74. Tear

"Val... Valedas... Wake up... Valeda..."

That voice made Valeda wake up from his stupor. The voice that made his heart tremble lately and was hard to forget. "Daniel!?" Valeda regained his senses and immediately spread his gaze around, hoping that his hearing was not just an illusion.

Daniel smiled seeing Valeda finally open his eyes. "You're okay? Does your cheek hurt?" ask Daniel.

Valeda, who heard this from Daniel, wept. His heart was broken seeing Daniel's current state. Without seeing the situation directly, Valeda already knew what Daniel had been through for as long as he disappeared. "It... It's all because of me." said Valeda amid sobs.

"Val, listen to me!" Daniel said in a firm voice. He could not see Valeda's tears at the moment. Daniel wants to make sure that Valeda doesn't feel guilty about what happened. "Val, stop crying! Listen to me!" pinta Daniel again.

Valeda sobbed for a while, but was finally able to control himself and stop crying. He returned Daniel's stern eyes. Daniel's eyes, which had been sparkling, were now dim. Face pale. There were bruises and cuts on each of his jaws. In fact, the bloodstains looked new at Daniel's temple.

"Val... I told you from the beginning. It's the consequences I'm taking. My actions are purely because of my decision. Loving you is my decision. How could this be your fault?" Daniel said as gently as possible. He wished Valeda believed what he was saying at this moment.

"But, is all this Rangga's right?" ask Valeda. She bit her lower lip so she wouldn't cry anymore.

"I saw him bring you here last night" replied Daniel.

Valeda tried to get out of his sleep. At that time, he realized that his hands and feet were tied. Valeda circled his gaze around, trying to digest what was going on in that short period of time. "Every night?" mummified Valeda slowly.

"How could Rangga bring you here? Did you volunteer?" ask Daniel.

Valeda. "No. We got into a fight at my apartment. Then he knocked me unconscious. The only thing I know after that is to meet you here."

"Don't I warn you, don't open the door for that man?" daniel's voice sounded a little angry.

"There's Celine and Kris there" Valeda whispered.

Daniel's eyebrows are wrinkled. "You mean, Rangga did this to you in front of Celine and Kris?"

"Of course not" Valeda closed his eyes for a moment. His head was dizzy, while his cheeks were back throbbing painfully. "Celine and Kris I asked to hide in the guest camp."

"I hope Rangga doesn't find them" said Daniel.

Valeda agreed. At least, two of his friends were not dragged into this incident. They could definitely be key witnesses if Valeda and Daniel could escape from here.

"Did you get rid of my gift clock near your living room television?" ask Daniel suddenly.

"What?" Valeda asked back, astonished by the question that Daniel suddenly asked. "No. The clock is still in place. Why why?"

Daniel turned to the door for a moment. He made sure the door was tightly shut and no one there was eavesdropping on their conversation. "Sorry for this. Earlier, I installed a wiretap inside that watch. Your quarrel with Rangga could have been recorded there."

"You told someone about the eavesdropper?" Valeda asked.

Daniel nodded. "My friend. He'll act if I don't show up in a month."

"Annex? That's too long" protested Valeda.

Daniel was just grinning. Valeda swallowed his protest because it would not change anything for the time being. The longer he looked at Daniel's face, the more sorrowful he felt. Valeda wanted to wipe away the blood that began to drip past Daniel's temple, but his hands were firmly tied.

The barn door suddenly opened wide. Daniel and Vanela looked at each other. Rangga breezed inside with two large-bodied men. "Is your sleep good?" greet Rangga, more to Valeda.

Valeda remained silent. Defects after poisons were about to be ejected from his mouth at this moment. He wanted to shout for Rangga to release them, but of course he knew it was impossible.

"Do you understand now? I can do anything as easy as turning my palm. I can make you feel comfortable, or vice versa. But, what can that person do?"

"Let us go!" sahut Valeda's.

Rangga's smile disappeared. "Did you not understand your position?" tanyakanya. He stepped quickly towards Daniel and kicked Daniel to the point of being toppled over.

"Stop!!!" exclaim Valeda. "DON'T TOUCH DANIEL!" his screeches.

Rangga smiled a cynical smile. "Marry me, if you want this weak man to survive!" threaten her.

"Hehehehehe..." Daniel laughed instead. "Val, isn't this funny? He's doing this dirty thing just to get you" Daniel said.

BUKS! BUKS! BUKS!

The blows again lodged into Daniel's battered face. Valeda, who saw it firsthand, froze for a few seconds.

"STOP IT! STOP, RANGGA!!! STOP!!!" Valeda is hysterical.

His hand stopped in the air. His eyes glittered at the crying Valeda. "Why are you crying for her?" Rangga. Daniel's blood dripped from his finger. "Is he that good, until you stick with him? What can he do for you? What can that lowly man give you?"

Valeda's cries won't stop. Tears flowed profusely down her cheeks. He did not dare to speak after seeing the consequences of his words. Valeda felt that maybe he could hold back if the one who was hurt was him. But, if the one who received the consequences of his big mouth was Daniel, he better be quiet from the start.

"Master!"

The call melted the tense atmosphere. A middle-aged man in shabby clothes came to Rangga. The man's face was pale, cold sweat soaked his clothes.

Rangga frowned, clearly distracted by the arrival of that person. "What's wrong?"

"Sa-I got a report! The Gu-warehouse Master in the next town is on fire!"

Rangga. His shoulders straightened. "What's!? How can!?" yells.

"I don't know, Sir! But the fire department was already on site and trying to put out the fire!"

Rangga pulled her hair back. His face was red with anger. He could kill anyone so upset he was right now. Without a word, Rangga immediately ran a little outside the warehouse with all his men.

"And... Daniel.." cried Valeda, writhing toward Daniel who was motionless. "Daniel.." call him again. When he arrived next to Daniel, Valeda put his ear to Daniel's chest.

"I'm alive" Daniel said suddenly.

Valeda pulled his head. "Don't die.." pinta Valeda said.

Daniel smiled broadly. "Well if that's what you want" Daniel replied.
