FORBIDDEN TO FALL IN LOVE

FORBIDDEN TO FALL IN LOVE
60. Fear

Valeda returned to his office after a discussion with Adimas. He could not refute anything Adimas said, because everything was true. Valeda sat in his chair, looked up, and looked up at the ceiling of his office, which was pure white. The reflection of the light made Valeda's eyes glare.

“What should I do?” he muttered to himself.

Valeda is an influential person. He has things that most other people don't have. But, compared to Mr. Suherman or Mrs Emely, Valeda is nothing. Valeda will lose in just one hand.

“No. If I use dirty ways like they did to Daniel, how is it different from me?” Valeda tried to think rationalists, but such a mindset would clearly defeat him.

Geck! Geck! Geck!

Valeda sat up straight in his chair. He wondered who was coming at this hour. Valeda has no appointments with anyone today. He deliberately emptied his schedule to meet with Adimas. While Celine is still in a meeting outside and Kris is picking her up after driving Valeda back to the office.

“If this is Papa or Mama..” Valeda rise from his seat. The anger took hold of him for a moment. Valeda tried to restrain himself. He took a deep breath, then exhaled slowly before saying, “in!”

Valeda's anger evaporated as soon as he saw Lucas emerge from behind his office door. “Hai, Val, sorry I interrupted,” greet Lucas from the doorway.

Valeda moved towards her guest sofa and gestured for Lucas to sit down with her. “Please, Brother,” he said give permission.

“I think it will be difficult to meet you, because you are a busy person,” Lucas said as he sat in front of Valeda.

“I have told the front office, anyone who is free to meet me, because Brother Lucas is my ally,” Valeda replied with a smile. “What did Brother Lucas look for me here?”

“I heard from Daniel and his sisters. It's not good if I go straight to the hospital without preparation. So I went to see you. How's it going?” Ask Lucas.

Valeda shook his head slowly with a wry face. “You. Everything is really messed up,” whispered Valeda. He rubbed his forehead. The shadow of Yano's face with an ice-cold body lying on the ER bed, again flashed across his head.

“What really happened?”

Valeda returned Lucas's gaze and looked at his eyes fixedly. He wanted to make sure that Lucas was really on his side, instead of being a spy for his parents. “Accident,”Valeda replied finally.

“Accident?” reset Lucas.

Valeda. “Three of Daniel's sisters were hit by a drunk while crossing the street.”

“What? How can?”

“We can't predict accidents.” Valeda decided to shut up. It was too early for him to decide who his friends were and who his opponents were. Right now, he has to focus on tightening up the guard at the orphanage for Daniel's sake.

“Gosh...” Lucas leaned on the sofa. “Then, what about his three younger siblings?”

“One of his men died.”

Lucas' eyes widened. Horror emanated from his black eyeballs. “Not possible,” deny.

“I saw it myself,” added Valeda. “But, two others were saved.”

Lucas breathed a sigh of relief. “Thank God you have that hospital,” he said in a grateful tone.

“Although not my hospital, surely other medical personnel will do the same,” Valeda refuted.

“Can I visit them tonight?” ask Lucas.

“One of them is still in ICU. Only Daniel I let in. But, Brother Lucas can visit his sister who is in the usual inpatient room. I'll tell Daniel that Brother Lucas is going there.”

Lucas nodded. “Thank you, Val.”

Lucas nodded quickly. “Say! Anything!” the answer.

“I want Kak Lucas to tell me what Papa and Mama are doing when Kak Lucas will return home tomorrow.”

Lucas nodded again. “Good. That easy. But, what for?”

“Sister Lucas doesn't need to know,” says Valeda.

Lucas did not open his mouth again to force Valeda to say what the reason was for acting that way. Lucas stood up and nodded once to retreat.

Valeda threw his gaze out the window of his room, looking up at the sky that was seen close by from there. The blue of the sky without the slightest cloud, made Valeda feel somewhat sad. It was as if the sky was laughing above his heartbreak. Valeda knew that feeling was futile. But, he wanted someone to take the blame for the mess that was happening.

Valeda opened the door to Daniel's sister's hospital room, located on the fifth floor of her hospital. He deliberately gave the most comfortable room so that Daniel could rest peacefully with his sister.

“Hai, Val,” greet Daniel. He still looks as lethargic as yesterday. Her eye bags are so thick from crying too much.

“How are you?” ask Valeda.

Daniel smiled wryly. “It's not me you should ask,” he replied. “By the way, Brother Lucas came earlier.”

Valeda. “I cross paths with him under.”

“Sorry, I should be here for the show tomorrow.”

Valeda walked up to Daniel and sat down next to him. “Do not think about anything else first! Focus on your sisters.”

Daniel took a long breath. “Thank you. I promise to—”

Valeda quickly closed Daniel's mouth with his hand. “Thank you, that's enough,” replied Valeda.

He looked towards the bed. Cahya's eyes closed. Valeda saw a blood bag connected to Cahya's hand through an infusion tube. Apparently Cahya got the transfusion after the surgery yesterday. “Is there anything wrong with your two sisters?” ask Valeda.

Daniel shakes. “Seems not. The specialist doctor who handled my sister gave a good explanation, so I understood enough with the condition of Cahya and Wahyu. Cahya only needed two bags of transfusion blood because she lost a lot of blood yesterday. Besides, she's safe.”

“How about Revelation?”

“He is not yet conscious. The doctor said, at the earliest he will respond in five to seven days,” Daniel replied in a raucous voice. She almost cried again.

Valeda bit her lower lip. Fear suddenly appeared and took control of his mind. Actually, he wanted to tell Daniel about all the possibilities Adimas told him about last afternoon. However, Valeda himself became afraid that it would make Daniel hate him.

Indeed, Daniel once said that he would accept all the consequences that happened by agreeing to his contract with Valeda. But, didn't the death of one of his younger siblings backfire for Valeda himself? Valeda knows very well how Daniel loves all his sisters in the orphanage. If Valeda was the reason this happened, Daniel could not possibly forgive him.

“What's up?” daniel asked suddenly, making Valeda aware of his daydream. “Why are you silent? You want to tell me something? Do we need to talk outside?”

Valeda shook his head quickly. “No. It'sit's nothing. I was just daydreaming earlier,” the lie. “Have you had dinner? Want to eat with me?” tawar Valeda's.
