Valeda leaned back in her chair while rereading the newspaper today. A sweet smile on her red lips. Today, his mood is good.
The newspaper in his hand he had read many times. He even memorized what was written about him in the paper.
As he had expected, the bonfire event last night would be great news today. News of how she accepted an ordinary man to be her lover. Not until there, he even received the entire orphanage without exception.
Valeda put the newspaper on the table. A crazy idea flashed through his head to frame an article about him from the newspaper.
"Celine," call Valeda.
Celine, who was sitting on the sofa tidying up the files, looked up because her name was called Valeda. "Why?"
"There are three children in the Orphanage of the Rising Sun who will go to college. Can I do something?" ask Valeda.
Celine stuffed the file she had tidied into the black bag she always carried. "Three kids got that scholarship?" Celine sure.
"Yes, they are" replied Valeda.
"Maybe facilitation of things that are not covered by the scholarships they receive?" celine Moves.
Valeda rubbed his pointed chin. "Make a team to find out what they need and what their activities are. I can't let everything be taken care of by you" Valeda ordered.
"OK, easy," said Celine. "You going home now?"
Valeda glanced at his watch at a glance. "Come on!" he answered while standing because he saw the clock was showing at six in the afternoon.
"Mmm, Val..."
Valeda raised his eyebrows, seeing Celine looking down with a red face. "What's wrong? You sick?" ask Valeda.
"Bu-no," Celine replied nervously. "Mmm, can I come with your car?"
"Huh? Why ask everything? Don't you come along often?" Valeda doesn't understand. "It's strange that you're not with me, but our apartment is in the same direction."
Celine moved uneasily, making Valeda even more clueless. "A... Is our job done this time?"
"Celine," Valeda said softly. "You don't talk in circles like now. You're just wasting your time, 'cause I won't understand."
Celine still looked a bit nervous after hearing that. "Look... I have an appointment for dinner with someone." Celine said slowly.
"With Kris?" terka Valeda fast.
Celine bit her lower lip, then smiled shyly. His face was as red as a boiled crab.
"Haha!" Valeda was stunned to hear his best friend who like to admit that he wet his pants. "Since the beginning I've said that I agree with your relationship, right?"
"But, if there's still work that hasn't been done, I can cancel my dinner" Celine said hurriedly. From the beginning, he had promised Valeda to dedicate himself to the job and Celine wanted to keep it.
Valeda pulled out her smartphone and contacted someone. Celine made him stand still for three seconds. "Kris" said Valeda as soon as the phone was picked up. "Today there's no need to take me home. Have fun!" Valeda hung up the phone as soon as she finished talking.
"Val, don't be like that!" whine Celine. "It's still six in the afternoon. Chris can take you home first."
Valeda can't let her friend look ordinary for a date, let alone with Kris. Valeda had wanted to see the two friends together. It would be nice to see them together, and then Valeda would have cute nieces.
"Hihihi," Valeda giggles, amused herself with her imagination that imagines Kris and Celine getting married and having cute kids.
He got into the elevator, then pressed the ground floor button. Valeda leaned against the elevator wall while the elevator continued moving down. It only took three minutes for him to reach the ground floor, because the office was quiet and there was no stopping the pace of the elevator.
Valeda did not directly order a taxi or online invitation as he usually did if Kris was idle, but walked slowly enjoying the afternoon breeze.
The sun has sunk in the Western horizon of the world, leaving only a tinge of orange color in the sky. Beautiful romantic colors if you are in love.
Valeda moved his legs step by step. His heel throbbed pain because he had already walked far enough by using high heels.
He stopped at a bus stop. Valeda sat down to rest and straightened his legs. There was no one around waiting for the bus to arrive. Valeda leaned back in the long chair and closed her eyes. He enjoyed the gusts of wind and the boisterous sound of passing vehicles in front of him.
Not long ago Valeda was sitting at the stop, the sound of the horn made her jump in shock. Valeda turned here and there to look for the source of the sound.
A pick up car stopped in front of Valeda. From the open window, Daniel raised his head. "Val, what are you doing here?" greet Daniel.
Valeda stood up and approached Daniel who was still in the car. "I'm out for a walk" replied Valeda. He looked at Daniel again. "ah! Your jacket!" Valeda just remembered about Daniel's jacket, because now Daniel wears the same hat he wore the other day while helping Valeda.
"Not to think about it" said Daniel. "You want to go home now? Where is Kris?" Daniel dyed looking for the invisible figure of Kris.
"He's on a date with Celine." Valeda glanced at the box pick up that Daniel was carrying. "Where are you from?"
"Greens drawer," Daniel answered briefly. His black eyes looked at Valeda unblinkingly, making Valeda hold her breath involuntarily. "Your feet look tired. Can I take you to your apartment?"
Valeda nodded, then turned to sit next to Daniel. The smell of fresh vegetables affects Valeda's mood as well as her rumbling stomach.
"Have you eaten?" daniel asked while stepping on the gas pedal.
"No, not yet" replied Valeda.
"I have time to make you dinner" Daniel said. "May I stop by?"
"Can!" replied Valeda enthusiastically. Daniel's offer made his stomach react even more, struggling to be fed. "You cook. You are also good at finance. If you go to school again, what would you like to study?"
"Hmmm..." Daniel thought for a moment. "Both are equally beneficial to me. Which one do you think?" Daniel asked back.
"Take both, will you?" tawar Valeda's. "I've formed a special team to take care of what the orphanage kids need. They'll report to both of us, so you can make sure that your brothers' needs are met perfectly."
Daniel caught Valeda's hand. He glanced at her while smiling. "Thanks to you, my brothers' lives are assured. I'll do anything to repay your kindness."
Valeda swallowed his saliva with great difficulty. His throat was choked, making his voice unable to come out. His heart is beating unbecoming.
'True Kris said, Daniel's smile was dangerous, ' Valeda's inner self.
