"No! I'm still against it!" great-grandson of Madame Emely. "I can't let my only daughter get into a relationship with a man who doesn't have a regular job like you!"
Daniel kept a smile on his lips. "But now I'm one of the officers here. I have a steady income," replied Daniel confidently, making Madam Emely cursing and Mr. Suherman holding back a laugh.
Valeda could only shut up. He had expected that Daniel would be that smart in answering. Daniel is good at tongue-shinting. Valeda's choice at this time only believes in Daniel's ability to face his parents.
"Father! Fire him!" whinek Mrs Emely.
"where can. This is not my office" replied Mr. Suherman, shrugging his shoulders. Madam Emely was about to burst out her emotions again, when Mr. Suherman rubbed his arm, asking Madam Emely to be patient. "Papa came here just to see Valeda's girlfriend, not start a dispute."
Madam Emely snorted loudly. "Whatever!" the answer, then passed from Valeda's room.
Mr. Suherman could only sigh in the face of his wife's temperament. "Sorry, my wife has not been able to accept that her daughter has grown up" said Mr. Suherman.
"Did Papa accept?" ask Valeda.
Mr. Suherman smiled. "Come to dinner at the family event tomorrow" said Mr. Suherman.
"We have business, Pa," Valeda refused.
Mr. Suherman stood up from his seat. "Come!" he said once again. His tone confirmed that it was an order. "Papa pamit's. There's still other business."
Daniel and Valeda stood up. They followed Mr. Suherman outside the room. Celine and the others stood up and bowed to take Mr. Suherman away.
"Just get here" said Mr. Suherman as the elevator doors opened. He went inside and pressed the ground floor button.
"It looks like I'm going to be massacred at dinner tomorrow?" Daniel.
Valeda pulled her hair back. "I forgot that tomorrow is our big family's annual event."
"Don't be confused and anxious" Daniel stroked Valeda's head.
Valeda was shocked by Daniel's treatment. But, he soon realized that all his employees were watching them. "Let's go in first," asked Valeda.
They walked back into Valeda's room, to avoid the employees' gazes.
"How am I not worried?" valeda said as Daniel closed the door behind him. "All my family will be together. Not only the nuclear family, but also the family of Papa and Mama. Holy hooch! My nuclear family has made me dizzy!" lamented Valeda.
Daniel was sitting on the sofa he left behind a moment ago. "What should I beware of?" ask Daniel. He himself was actually nervous, because at any time if he was to act wrongly, his guise would be exposed. Then, his deal with Valeda will end at that very moment.
"Everything!" valeda replied frustratedly. "Father, Mama, Brother Alex, Brother Joan, and others! Especially Joan! Jesus, he'll be there too!"
Daniel did not think that this day would come. Even if it was just pretending, Valeda was no ordinary person. To play her love is to give up her life. "It's okay. I'll be as polite as possible and won't tarnish your good name."
"If something happens outside your control-"
"Nothing will be out of my control" Daniel quickly cut. Daniel who looked confident made Valeda breathe a little relieved.
Valeda threw himself into his chair. "I can trust you?" ask Valeda.
Daniel nodded. "I won't waste your money."
"I can even give you a bonus if you can get away tomorrow" added Valeda.
"It doesn't mean anything" Valeda said. "I just want my life to be safe in your hands."
Daniel scratched his chin. "I don't want a bonus" Daniel said. "I want you to cook something for me."
Valeda was gaping, not believing what he heard. "A.." He couldn't find an excuse.
"HAHAHAHAHA!" Daniel. "I guessed it! Your cooking is not good!"
Valeda's face flushed when he heard it. His hand grabbed the pen and threw it at Daniel. "Stop laughing!" exclaimed Valeda upset.
"HAHAHAHAHAHAHA!" daniel's laughter grew even louder, as if challenging Valeda to a duel.
Valeda got up and went straight to Daniel. He pinched Daniel's cheek with anxiety. "Stop! Stop laughing right now!"
"Miss, Miss! Hahahaha, this hurts, Miss!" daniel answered, still with a laugh. But he did not shake Valeda's hand, because he himself felt he deserved to be punished.
Valeda's face turned red, as if smoke was coming out of the crown of his head so shamefully Valeda. "Stop, Dan!" Valeda covered Daniel with his hand. Valeda was stunned when her palm touched Daniel's soft, warm lips.
Daniel still chuckles even though his mouth is smothered. His hand moved to hold Valeda's wrist. He opened Valeda's hand slowly. "Sorry," he said, grinning. "I'm outrageous. Sorry."
Valeda is not warting. He was confused by the reaction of his body back then. His heart raced very fast, his eyes became unfocused, his brain stopped, and his body sculpted.
Daniel realizes that Valeda is losing consciousness. "Val?" call him. Valeda still did not react. Daniel stretched out his hand, then touched Valeda's cheek. "Valeda?"
Valeda's eyes blinked, shocked by the warmth of Daniel's hand. "Huh? What's?"
"Are you okay?" daniel asked, confused to find Valeda just silent. "What's wrong?"
Valeda shook his head awkwardly. "No-no, it's okay" he answered nervously. Valeda turned his face and left in front of Daniel.
Daniel glanced at his watch. "I'll take you home."
Valeda looked quickly. "Why?" tanyakanya.
Daniel shakes his head. "You don't look all right" replied Daniel. "I'll drive you to your apartment. If you want, I can make dinner too."
"No, no, no, no" Valeda refused quickly. "I'm doing fine. I just need to sit."
Daniel doesn't believe Valeda. "I insist, Miss," he said.
Valeda sat in his chair. He looked at Daniel. Valeda regulated his wheezing breath, not knowing for what reason. He forced his brain to go back to work. He did not really understand why it felt so stifling every time he got close to Daniel.
"I'll be waiting for you outside. In an hour, we go home together. Don't think about overtime. Rest in peace once in a while" Daniel said. He waited for an answer from Valeda for a while, but Valeda only returned his gaze. Daniel got up, and passed from Valeda's room.
Valeda took a deep breath as Daniel disappeared from his sight. "What's going on?" ask him to himself. "There's something weird. I need to consult my doctor about this. It seems like a serious thing, because I can't control myself."
Valeda grabbed her smartphone and typed an e-mail to her personal doctor, making an appointment to meet. After pressing the send button, Valeda leaned back into her seat.
The strange murmur that Valeda felt earlier, was still imprinted on his head. He felt strange, as well as addicted. He liked the swish, but also had the mind to be careful.
