Aretta & Secrets

Aretta & Secrets
The rage in front of Gio

The best part of the vacation was, I didn't need to meet with Mr. God. I can also stop wearing loose clothes and wearing the clothes I want without fear of getting a scornful look from others. I also no longer had any threats from Jessica, the woman ended up drifting away and not the morning made me feel uncomfortable. Maybe he is trying to spend time with Mr. God who incidentally has many mistresses. Or maybe the woman knows that I don't have the weird relationship she thinks I have with the Lord. But whatever it is, I feel very grateful for this situation.

But my problem does not only revolve around the Lord. I still have Mama who poses the biggest threat to me.

Gio and I had to move, but before that we both had to make sure Mama wasn't home when we left. Both me and Gio, both avoided Mama from causing drama when we were about to leave. And when the move happened Mama didn't have the right to interfere because we were out first.

Gio and Aidan had already decided that we would move in at night. According to them it was the most fitting time because at that time Mama must have come out either to gamble or drunk.

Gio and I are still home. We locked ourselves in our room and waited for Mama to leave. Until at last we heard the sound of the door coming out that was slammed strongly indicating he left, we both immediately rushed to clean up the goods and ourselves. We only had a few hours until Mama came home. It was a free zone that we needed so much.

Gio and I have prepared boxes that will carry our goods, only if we prepare them from the beginning Mama will be suspicious.

Aidan himself will come later to help us move. He also plans to bring a transport car that can take my reot bed to a new home.

I finished first compared to Gio, after all the items I wanted to bring were not too many either. I immediately stacked all the boxes into one.

"Have you finished yet?" I shouted while staring at the clock on the wall. It was 8:30 p.m. Just in case we were going to leave early because Mama would usually be kicked out of the bar if she was already too drunk or out of money to gamble.

"A little while." He shouted back to me in a panicked voice. I just nodded and hurried to move into the kitchen to look for items that I could possibly carry.

All the items in the kitchen belonged to Mama even though she never used them. It's just that if I think about taking her stuff away, it's certain that Mama will get more angry and she won't let us off that easily. But I don't care because Mama also has an item she never realized she had. I'll bring those things.

I took out some equipment that Mama never used. After all, Mama will also not be aware if there are things that are missing because what I take are things that are old. Compared to Mama, we both need this equipment more.

It is certain that Mama will also not use this equipment because Mama would prefer to use a container of used fast food that I usually leave on the outside shelf.

I smiled, feeling like I was getting revenge because my money was floating around with no elites just because of Mama's reckless desire. I pulled the bowl from another cupboard and loaded it into a box that was almost full. I went back around the kitchen and looked for items bought with my money. I also found a pile of new blankets, pillows and bolsters in the other corner. I quickly pulled all of it in order to fill our new home.

"Aretta!" Gio shouted loudly from his room. I immediately ran upstairs carrying the last box. I found Gio who looked messed up. He looked at me with a pleading look.

"Help me!" the cry was weak, "just don't need to be machined," he said and I nodded in understanding. We both packed up to make it faster.

But it seems that our movement was not fast enough as a thud from the slammed door rang out loud from downstairs. Footsteps that echoed up the stairs also made our movement suddenly stopped.

That's Mama.

Gio immediately put down the item he had cleaned up earlier. He also stood up carefully so as not to make a sound. His face displayed emotions of worry and fear. He moved towards the door to secure us, but he tripped over the box which made his body fall down. If it was in my usual state, I would have laughed out loud, but not in the condition now. Where Mama was climbing the stairs with staggered steps.

Gio froze in place and tried to remain silent. But luck is not on our side. As he sat down, his phone rang and made the sound of his footsteps grow faster. Gio fumbled to turn off his phone along with the sound of increasingly rapid footsteps. Gio again tried to close the door, but the sound of footsteps grew faster.

Then the sound of footsteps stopped.

My mother stood in front of us. He looked at us sharply with perfect glaring eyes. His mouth gaped at the scene in Gio's room and he immediately lifted the box and made Gio's belongings scattered on the floor.

"Where are you going?" Mama asked. He tried to hold back his anger at Gio considering that the man was his favorite child. Gio panicked and he became stuttering.

