59. Rival or Love

Valeda looked at Daniel's face as he fell asleep. Her eyes were swollen from crying too much. He must be tired of everything that happened today.

Valeda glanced at his watch. The clock shows at eleven o'clock at night. Cahya has just finished surgery and is currently still under the influence of painkillers. Meanwhile, Wahyu, enter the ICU room and the clock is over.

Valeda brushed Daniel's hair, making Daniel move restlessly in his bed. "You're living a hard life" Valeda murmured. He then stood up and decided to leave from Cahya's inpatient room. They need a lot of rest tonight.

While passing through the hospital hallway, the phone in his bag chanted Valeda's favorite song, indicating someone contacted him. Valeda picked up the phone immediately. "Hello, Cel, what's up?" greet Valeda.

"There's something strange, Val," Celine replied half in a whisper.

Valeda stopped walking. He was sitting on one of the chairs in the hospital hallway. "What problem?"

"I'll get to the point straight away" Celine said. "The man who hit Daniel's three younger brothers, died in prison. According to my friend who works in the police, he drank poison to kill himself."

"I guess he killed himself because he felt guilty for hitting three people drunk?" terkah Valeda's.

"Most likely like that. There is no evidence to substantiate the reasons for suicide. My friend said, that's pretty suspicious."

Valeda frowned. In fact, he did not believe the news of the suicide completely. "What's suspicious?" ask Valeda.

"According to the cellmate of the perpetrator, there is no compelling reason to do so," Celine replied in a soft tone. "In fact, the perpetrator was very happy and accepted his fate of being in prison."

Valeda gave a glance. He made sure no one was eavesdropping on him. "He's happy?" ask Valeda to make sure.

"I'm sure of what I heard. The man even told his family to some of his friends in custody" Celine explained. "Is it possible, a person who intends to die, to say such things?"

Valeda. "There is something to hide" whispered Valeda. "Find out what it is soon. Tell me what really happened."

"Yes, I get it" Celine replied.

Valeda hung up. He needs to think for a moment. Something's wrong here. 'Some one killed Yano, '" Inner Valeda.

"Love!"

Valeda was surprised to hear Rangga's voice. Valeda swallowed his saliva with great difficulty. He made sure that no sound came out as he thought earlier. Valeda doesn't want anyone to know about the thing he's been investigating with Celine, even if it's Rangga.

"It turns out you're here" Rangga sat next to Valeda.

"Why are you here?" ask Valeda.

"I was waiting for you in your apartment, but Abrah said, you haven't returned yet" replied Rangga. "So, I asked Kris and she told me there was an accident. Then, I found you here."

"Ooh.." That's all that came out of Valeda's mouth. He did not know how to respond to Rangga. There was no way he could talk about the painful events that happened to Yano or Daniel's other sisters.

"Have you eaten?" ask Rangga.

Valeda nodded, although only three spoons of rice entered his mouth. "I'm just coming home."

Rangga circulated the view. "Is Daniel not with you?" ask Rangga.

"He was resting while accompanying his sister who had just finished surgery." Valeda got up from his seat. "I'm going home now. You better go home, too."

"Let me deliver," Rangga bargained while standing.

Valeda nodded again to answer, then he led the way towards the parking lot. Valeda chose silence. He did not know what kind of talk he had to make to melt the atmosphere.

Rangga who aligns his steps beside Valeda, as if to understand with the eternal that Valeda experienced. Rangga walked in silence. Letting Valeda sink into her own thoughts.

Valeda crossed his arms in front of his chest. A man named Adimas who came to lunch with him, has explained the chronology that happened to the perpetrators of the accident involving the three brothers Daniel.

Adimas is Celine's friend who works in the police force. Celine deliberately brought together Valeda and Adimas to discuss this issue. Incidentally, Adimas is the type of person who quickly gets along with others and has many friends. It was not difficult for him to get information from anyone.

Since the beginning of their conversation, Valeda has been able to guess that Adimas is an easy person to like. He's good at making Valeda comfortable to talk to him in no time.

"Yes, I think so too" Valeda confirmed. "Where might the man who thought of dying turn into a suicide?"

Adimas smiled slightly while shaking his head. "That's not what I meant" said Adimas. He leaned over the table, in order to get closer to Valeda.

Valeda bowed to the table. "Then what?" ask Valeda.

"Why is there poison there?" adimas whisper.

Valeda did not blink hearing Adimas' statement. He tried to think of all the possibilities, but cases like this he had never met. "To..why?" tanyanya slow.

Adimas widened his smile. "Someone gave it to the perpetrator" he hissed.

"Please explain in more detail" Valeda pinta.

"So, before the perpetrator enters the holding cell, of course, all kinds of objects belonging to the perpetrator will be held separately. Any item will not be able to enter along with the perpetrator. If the perpetrator carries some kind of poison, the police will know. But the perpetrator instead died after ingesting the poison" Adimas explained.

Valeda's eyebrows are wrinkled. "You mean, did someone kill the perpetrator?" ask Valeda.

Adimas was excited. "Some tried to silence the mouth of the perpetrator" Adimas said.

"For what?" valeda's voice vibrates. He was horrified by the possibility that Adimas had said.

Adimas shrugged his shoulders. "It can be for many reasons." Adimas fixed his sitting position. "Celine told me, the accident involved Miss's boyfriend?"

Valeda. Hearing the statement that Daniel is her boyfriend, Valeda's heart speeds up for a few seconds. "Yes, you're right. His other brothers said that Daniel had many enemies."

"Ck, ck, ck," Adimas clucked in disbelief. "I understand that he wants to protect the orphanage. Before meeting Miss, she must have worked very hard to protect her sisters there. But now everything is confusing. Whether the person who harmed her sister was the one who hated her or because of Miss herself."

Valeda pointed at him. "Me?" ask Valeda.

Adimas nodded with confidence. "Didn't Miss take these kinds of things into account? Let's just say, Miss's rival or the one who loves Miss?"

"Why did they do that to Daniel's brothers?"

"Don't be naive, miss," said Adimas slowly. He did not want to make the woman in front of him offended by her words. "You're dating Daniel. Daniel loved his brothers. Getting one or two of his brothers hurt will cause chaos in Daniel. Then, Miss will be affected."

"Continue!" valeda said when he saw Adimas opening his mouth, but closing it again.

"The advantage that your rivals get, is the decline in performance that Miss gives," replied Adimas. "Then, the advantages gained from people who love you—"

"Stop!" valeda's orders. Not knowing why, he shuddered because he knew what the continuation of Adimas' sentence was. Because of that sentence, Valeda could not help but be suspicious of his family.
