47. Campus

"Verdinant," replied Mr. Suherman.

'Wait, wait!' Valeda got up from his seat. He walked quickly towards one of the bookshelves and grabbed the black file box. He took the red map he had read with Daniel from inside. "Daniel Kafeel Verdinant" whispered Valeda.

"What did you say, Val?" asked Mr. Suherman for not hearing Valeda's words clearly.

"Ah, it's nothing, Pa," Valeda lied. He didn't want to make Mr. Suherman worry. After all, Valeda had yet to find a bright spot of what was happening. He better investigate first. He was still confused by everything that happened. Valeda hired Daniel himself, so there's little chance Daniel had any bad intentions in the first place.

"Do you think Daniel is Verdinant?" guess Mr. Suherman.

Valeda racked his brain to avoid Mr. Suherman's suspicion. "Val thinks he's not the Verdinant you mean," Valeda lied.

"It could be, Val," Mr. Suherman insisted.

Valeda knew that Mr. Suherman had found a loophole to ask Valeda to break up with Daniel. If Mr. Suherman knew the truth and Valeda had no good reason to stay, their relationship would end sooner than Valeda had anticipated.

Valeda's little heart screamed. He refused to think about the bad possibility. Valeda still wants to be around people who always praise him, even though he knows it's in the contract. He could not yet part from Daniel's gentle demeanor.

"Not to be discussed anymore. Val got dizzy, ", said Valeda. "Val work first, Pa. The drug!" Valeda hung up on me.

He threw himself on the seat and rubbed his forehead. Valeda really felt dizzy. Mr. Suherman's story doesn't go along with the flash of memory he has in his head.

"Aargha! Why at a time like this, I don't even remember anything?" erang irritated.

Valeda took a long breath. The shadow of the moments in which Daniel returned was cold to her, making Valeda sad. He pressed button two on his phone that was directly connected to Celine's desk.

"Yes, Val?" greet Celine from across.

"Take Daniel into my room, now!" answer Valeda. He has to straighten something out.

"Lho's? I thought you knew?" Celine sounded confused.

"Know what?" valeda did not understand.

"Daniel went to college with Kris."

Valeda. "today? Not tomorrow?"

"Daniel's work was done a few days ago. So, today he's free. I gave him permission to go to college. I see, your schedule is only in the office, I asked Kris to drive Daniel to save costs" Celine explained.

'I forgot that Daniel was a smart and smart man. No wonder the work is done quickly, said Valeda in his heart.

"Why, Val? You need Daniel now?" ask Celine.

"No. It'sit's okay. Thank you," Valeda ended her call. Valeda glanced at the pile of papers in front of him. "Geezoo! Why is my job this much? I want to follow Daniel to college.." whine.

Valeda strengthened his resolve to finish his work today as quickly as possible. However, he's the leader of this company, and he has a big responsibility.

(Three hours later.).

"Well! Look who finished his work lightning-fast!?" valeda was proud of himself. The job should have been completed within a day, but he sped it up to three hours. "okay! Time to follow Daniel!" he tidied up all the files on the table. Valeda grabbed the bag he had placed at the end of his desk, then walked quickly outside the room.

"Lho, Val? Where are you going?" celine asked as she got up from her seat.

"You go to Daniel's college" Valeda replied.

"Eh? But Kris isn't here to make your anther."

"I can use an office car" Valeda started walking back.

They went down to the ground floor together. Celine feels that Valeda looks funny at the moment. Valeda's like losing her mother. Celine had never seen Valeda like this before. "Why didn't you know that Daniel wasn't at his desk?" Celine opened the conversation.

"Not to be discussed" said Valeda. "Have you called the office driver to get ready?" Valeda diverted the conversation.

Celine held up her phone. "Of course it is. I'm sensitive to your needs, Val" Celine replied. "But, it seems like it's the hours that the kids go home from college" Celine said.

Valeda glanced at his watch. It turned out to be four in the afternoon. "But Daniel and Kris haven't come back yet."

"Maybe we will cross the road. Besides, the streets will be jammed because of the office hours."

"I don't care. I'm going there." Valeda jumped straight from the elevator and walked briskly down the ground floor lobby. Celine followed in a hasty step behind Valeda.

As soon as he saw a car parked in front of the lobby, Valeda immediately entered, followed by Celine. "Gosh, Val! Why should I rush that? I'll just call Kris if you want to meet them on campus!"

"No! No!" prevent Valeda. "No need to contact them" he added.

The streets were indeed jammed like what Celine had said. Many vehicles crowded the streets of the capital. Valeda had to be extra patient to deal with the traffic jam, because he himself insisted he wanted to go to campus at this hour.

After spending an hour, they finally arrived at Daniel's campus. Valeda dyed, looking for his car.

"That's my car!" Valeda pointed at the black sedan parked under the tree. "They're still here!"

Celine snorted amusedly seeing Valeda excitedly. "You look so happy. Can't wait to meet your heart, huh?" goda.

"Not to overdo it!" Valeda punched Celine's arm. "Come, find them!"

Celine followed Valeda back into the campus. As they were about to pass through the gate, a security guard stopped their steps.

"I'm sorry" said the security guard. "Can you name your need to get into campus?"

Valeda turned to Celine who directly reached into her bag. "This, Sir!" Celine took out a copy of Valeda's identity card and presented it to Satpam. "She's Miss Valeda, one of the funders at this campus. I'm assistant. We're just gonna pick up our friend who went to college here."

"Oh, Miss Valeda! Sorry I didn't recognize Miss!" The security guard returned the identity card to Celine's hand. "Please come in, Miss!"

"Thank you" replied Valeda. He rushed to the campus to find Daniel.

Nearly thirty minutes later they were circling the campus, but the tip of Daniel's nose they couldn't find either. "Hhh, you still want to find them, Val?" ask Celine in despair. "This campus is wide and my legs hurt from walking long distances with these high heels."

Valeda crossed his arms in front of his chest. "Squeaky. There aren't many people on this campus, but even Daniel's voice I can't hear."

"Who knows, Daniel is now the same girl" said Celine.

Valeda looked quickly. "Do you think Daniel will find his heart fast?" Valeda is serious.

Celine shrugged her shoulders. "Either. Everything is possible in this world," Celine still replied. Celine looked at Valeda closely, and found that the answer she gave just now was disturbing her best friend. "Mmm, Val, let's go to the cafeteria, okay? Who knows they're there. We used to love hanging out in the cafeteria while doing chores, right?" celine's proposal, divert the conversation.

Valeda started to step back. Celine was surprised, Valeda could rule out the pain in her legs even though they were both wearing high heels.

"There really is such a teacher? Ahaha!" Suddenly Daniel's voice was heard.

Valeda stopped when she heard Daniel's voice. Ears sharpening. He walked slowly and peeked out from behind the wall. Celine, who was behind him, did not understand why Valeda stopped instead of coming straight for Daniel.

"Why not go there?" ask Celine.

"Saturday!" Valeda squinted his eyes and saw Daniel sitting on one of the chairs in the campus cafeteria, with two women.
