I agreed to help Aretta and Gio move in. After knowing how their family was doing, I never once closed my eyes. Having toxic parents is very disturbing to mental growth and it happens to Aretta who is very shut off from people. No doubt indeed, the role of home conditions is the most important factor for growth and development.
I waited for their phone while spending time with Davin. We watch matches together while occasionally chatting about everyday life or talking about women. A typical man's chat isn't far from it.
When I was about to bite my second slice of pizza, my phone rang. I could feel his humming because I put it in my pants pocket. I was expecting a call from Gio or Aretta, but the deal wasn't this fast. I quickly grabbed my pants and Gio's id call was plastered there.
My stomach suddenly became nauseous and I was grateful that I had not eaten much pizza. The worry was raised which suddenly made me press the call dial to answer Gio's call. I also immediately moved from my seat to look for my wallet and car keys that I put carelessly earlier.
I haven't had time to greet Gio when the sound of crying and and screams greet me first. The sound intertwined and managed to make me petrified.
"Please me!" Gio shouted in panic. He was also most likely already crying.
"Gue walk now," I said reassuring him and trying to give him strength so he wouldn't panic too much. I immediately closed the unilateral call and immediately moved without wanting to waste any time after I found my car keys. I let out a deep sigh as I began to step towards the door and try to find my sanity since Gio could only rely on me in the current situation.
"Where are you going?" davin's voice stopped my steps when I was about to leave without saying goodbye. I can only say one name and hope he understands it on his own without needing me to explain.
"Aretta's."
I stepped back and this time I drove my car at full speed. I know this is the wrong thing because after all, the people who use the streets are not just me, there are other drivers who want safety for themselves. But unfortunately I can't think clearly because Gio's stuffing voice and screams still haunt me. I'm afraid something happened to Aretta.
What the hell is going on?
How did that happen?
Is she okay?
The question kept dancing in my brain. I can't help but worry because of that woman.
I don't know if it really has anything to do with Aretta, it's just that she always manages to keep me out of her way. I got to his house and immediately barged in to make sure that he was okay. Even when I parked the car I almost hit a neighbor's car because I was impatient.
My steps grew faster as soon as I heard the sound of sobs from inside his house. I approached and the voice of the person pleading for the figure to wake up became clearer.
I was about to step out again because of this terrible mess, but I stopped immediately as Gio moved and he turned around and found me there. I could see Aretta lying on the floor in a fetal-like position protecting her.
Gio immediately moved quickly towards me as soon as he saw me.
"Please help me, Dan." Gio looked very panicked as he again tried to wake Aretta up. He even shook the woman's body violently. I immediately approached and knelt down, forgetting the blood splattered on the floor. Gio stopped shaking and he observed my reaction.
Aretta's blood spilled out of her lips. The part of his cheek was already a deep purple bruise with a red welt surrounding him. His eyelids were already perfectly closed and there was not even any movement. Tears filled my eyes. It's so awful and it's worked to piss me off.
"What's going on?" sue Gio and immediately wipe my tears to help him calm down. Gio didn't answer me straight away and he just pointed at his mother who was already motionless near the bed.
"Aretta provoked Mama and Mama did not accept. Mama kicked, yelled, and punched Aretta. Please Aidan, help Aretta!" Gio had started to calm down a bit and he managed to explain what had happened to me.
"Everything's gonna be fine, Gi. Believe me the same. Aretta is a tough woman," I assured her, "but I want to know, she fainted from being hit in the head or from excessive pain?" I asked him to calmly interrogate him. Trying to get a definite answer about the condition of this woman.
"I think it's because of the pain. As I'm done tying Mama to him, Aretta's eyes are starting to close."
I nodded and told her back that Aretta would be fine and that she wouldn't be too serious either.
I watched Aretta again and the woman was still breathing with a breath that did not sound heavy.
it'll be fine and it can't be too serious. I noticed he was still breathing and his breathing didn't seem too heavy. But as I looked at the beautiful girl lying on the frozen wooden floor, I prayed that she would be fine.
I guess I'll be fine. Actuallyno. I can't stand to see him like that. I miss Aretta who laughs happily with her pretty face. It was not her who looked fragile and could not endure. I'm sorry I wasted so much time. I should have taken immediate action once I found him helpless yesterday. I was too obedient and too trusting that his family was okay. The Aretta family is devastated, even worse. I don't want to leave him alone anymore. Even if I have to cross the line between teacher and student, I will. To me, this woman is a very meaningful figure. I will take care of her and wait for her until she is ready and open her heart to me.
There are many things I have created in my imagination. I want to hold it and spend the weekend hugging each other. Then relax together in the warm morning sun while joking with a joke occasionally throwing jokes of no quality to color the day.
I want Aretta.
I really want that woman.
