monday and Friday. Usually Friday return books. How could you forget" he replied. Ms. Lovely went straight to check the books I returned. "You want to borrow another book?"
I looked at the wall clock, there was still fifteen minutes to look around. Rena has also returned to her class. "I'm looking around, huh, Mom?"
"Can, can!" Bu Indah.
I waltzed in and down the shelf under the title 'Chemistry'. Reference books related to chemistry neatly lined up untouched by dust. Looks like Bu Indah cleaned the shelves there diligently. The books here will be well-groomed if the one who takes care of it is the one who likes books too.
One of the yellow books caught my attention. I skimmed the contents on the front page to decide whether I needed to borrow or not.
"Hi, Debi!" the whispering voice surprised me. When he turned to the source of the voice, it turned out that Satya was standing there. "Read what?"
"Oh, this?" I showed Satya the book cover. "Gue again wants to minjem some books to learn."
"That's.. For the twelfth grade, right?"
I nodded. "Gue wanted to know how the twelfth grade lesson was."
Satya looked towards the bookshelf, then chose one of them. "That's too far for you. This book is!" he handed me a chemistry exercise book, and then put the yellow book back out of my hand.
"It's an easy practice?"
Satya rubbed her chin. "I think it's the same as your brain's working ability. But, if you love Rena, she certainly can't."
I laughed softly at Satya's opinion. "Rena is not too quick to learn. He always asks to be taught this."
"But great business problems?"
I nodded excitedly. "Satya's sister knows a lot about Rena, huh?"
"He likes stories." Satya researched several books on the physics shelf. "We talked a few times."
"Rena.. He rarely wants to be close to men."
"Without you explain, I also will not judge that your friend is bad. She is beautiful, popular, and loved by men. But that's no reason to judge him badly."
"Makasi, Sis..."
"Then..." Satya looked back at me. The look on his face turned serious, "..about lo and Gilang?"
Holy hooch! Why should I go to that topic? Usually we don't discuss personal matters like this as often as now. Whahuh? What should I say about my relationship with Gilang?
Okay, I gotta calm down! Don't be rash! I just have to make it clear that Gilang is my girlfriend. For other business, Gilang will take care of. He's good at drama.
"Why?" ask me, trying hard to make my voice sound calm.
"Lo's really dating her?"
I nodded. If I make a sound, my voice will shake. I can be caught lying.
I'm sculpting. No answer can come to my mind. I can't lie too much, because I don't know how much Rena told us to Satya. But, obviously, Satya will know that there is no secret between me and Rena.
"Is he maksa lo?"
I shook my head quickly. "Say it's not that kind of person, brother!" bela i'm.
"Then?"
"Why need an explanation?" I asked back.
Kening Satya wrinkled. It was obvious that he was not satisfied with the question that was returned to him. "Gue needs answers, Deb!" Satya insists.
"Why?"
The vow! There was nothing I could say as an answer that would satisfy Satya.
Satya went forward, her hand reaching for my shoulder. "Debi, are you seriously dating Gilang?"
"Yes," I myself was shocked to hear a firm tone coming out of my mouth. "Say declare love when we roast in his house."
"Then, you accept?"
"Yes, I accept." Suddenly an answer finally appeared. "There's no reason I rejected him. Missed a good man, considerate, though somewhat stone-headed, he remembered whatever I said. Say it's the type that gu-" my sentence was cut off. My face sank into Satya's chest which suddenly pulled me into her arms.
Very clearly heard... The sound of Satya's heartbeat speeding like a train. "Don't continue!" whispered. Shakes the sound that I can feel through his chest, making my hair bristling.
"Sister?" I tried to let go of his embrace. The warm feeling I felt, very different when Gilang hit me. With Satya, it feels weird. I also felt this discomfort when Satya accompanied me in the hospital the other day. His large, warm hands gave me a sensation I did not want to admit.
"Debis? Satya?" the voice of the Beautiful Bu broke the silence. Satya immediately pulled her body away. "Oh, you guys here? How's it? Have you found a book you want to borrow? The break is over."
"Have-been!" I step first. My knees are shaking. "I borrowed this book."
"Well, I wrote it first, huh?"
Satya walked awkwardly behind me. He didn't open any conversation, not even until we got out of the library.
Unfortunately, our classes are located in the same direction. We walked together in a tense atmosphere of silence. I dare not open my mouth. Satya did not open the conversation. We were both immersed in our thoughts.
"mmm... I'll go first, okay, brother?" I ventured to open my mouth when the door to my class was finally seen.
"On that matter-" Satya hurriedly replied before I ran away from her side, "-gue apologized."
"It's okay, brother."
"Next time, I want to hear what your real reason is until suddenly dating Gilang."
"Why is Big Brother so curious about my relationship with Gilang?" I became emotional. How far do I have to lie so Satya won't bring me up about this?
Satya fell silent. He looked back at me without hesitation. I intend to leave if he still does not answer, because I see there are some teachers who have gone to the classroom.
"Lo's not aware, Deb?" his voice sounded raucous.
I swallowed spit. I forced my brain to think quickly, lest Satya continue what she wanted to say. I have to act fast. "Sorry, brother, we will continue. My class is about to start." There was a sad look I saw on Satya's face when I left her alone standing there.
