71. Hatred

Daniel opened his hard-pressed eyes. He blinked a few times to adjust his vision to the surroundings. The room was dark and moist, as if it had not been getting enough air for a long time.

Suddenly, Daniel could feel something warm dripping past his eyebrows. Daniel shook his head. Instantly, the pain hit him. His head feels like it's about to break.

"Aarrgghh..." Daniel groaned slowly. He closed his eyes back. Breath hunting. He gasped softly as he endured the pain, almost losing consciousness.

Daniel took a deep breath, then exhaled slowly. He tried his hardest to calm himself. He opened his eyes slowly. Darkness immediately ambushed. With his heart pounding, Daniel circulated his gaze. There was a glimmer of light that burst in through the small window located far above. Not long after, Daniel could feel the movement.

"Hehehehe..." Daniel chuckles. Don't know why, he felt so funny. Without having to see directly who the person sitting not far from his place, Daniel seemed to know who it was. Daniel looked down, finding his legs tied. He tried to move his hand. His range of motion is really limited. His hands are tied too.

"Are you so afraid of me that you have to tie my hands and feet?" daniel said in a hoarse voice. His head was dizzy, so he closed his eyes again. "Not to hide" continued Daniel. "Just by hearing the sound of your breath, I already know who you are."

The chair the person was sitting on was grinding as he got up from his seat. "You're talking a lot too, huh?" insinuations.

Daniel smiled bitterly as he looked at the face of the man who was struck by the light from the window. Even though he had guessed who did this to him, he still felt pity. "Somehow Valeda feels.." whispered.

Taps! Taps! Taps! Taps! Taps!

The sound of footsteps approaching Daniel sounded heavy and steady. Daniel could tell that the man was angry and not satisfied with beating him. "You can still talk apparently."

A flashing kick struck Daniel's cheek. Spontaneous Daniel clenched his teeth. A taste of iron instantly filled his mouth. Daniel accidentally bit his own lip.

"Speak again!" exclaim that guy.

"From the beginning, you were the mastermind" replied Daniel. "You killed my brothers, didn't you?"

"HAHAHAHAHAHA!!!" he laughed, though according to Daniel nothing funny.

Daniel looked at the face of the man before him. From the beginning, he had not liked that person. But this time he hated her.

Daniel hated him not because he beat him up. But he thought more about the woman he loved.

The woman who made herself that upset is now out there all alone. No one can reveal the truth. Daniel saw it all alone.

His fear grew even greater when he imagined the horrified face of Valeda knowing what the man was doing. He loved the woman and did not want her tears wasted because of the evil she had received.

"What do you want?" hiss Daniel.

The man's lips were drawn upwards, making an arc of a disgusting smile for Daniel. "Of course you know" he answered. "Do I have to say it again? Aren't you the smartest man?"

Daniel rubbed the blood flowing from the corner of his lips with his shoulder. His wrists began to pulsate painfully, while his fingers began to numb. "Stay away from Valeda?" terka Daniel's.

Eyes shiny. "Yes!" firmly answer.

Daniel snorted loudly. "Who do you think you are?"

THE DUAK!!!

"I.." he growled. "I was the one who paid attention to Valeda first. I was the one who loved Valeda first. Not you!"

Daniel laughed a little. "Do I have to wait in line to get Valeda's love?" hardik Daniel's. "Isn't it in love, 'who's fast, who's got it'?"

"What did you say!?"

"You've had years with him. Why don't you use it? Why are you just waiting? Now, when Valeda is in my hands, you want her and blame me instead?" Daniel spoke without knowing that his interlocutor had wanted to kill him.

"I'm waiting for Valeda to make sure he's okay" she said.

"Hahahahaha," it was Daniel's turn to feel funny. "all right? From what things?"

Daniel's eyebrows are up. "I? How could I be a threat to such a strong woman?"

"You made him weak!"

"Isn't that just your mind?" cut Daniel. He watched the person's facial water before continuing. "Even Valeda doesn't remember the fire."

"Where could he not remember? He must remember!"

"Why are you so insistent?" Daniel did not understand. "Are you being this angry, because you knew long ago that Valeda would rather be with me than with you?"

"SILENCE!!!"

The punch hit Daniel's cheek again. He who had already gotten many blows without a fight, fell face down on the cold floor. Fine dust filled his daggers as Daniel breathed. Head turned. He could not keep his consciousness anymore. Daniel finally fainted.

Daniel dreamed of his happy childhood. Where he plays with the sweet Valeda. Valeda is very kind and innocent. Valeda was able to make him fall in love in an instant. Then, he also dreamed about his father who was broke. Then his sister died. And his mother committed suicide. All that glint went very fast.

Daniel jerks. He's back to reality. His hands and feet were still firmly tied. The dizziness on his head did not immediately disappear. Daniel looked up, looking at the small window far above. The sunlight is very bright. So bright, to be able to illuminate the entire corner of the room.

The room looked like an old warehouse, but the walls were still solid. Across the window was a large wooden door. The door looks new.

"It would be a waste of time if I tried to break it" Daniel murmured.

Daniel tried to get up. His body felt pain all over. He dragged his body with great difficulty until he sat down. Daniel leaned against the wall and felt the warmth of the sun on it.

"Valeda.." whispered Daniel softly. "I'm sorry... I'm sloppy... I hope, Celine or Kris can tell you something."

Without feeling, Daniel's tears were shed. His heart was sliced with every thought that Valeda's smile could be lost at any moment. He wanted to get out of here immediately and protect Valeda with his own hands, but it was impossible. Right now, he had no strength even to breathe. Empty stomach. Thirsty got her throat under control. Running out of energy makes him sleepy quickly.

Daniel closed his eyes again. His breathing slowed down. Daniel fell asleep again. But this time he wasn't dreaming. His body is limp. His ears were deaf, so he could not hear the door open.
