75. Recognition

Valeda and Daniel were silent. Valeda tried to find a way out, but the results were nil. There was only a door that was certainly locked tightly and a window as high as the sky. They can't even stand to just move. Daniel's situation is very bad. With just a quick glance, Valeda knew that Daniel could barely maintain his consciousness.

"Val... Don't push yourself too hard" Daniel said. "I tried to find a way out, but it didn't work out."

"We have to think of another way" Valeda said.

Daniel smiled at the burning spirit of Valeda. At least, Daniel felt the rays of life from Valeda. Daniel was seriously injured by Rangga's wrath. It was a miracle he could still survive this long.

Krriieeeett...

The door of the barn opened slowly. Valeda and Daniel turned their heads in shock, not expecting Rangga to return so soon. However, they were even more shocked when the ones that emerged from behind the sturdy iron door were Celine and Kris.

Valeda's throat was blocked. Pleasure and fear mixed into one in his head. He wanted to jump in joy from seeing his two confidants, as well as wanting to shout ordering them to leave the place as quickly as possible.

Celine ran over to Valeda. Meanwhile, Kris closed the warehouse door again leaving a small gap enough for her to peek outside.

"What are you guys doing here?" that stupid question just slid out of Valeda's mouth.

Celine untied Valeda's hand with no time with scissors. "What do you think I'm here for?" Celine replied, upset by herself. As soon as he finished with Valeda, Celine moved on to Daniel. "You can hold on any minute, Dan?" tanyakanya.

"I hope so-ah! Be careful, my ribs are broken" Daniel asked.

Kris comes closer as soon as Celine finishes unbinding Daniel. "Come, hurry! We don't have much time!" kris said. He tried as quickly as possible to carry Daniel.

Daniel cringed in pain. He tightened his jaw to endure the pain that plagued his body. Valeda passed into the hands of the free Daniel and took him in his arms. "Daniel, hang on!" pinta Valedaf.

Kris and Valeda drag Daniel to the barn door. Celine walked in front of them without a sound. Celine's hand was already on the barn's doorknob, before suddenly the door opened itself. Everything froze in its place.

"Well, whoa, whoa!" Rangga. A terrifying smile was clearly visible on his face. He seemed to be emitting a black aura and was ready to lash at the person in front of him like a bull. "Look at this heartwarming reunion!"

Without orders, six Rangga men immediately came forward and paralyzed everyone in front of Rangga. Celine fell down with just a single hand. Valeda managed to deliver two meaningless blows to one of Rangga's bodyguards, but ended up falling as well. Kris put all his energy into a jotos fight with three other people. While another bodyguard beat Daniel who immediately fell down.

Without requiring much time, Valeda's side lost. They were bound by their hands and feet, then lined up like animals to be slaughtered.

"I was suspicious when I stepped outside the warehouse. My ware that the chosen ones guard until it burns, is not commonplace. It's true, you came to free Daniel and Valeda." Rangga pulled a chair and sat near his prey. "You guys are really ridiculous! Look at your current state," he said, then laughed out loud. "Celine, Kris, don't you want to side with me?"

"Of course not" answered Kris quickly.

Rangga got up and floated a kick to Kris' chin. Chris fell to the side. His eyes were twitching. A few seconds later, Kris sat down next to Daniel. Daniel was not long in a sitting position. He finally fell on his back with a breath. No sound came out of his mouth.

"You learn very slowly" said Rangga. He sat back with his legs crossed.

"If I follow you," Kris said, "will you not trap me as a fire suspect?"

Rangga was silent for a few seconds. "Fire?"

"It will be easy for you to find a scapegoat for the evil deeds you have done" replied Kris. "Seeing that you can do this to us, I can't imagine how many victims you've got on your hands."

"Haha! That's great money!" Rangga who sounded proud, made the feathers of Valeda bristled. He still could not believe that the person he had considered a best friend and had been with since childhood was a crazy psychopath.

"What fire do you mean, Kris?" ask Valeda.

"Is Miss unsuspecting?" kris Sahut. "The fire that occurred when little Miss, was not an accident."

Rangga chuckled at Kris' response. "Do you have any evidence that it wasn't an accident? What do you have to do to drag me into that case again?"

"Oh, now you admit that it was what you did?" sambar Kris's. "Miss listen to yourself, right? The fire was not Daniel's fault, but one of these humans!"

Rangga approached Kris and struck a blind blow at Kris. Celine, who was shocked by Rangga's sudden movements, immediately screamed and begged Rangga to stop his actions.

"No! Rangga, stop! No!" great-grandson Celine is desperate.

Rangga stopped after feeling satisfied beating Kris. "You're such a bitch" said Rangga. "Why are you bringing up my past? It's no good for you to know all that now."

Kris wiped the blood on the tip of his lips with his shoulder. "Then, there is no harm in telling the truth in front of Miss Valeda" Kris said.

"Hehehehe," The conscious Daniel was silent, suddenly chuckling. He still sleeps on his back facing the ceiling of the warehouse. "He won't tell you anything, Chris. He's too cowardly to dirty his hands with honesty."

Valeda and Celine exchanged glances. They do not understand why Daniel and Kris talk so much, even though they are the aggrieved party? Worse still, the two of them always provoke Rangga's anger.

