49. Be off

Valeda washed himself with warm water, then went into the tub to soak. He wanted to make his body relax so that it could rest well today.

Valeda decided to shut himself down that day. After informing Celine that she will not be coming to the office, Valeda deactivates her phone and goes for a shower.

Mind saturated. There's too much he thinks. About his childhood, Daniel's anger, the scar on Daniel's neck, and the story of Mr. Suherman.

Valeda closed her eyes and tried to recall who the child who walked with her to the greenhouse that day was.

"There are obviously two people with me" Valeda murmured. "Can I remember if I saw their picture?" ask Valeda to herself. "I'll try to check the photo album after I've finished the soak."

Valeda drowned his head and held his breath for a few seconds. That way he used to train her to calm down. In doing so, Valeda's ears became deaf and she focused only on her heartbeat.

Ten seconds passed, Valeda reappeared on the surface. The warmth of the water in his bath opened the pores of Valeda's skin, making him more relaxed. "Today, I'll relax," Valeda stretched her body.

Valeda tried not to think of anything else during the soak. He only counted his breaths in rhythm. No one bothered him in enjoying his warm water, until the sound of the door of his apartment being pounded on someone.

Valeda sat up straight in shock. He waited a while to make sure that it was true that the door was the door of his apartment.

A DUG! A DUG! A DUG!

The voice sounded back. Valeda got up and grabbed a kimono-shaped towel hanging on the wall of her bathroom. He immediately put on the kimono, then went to the front door.

Valeda turned on the monitor to see who was behind the door. "Daniel?" He did not believe what he saw. Valeda was happy with Daniel's presence, and was upset because of yesterday's incident on campus.

Valeda turned on the voice function and decided to talk to Daniel without opening the door. "What's wrong?" valeda asked in a cold voice.

Daniel gasped when he heard Valeda's voice. "Valeda's? Is that really you?" tanyakanya. Daniel's face panicked.

"Yes. Its me. Why the hell?" Valeda did not understand why Daniel looked so panicked.

Daniel took a breath. He leaned against the door, as if his strength had evaporated. "I waited for you in under an hour. It's past your hour to go to the office, but the guy downstairs doesn't see you coming out and Kris is there with me."

"La... Then?"

"I think something happened to you. So, I ran quickly through the emergency stairs over here and wanted to check on you" Daniel continued.

"Daniel!" Chris is seen running after Daniel. "Crazy! You run so fast!" Kris fell down next to Daniel with a pale face and gasped breath.

"Valeda is okay" Daniel said with a smile apologizing to Kris.

"Well! Hah, huh, I know, huh, huh!" Kris is still bored. "When I run, huh, huh, I get a call from Celine, huh, huh, huh, huh, huh, if Valeda takes a sudden leave."

Valeda's face was red. Daniel ran through the emergency staircase to the eighth floor just because he didn't give any news. It makes Valeda flower.

"Kris, you're off duty for today. Go home!" valeda's orders.

"No-Miss, huh, huh, at least a glass of water?" Kris still has trouble controlling his breathing.

Valeda feels sorry for Kris who looks almost fainted from running after Daniel. He decided to open the door and let Kris sip a glass of water.

"Come in" Valeda opened the door.

"You're in!" Daniel pushed Valeda back in and immediately closed the door behind him.

"Hey! I'm still outside!" exclaim Kris.

"Why can't I come in?" kris Protest. "Did something happen?"

"There's nothing. Go!" daniel answered and closed the door.

"What's up, Dan?" valeda asked confused by Daniel's attitude.

Daniel looked at her with a cold look. "How dare you just wear a towel like this to meet men" replied Daniel.

Valeda lowered his head, looking at his bath kimono. "But I don't think it's too open."

Daniel lowered his face to the same level as Valeda's. "Behind that towel, you're not wearing a thread, are you?" whispered Daniel. "If I manage to remove the towel, will you be able to escape the savage lust of men?"

"W-what!?" Valeda clasped his towel tightly. "There's no way Kris or you would think that way of me!"

Daniel wiped his hair back with reddened ears. "You tested my patience?" tanyanya, then clasped Valeda's arm. "Never use a towel like this!"

Valeda. He doesn't understand what he's feeling. Daniel's hand burned his arm. Valeda returned Daniel's gaze without a fight. His mind was filled with Daniel's face.

Daniel bowed, landing a kiss on Valeda's neck. Valeda held her breath. Blood flowed to his head. There was a tickling sensation when Daniel's breath touched his skin.

"Daniel.." sighed Valeda when Daniel kissed his ear.

Daniel pulled away. His gaze became sharp even though his ears were reddened. "Have understood? If you have, go to your room and put your clothes on!" daniel's orders. He took off his grip. "I'll go now."

"Don't go!" Valeda caught Daniel's hand. "We need to talk. There are so many things I want to ask."

"If it's about this scar, I won't tell you anything" Daniel replied. "This scar has nothing to do with you. I just don't want to talk about it."

"Does that have anything to do with your father?" ask Valeda.

Daniel was silent for a moment, then shook his head. "No" he answered.

Valeda knew immediately that Daniel was lying. But he won't bring it up now. Daniel seems not so dangerous and there is nothing Daniel does to watch out for. "I'm going to change clothes. You wait for me here! We have breakfast together."

"But I've eaten. I'd better get to the office now" Daniel declined.

"I heard, your work is done. There's nothing you need to worry about, unless you want calls with your ex" Valeda said.

Daniel chuckled at Valeda's words. "You're jealous" Daniel said.

"No!" exclaim Valeda.

"I didn't ask. I'm making a statement that you're jealous right now" teased Daniel.

Valeda, upset that Daniel had dared to tease him, came forward and stopped when he was only a few inches away from Daniel. "If I'm jealous, what can you do to calm me down?" ask Valeda. "Isn't it your job to please me?"

Daniel filled his lungs with the scent of soap that Valeda used a few minutes ago. The fragrance of roses is intoxicating and capable of making Daniel lose his mind. "Well, who is this old enough to challenge me?"

"Adult?" Valeda rubbed Daniel's chest slowly. "Am I nothing compared to Diamond's molecular body? My body doesn't make anyone interested."

Daniel takes Valeda's hand, then kisses him. He glanced at Valeda with a sharp look. "Don't go further than this. You're not ready."
