The night was getting late and the guests one by one moved away. But I didn't do that. I'm going home and choosing to stay here. Gio has called the police and he has also repeatedly insisted on going home. The man tried desperately to ask me to come home because he thought my existence here was also not immediately able to make his sister return.
His attitude like that made me even more bitter to stay here. I want to know when the police came and how they solved the case.
"If in 5 minutes they haven't arrived here. I'll be out for Aretta!"
I was still pacing back and forth in front of Gio and Ana who were hugging each other. Ana was even crying. The woman looked frightened and worried about Aretta's situation.
A shadow about the incident flashed through my head. B*******what kind of dares to do that? Why Arreta? A lot of people who came to the grand opening event and why should the girl I love who was affected by the case.
I keep staring at the clock. Waiting for the arrival of the police who had not even heard the sound of siren until now.5 minutes later two uniformed police officers entered the store with slightly disheveled faces.
"We came because we had reports of a kidnapping. Is true?" They asked hesitantly. I who did not want to waste any more time immediately explained every detail of the incident I saw earlier. About the license plate, about how the kidnapper hit Aretta in the neck, also the incident that night was no exception.
After recording all the details of the story that came out of my mouth, they left and promised to call us the next morning. Gio volunteered to make me a warm drink, but that's not what I need right now. I told them I was going for a walk out. I can't just sit here while Aretta is in danger. And again the man I saw was huge. That girl couldn't possibly fight herself.
I wandered around the neighborhood that Aretta had been in. Start from the store and walk to the parking lot where B2402UI cars are parked. I walked all the way until the sunlight began to rise in the eastern horizon. My days will turn bright, if I can find Aretta sooner.
When I found her, I promised to take her to the beach and enjoy the sunset and sunrise together. We will both sit on the beach cloth while enjoying the waves and the approaching tide. After that we will play water together while chasing with scattered laughter.
I rested myself on the bench, trying to stop the tears that were about to flow.
"For your face. Any issues?" I turned my head and found the God standing beside me.
"It's just a little problem" I replied without strength.
He chuckled softly, "It's like me. I hope your problem is resolved soon. If that's what I'm going to do first, find breakfast for my new boyfriend."
I really don't care what happens to him. Especially her love story. But I still nodded and smiled as a mere courtesy. I saw God walking into the shop while rubbing the back of his neck. His steps looked stiff.
I decided to go back to the store. Not when Aretta hasn't been found. The shop was where she first came from and I had to be there to see that she was okay.
A thumping sound made me look. I turned around and found God struggling to lift the box of juice he dropped on the sidewalk. From a distance his behavior was very funny to see a man who was struggling to carry groceries in the condition of his injured neck. If only my mood was good, I would have laughed even if I had run there to help him.
I still see it from a distance. The god walked to his car, which was far away from where I was standing.
For a moment the voice around me was not heard. I even had to blink my eyes many times to see what I saw. It feels impossible and hard to believe. The writing was very vague, so I muttered to myself if what I saw was wrong. I know the figure of a God is a human who is able to do bad things to get what he wants. He also talked about a new girlfriend. But that does not mean he dared to do that depraved thing to his own student.
To this extent many did not know about the group he had joined. Lately I have also never again heard of him on leave to go out of town or news of him lurking to strange places. Now he looks like he has a new hobby.
I ignored the God thing and went back down the street until my body brought my body back to the store. I looked around and tried to recall every detail of what happened that night. I strongly urged my brain to remember the shape of the shoulder and the harsh swearing sound that the man made when he hit Arreta.
But what I did produced absolutely nothing. Because in addition to my messed up thoughts I was also sleep deprived. I pray my head to the sky while enjoying the warmth of the sun that illuminates the world.
Where are you Arreta?
I stepped into the store and almost hit someone.
"Sorry," I murmured and immediately lowered my head many times. The shop today looks full. Even amidst this chaos, Gio remained professional by standing behind the counter to take orders.
"Lo what, anyway?" my tunes are wrathful, almost sounding like tantrums. At first she was without much worry, but once she saw the circle under my eyes and how it rolled my shoulders, Gio became sympathetic.
"We can't close for now, which is our business that will die. Mending lo go upstairs, run out of it shower. It's a mess."
I breathe out slowly. It's true what he said. If Aretta comes back and she comes in through the door, when I see her in this shape, I doubt she'll come near me. I followed Gio's instructions and trudged up the stairs to get to where they lived.
But it seems that my decision to enter their territory was the wrong choice. Because I can see traces of Aretta everywhere. The smell of shampoo she used, her favorite hoodie she put on the edge of the sofa, as well as a bedroom whose door was not closed. It all reminds me of that girl.
I tried to move and ignored all the delusions. Letting regrets fill my chest cavity. Only then did I finally manage to get into the bathroom without even once glancing into her bedroom.
I took a quick shower and decided to put on Gio's clothes which were in the pile of dry clothes.
Hot steam came out of the bathroom as soon as I opened the door. For a moment I let the fog disappear and after that I could immediately see Aretta's bedroom that I avoided. I could not ignore it anymore and slowly stepped towards that place. I laid my body there and drowned in the blanket and the pillow. I can still smell hers left on the pillow when I lay my body down.
A single tear slid down my cheek and disappeared in his pillowcase when he landed. The pain of losing Aretta was the biggest blow.
Where are you Aretta?
