I rushed towards the bathroom leaving Aidan glued to his place. I cleaned myself up and got out as soon as I finished.
I walked straight back to the room I used last night. The used clothes I wore yesterday were clean and now neatly arranged on the bed. I smiled at Aidan's kindness. He didn't have to wash my clothes but he volunteered to do it. I'm used to washing myself because all my homework is done.
"What are you saying is that smile isn't so obvious?" aidan's voice was clearly behind me. He stood in the doorway with his arms out, showing his bicep muscles that stood out behind his work shirt.
"Your question is strange, why would I smile? There is no law against smiling, "I challenge. He chuckled softly but looked furious. I was still watching Aidan who now looked at his watch.
"Your clothes seem to be shrinking, because I eventually put them in the dryer," he said, apparently he was upset because of the problem. Aidan looked like a little boy who asked to be scolded for making a mistake, but how could I do that when he was so kind as to let me stay here, plus he also paid the hospital fee and also provided me with food.
"It's okay, besides I don't like the boss either," I said reassuringly, "but I have other problems I don't bring the school uniform with me as I'm not in the room to change," I said. Aidan immediately threw his face to the side as I said about the women's underwear. Is there something wrong with my words? I just said what I needed.
It turned out that Aidan was still an adult man who easily blushed with a slightly more mature chat. He turned towards his room and returned with a paper totebag. Aidan handed the stuff to me.
"This is your school uniform. Inside were underwear and sweaters because the weather was cold. I hope you'll wear the sweater, baby." I laughed loudly at Aidan's words and immediately grabbed the side of my body that was hurting from a broken bone.
"You why? Still sore?" he asked quickly, "I don't mean to make you feel sick." He looked worried when he looked at me.
"It's okay I'm just not careful. Thank you, Aidan."
"We leave in 20 minutes" he said, closing the door and walking away.
Twenty minutes later he came back and knocked on the door.
"Aretta?" call him in a low voice, "let's go. You have a Geography replay in the first hour" he recalled. I took a slow breath and immediately got out of bed. Grab my bag and open the door.
Aidan was ready in his teacher's uniform and we walked to his car. I immediately jumped into the passenger seat. I used to sit there.
"Wouldn't you take me home first?" I was full of hope when he started driving his car.
I slightly lowered my head while squeezing my hands, "i'll take a textbook, just as I haven't put on makeup yet" I replied slowly.
"I'll give you 10 minutes no more. I will come in if more than that and mastiin does not happen something to you," he said while gripping the steering wheel.
"What the hell are you talking about." I said trying to hide my surprise.
"Why can you be that relaxed Aretta?" Aidan growled, "I already know what happened to you even though you didn't tell me. I took you to the hospital, so don't think I'm not as sensitive as what happened to you."
I did not dare to argue. Aidan was right even so I couldn't say clearly about it.
The rest of the journey home ended in silence. I looked at Aidan from the rearview and his face was very flat. His hands were still clenched in the steering wheel of the car and he still seemed to be holding back emotions. We finally arrived at my house. I immediately ran outside but Aidan's voice interrupted, "I'll be in in 10 minutes."
I just rolled my eyes in response. He was overprotective of people he had just met.
I entered the house and was immediately greeted by a gripping silence. There is no sound of running shower water or the sound of a boiling kettle, meaning that there is no one at home. I felt calm because I would be safe for now plus Aidan was also waiting outside.
I immediately stepped into my room and avoided the creaking ceramics making a sound when stepped on. Mama has sharp hearing, such a small sound can make her go berserk and result in me getting an attack from her.
Not every day like that because sometimes when Mama is drunk heavily he will not realize if the sound of the floor is creaking. But because I'm used to being careful, it doesn't bother me.
I walked down the hallway that would lead me to my room. There are no photos on display except for photos belonging to Gio whose edges have been torn. The photo was taken when he was 12 years old and won a football race. I don't know Gio at all. We may indeed be brothers and live in the same place, but our relationship cannot be called that. Me and him really have a rarity that's hard to put together. I don't even know what her hobbies are, if she has a boyfriend, or how she lives. We live like strangers.
Gio and I used to be very familiar.it was when Papa was still with us.Don't ask what happened afterwards because you can guess. I really wanted to get back to Gio, but it must have been impossible. Moreover, I always have to sneak around at home for fear of getting caught. I'm like this how I can get back on good terms with Gio.
I got in front of my room and opened the door. Everything was the same as it was before I left home. A sense of relief instantly filled my mind. I still remember my room once ended up in a mess and a few million of my savings were gone too. I don't know who did it like that but it definitely left me with my own fears. But one thing is certain, even so I will never report this to anyone.
I immediately covered and stared at the schedule before preparing all the textbooks. Aidan only gave me 10 minutes and I had to hurry up so he wouldn't come down and come into the house.