"Ah, that-" even after she grew up she still didn't face Mama.

"We want to go," cut me off quickly and made Gio look at me with a look of disbelief.

"Why can't I go? I can go wherever I want."

Mama took another step forward.

"You will never be able to talk! I love everything. I give you so many things. You think I'm gonna let you guys step out of the gospel house? First your Papa's gone. Now you want to follow too? Want to be a bad boy?" Mama said that with a loud scream. He displayed a sad expression which then turned angry.

Mama took another step forward.

Now he stands just a few feet in front of me. I could smell the alcohol in his breath, as well as the smell of cigarette smoke clinging to his shirt.

"It was Mama's own fault. Just try not to cheat, Papa must still be here!." I ventured to reply. Gio who was behind me held my shoulder, asking me to stop provoking. But I'm not done yet.

"Mama love everything? Sure enough? Every day since Papa left Mama always hated me. Mama also often gave me a punishment that was hard to bear when I was a child. I can only feel life if I get out of this place. It's prison. Not a place worth living. This-"

As I thought. Mama wouldn't have possibly just stood there silently while receiving humiliation from me. To be honest, I was expecting my mom to be angry. Gio was already prepared if bad things happened. But before she could do anything, Mama had already raised her fist and pointed it straight at my cheek, carrying my jawbone. I heard an unnatural crackling sound, whether it was the sound produced by me or Mama's voice that disappeared.

A pain like fire spread and spread out from my cheek, causing my leg to limp. I fell to the floor and bowed.

"You ungrateful child!" Mama roared, "you dare to talk like that? I'm your Mama!"

I really hope this will be the last memory I face. I don't want to give up without a fight like before.

"You're not my mother." I said that while spitting blood onto his leg. I was surprised that there were teeth coming out of the pool of blood.

Mama looked at me for a moment. He couldn't believe I was that brave. I myself was still anticipating and the kick finally hit my stomach. I wonder where Gio was when I was beaten right in front of his face. My mind was also just spinning where he was, but I couldn't find his whereabouts because of the unbearable pain.

The kick stopped, but Mama still managed to deliver a tremendous blow and gave me gasps.

"Take off Mama Gio!" Mama started screaming, "you're Mama's son. You know best what his true nature is. You should've stayed on Mama's side." She screamed louder, even more than before.

"Yes Ma. Gio knows, but Mama doesn't know what Aretta really is." I opened my eyes a little to see what was going on. I saw Mama and Gio fighting each other, things I never imagined. He even dared to fight with Mama.

The situation lasted for 15 minutes, until Gio finally grabbed his belt and tied Mama to the foot of his bed. Mama screamed but Gio was stronger. The man didn't let Mama free that easily and Mama ended up with her hands tied. Because she still did not accept being treated like that, Mama started banging her crates into the bed. Maybe because of the effects of drunkenness, Mama can not last long. Finally he passed out just in my arms Alex! You're by my side! You know what he's like!" he shouted loudly, louder than before. "Yes Ma, I know what she looks like. But you obviously don't!" I opened my eyes slightly to see through the small gap. I saw him arguing with Mama and worse, Gio dared to tie Mama in his bed using his belt. All my age, only this time I saw Gio who dared to fight Mama.

Mama does not accept being treated badly by her favorite child. He fought hard to make his wrists flushed and injured, but it was not heeded by Gio. And worse, Mama even hit her head. Since there was no response from the two of us, Mama went crazy. In the end, Mama fainted. Maybe the effect is also from alcoholic drinks that he sips tafi. Mama curled up in the middle of her unconsciousness. Sedanfjan me, closed my eyes tightly again when the pain again attacked me and made me lie on the floor.

"Aretta!" Gio called me in a panicked tone. He came up to me and knelt down in front of me, "I'm sorry. I'm gonna telephone Aidan for help."

Aidan's? Ah, true. We should have moved today.

My consciousness began to fade, and even very few black spots began to fill my vision as the pain grew more intense.

"Don't close Aretta's eyes!" You don't have to provoke Mama if you end up being a victim again" he regretted.

I only returned to hearing her faintly faint voice because of the enlarged black shadow. I want to survive, but it's hard. Before I lost consciousness, I spoke to Gio again.

"It's worth it."
