FORBIDDEN TO FALL IN LOVE

FORBIDDEN TO FALL IN LOVE
56. Messed

Valeda grunted in annoyance. "Then can I meet Rangga?"

"No!" answer Daniel quickly.

Valeda's eyebrows are wrinkled. He feels unfair in many ways. "You are so again. Why do you always have to be you and you? I also want to feel calm when I'm away from you" said Valeda. A second later, he realized what he had said. His face immediately flushed.

Daniel smiled broadly. He felt soar to get a statement from Valeda. "You can trust me, Val," said Daniel, trying to calm Valeda down.

"Do you still have a taste for that woman?" ask Valeda.

"I told you from the beginning, my goal so far has been to support my sisters and help you, right? I have no interest whatsoever but that." Daniel sounded confident in his words, making Valeda quite trusting.

"So, when I had breakfast, I met Mama" Valeda decided to change the subject.

"Then, what's new?" Daniel asked.

Valeda sighed before answering. "Mama hasn't given up on us. He'll still force me to go on a blind date" he lamented.

"If that's the case, we'll just destroy the date" Daniel replied lightly.

Suddenly the ringing sound of Daniel's cell phone in his pants pocket was heard. Daniel immediately checked who contacted him. "Kiki?" murmured Daniel. It turned out that one of the orphanage children contacted him.

"Your sister?" ask Valeda.

Daniel nodded and picked up the phone. "Hello, Ki?" sapana.

"Sister!" sambar Kiki with a trembling voice.

Daniel knew his brother was crying. "What's up, Ki? Why are you crying?" ask Daniel.

"Sister Dan..." Kiki sounded soft. His cries became more and more.

"Ki, calm down!" daniel's voice sounded firm. "Return your breath, control yourself! Then tell me what's up!"

Valeda rubbed Daniel's arm. "What's wrong?" valeda asked as Daniel looked at her.

Daniel shook without a sound. He gave Kiki some time to calm herself down first. After about a minute, Daniel spoke again. "What's up, Ki?"

"K-Sister... I got a phone call... Kak Cahya, Kak Wahyu, and Kak Yano said they were in the hospital. Ja-so, I took Kak Jingga and Kak Nana to the hospital for a check. It's la-then..." Kiki stopped talking and cried again.

"What hospital?" hiss Daniel. His hands clenched over his lap.

Valeda realized that something was wrong with Daniel's brothers just by looking at Daniel's expression.

Daniel suddenly hung up the phone and patted the taxi driver on the shoulder. "Sir, please go to Harapan Hospital" he told the driver.

"Why go to my hospital?" Valeda was curious because Daniel called his hospital. "What's up, Dan?"

Daniel scrunched his forehead. "Three of my sisters went to college, an accident."

"What!?" peekkik Valeda's. "How did it go!?"

Daniel shakes. "I don't know yet. Kiki kept crying. If it's not Orange and Nana talking to me on the phone, it means something's wrong."

Valeda shuddered in horror. His hair stood up as he imagined the worst possible event for Daniel's three younger brothers.

But they have no other choice. They could only wait until they finally arrived at Harapan Hospital. Thirty minutes really felt horrible and long.

"And, relax!" Valeda pulled Daniel's hand as he was about to get out of the car, but the pace of the car had not stopped completely.

"Sorry," murmured Daniel.

Valeda held his hand, knowing that Daniel's mind was empty at the moment. He can act rashly and create trouble. "Calm down! Follow me!" valeda's orders.

He pulled Daniel towards the front office desk. Seeing the owner of the hospital appear, the attendant immediately stood up to greet him. "There are patients named Wahyu, Cahya, and Yano?" ask Valeda without further ado.

"Wait a minute, miss," replied Warni who was on duty at the front office desk. His fingers quickly crawl using a computer mouse. Then, a few seconds later Warni nodded. "There," he answered. "The three patients were still in the emergency."

"Thank you" Valeda replied before passing.

Valeda turned around as they arrived at the back door of the emergency room. "You need to calm down!" Valeda.