"Do you want to know the truth about the fire?" Rangga asked. "But, every single sentence I say, you will take a beating from me. Fair, right?"

Rangga woke up to Kris. "What's your question?"

"Did you burn down Miss Valeda's greenhouse?"

MAAM!

A punch landed on Kris' left jaw. Rangga smiled as he watched Daniel stay firmly in his place. "Yes, I did it" replied Rangga lightly.

Valeda's eyes are round. He did not believe that Rangga could answer that question so easily at this moment. Valeda's heart was beating very fast. His head became a little dizzy. He closed his eyes, trying to recall what had really happened.

"Can't you remember that, love?" rangga's attention turned to Valeda.

"Why did you do that?" ask Valeda. His voice trembled following the pounding of his heart that was as loud as an oncoming train.

"Why?" Rangga repeated Valeda's question. "What else do you think I'm doing that for, other than because I like you so much?"

Valeda gulps. The feather stands. Valeda was horrified himself, because he realized he had fallen for Rangga when they sat on the Junior High first. However, that feeling he buried deeply when he saw Rangga dating other women. He concluded that between himself and Rangga, there should be no romance.

"I don't understand, why don't you realize it?"

"You're dating a lot of women. How do I realize that?" argue Valeda.

"That's just a way to make you jealous. But, this is what I get now." Rangga rolled his sleeves up to his elbows. He relaxed his wrist muscles with a cheerful face. "Is there a next question?"

"Why did you accuse me of being the perpetrator of that time?" Daniel raised his voice.

Rangga quickly approached Daniel, about to kick him hard. But Kris hurriedly confronted and returned the look of Rangga's eyes boldly. Rangga immediately landed his second fist on Kris. "Well, a heartwarming friendship" said Rangga. He wiped the blood on his handbook with a handkerchief. "Daniel, after this you must keep your mouth shut so that your friend is not battered like your fate!"

"Answer question!" cut Kris.

Ranggai smiled again. His mood was being good as it was getting a lot of prey today.  "Daniel is like a bug. His father was Valeda's father's right-hand man long ago, but Daniel acted as if he were Valeda's life partner. A lowly man who does not know himself. He forgot the land and had to be taught a lesson, right?"

Valeda. A few glimpses of his childhood flashed across his head. He remembered about a boy who always invited him to play. Valeda is not a good mingle boy, but the boy helps him socialize and Valeda likes the boy.

"Love, do you have any idea how much money your father spent to keep those memories from popping into your head again?" Rangga asked. "I still remember how your mother shook when people called you 'Master Mad Daughter'."

Daniel turned to Valeda. He knew that the woman was facing a difficult time. There's a good reason until he forgets everything. Daniel doesn't know what will happen to Valeda if he remembers everything. Daniel's one belief is that he will not leave Valeda at any risk.

"There's another question?" challenge Rangga.

Kris was about to open his mouth, when a loud thumping sound cut him off. "Val!" pekik Celine was shocked. He shifted quickly to approach Valeda lying on the floor. "The val! Valeda!" call Celine worried.

Daniel remained silent. He wanted to get close to Valeda, but it was difficult for him to move. His body stiffened from the pain. "Val.." he murmured softly. "Celine, did Valeda faint?" Daniel ensured.

Celine nodded. "It seems like his head hurts again from remembering his childhood events," Celine replied.

"Good," Rangga interrupted. "In that way, it would be easy for me to take her to the hospital to abort her womb."

Daniel's jaw is hard. He was eager to beat Rangga all out. "I have a question" Daniel tried to buy time, even though he knew there was no hope even though he did. Finally Rangga will take Valeda and find out that the pregnancy is just fake news.

Kris straightened his body, preparing to receive Rangga's next blow. He didn't want Daniel to get beat up by Rangga again. Kris knew that Daniel had reached his limit. If it were more than this, Daniel could be unconscious, or worse, Daniel would lose his life.

MAAM!

Kris fell in a curled up position after Rangga kicked him. Kris could feel his shoulders shift. He closed his jaw to endure the pain.

"Please ask the question" Rangga invited.

"Did you kill my sister?" furious Daniel. His eyes flashed with vengeance, but it did not make Rangga tremble.

Rangga's eyebrows lifted. He turned around and called one of his men. A man in a black shirt with a body was approaching him. "It wasn't me who killed those children" replied Rangga. He pulled the man's hand and showed his fingers. Rangga smiled obliquely. "But this man killed him."

Daniel's teeth were grinding. Anger overflows overpowering him. His face was hot and his heart was beating fast. Right now he just wants to eliminate Rangga. A dirty man who cannot accept reality and justify all means, to take the lives of even innocent people.

However, the anger subsided when Daniel accidentally saw Kris' smile even at a glance, when Rangga turned his back to them to order his men to prepare the car. Daniel tries to calm down and doesn't ask what Kris's plans are. Since the most 'silent' person became very big-mouthed, Daniel just followed the plot.

"I think our question-and-answer session should end here. We'll still meet and you'll rot here" Rangga returned to them. "Daniel, I will bring your son here as a souvenir" he added with a triumphant satisfied face.