Daniel nodded. He also did not want to make a fuss at the Valeda hospital. Daniel stretched out his hand, then opened the door of the room. The face that Daniel saw first was the face of Kiki who was sitting with a pale face in front of the nurse counter.

"Ki!" Daniel approached immediately. "Where are the others?"

"Girlgigyoo!" Kiki ran over and hugged Daniel. The crying spilled back. He buried his face in Daniel's arm.

"Excuse me, Sister," Valeda took over when she saw a nurse passing by. "Where are the patients on behalf of Cahya, Yano, and Wahyu?"

"For Cahya and Wahyu patients, there are in bed number six and seven. If it's Yano.." The nurse seemed hesitant. "What do you have to do with the patient?"

"This man is his brother. I'm in charge" Valeda said.

"I am so sorry for your loss. Yano was on bed number one," the nurse replied softly.

Daniel's heart stopped. Head turned. All the sounds disappeared and his ears were ringing. "What?" whispered Daniel. His voice could barely get out.

Valeda patted Daniel on the shoulder. "Wait a minute. I'll check it out, "he said, then passed away going to bed number one.

Daniel took off Kiki's embrace. "Where are Orange and Nana?" ask her to Kiki.

Kiki pointed at the passageway containing the bed with the curtains closed. "K-Kak Orange fainted... Sister Nana is there." she replied softly.

Daniel's legs suddenly stiffened. He can't move. Daniel chose to wait for Valeda until he returned.

Not long after, Valeda came out from behind the curtain of bed one. His face was no less pale than Kiki's. Daniel knows something's wrong. He quickly approached Valeda. Without asking anything, Daniel uncovers the bed curtain.

Yano was there, lying on an emergency bed with a blanket over his neck. Yano's face looked deathly pale. His left side was covered in bandages. A rope crossed from his chin and tied at the top of his head.

"Yano?" call Daniel. His voice was shaking violently. He doesn't want to believe what he sees. "Hey, Yano... Wake up! Brother's coming!"

Nothing has changed. Yano was silent not flinching. Daniel opens a small blanket that covers Yano's body. He wears the shirt Daniel bought for him to go to college. The shirt is now dirty with a blackish-red stain. Daniel held Yano's hand. It feels ice cold.

"What's going on?" daniel asked, though there was no answer from Yano.

Daniel tidied up the blanket and covered Yano to the end of his head. Then he came back to Valeda.

"I have to know what happened" Daniel said.

"His doctor is here," Valeda turned to a middle-aged man wearing a white suit.

"Good day, Mr. Daniel. I'm Doctor Michael. I'm the one who took care of your brothers when they were delivered to this hospital" the man replied.

"What's going on?" ask Daniel.

"Your three sisters had an accident while crossing the road. A drunk driver broke through a red light and hit your three sisters" Doctor Michael said in a calm tone. "They were brought here. Cahya's patient has broken bones in the legs and shoulders. Fortunately, Patient Cahya did not have serious injuries to the head. We're gonna have an operation tonight if you agree."

"Please do it tonight, Doc," replied Daniel quickly.

"Let me take care of that" added Valeda.

Daniel nodded his head and threw a look of gratitude at Valeda. "Then, what about my other sister, Doc?" ask Daniel.

"For the Patient of Revelation, he had a head injury. When he arrived, his condition was not good enough and he was vomiting. We can say it was a severe head injury and the patient is not really conscious at the moment. A schedule of operations to lower the pressure on his head will be held in a few minutes. Sorry, we're not waiting for you to come, because this includes a 'life saving' case'."

Daniel wiped the tears that were dripping down his cheeks. "Thank you, Doc..."

"Then" Doctor Michael let down his tone. "We can't save Yano's patient. He came without any reaction and his pulse was not palpable. We tried resuscitation, but nothing changed. If it's pleasing, we'll stitch up the wound on his head before you bring the patient home."

Daniel held the tip of the nurse counter because his head was spinning. He didn't want to believe what the doctor said. Just this morning he spoke to Yano. In fact, Daniel still remembers Yano's smile. "No way.." he said.

Valeda hugged Daniel. "And, relax... Let's see your other sisters" Valeda asked.
